I was craving tempura vegetables. We hadn’t found a Japanese restaurant down here yet. So I googled, and hoped for the best. I found it with Fuji Asian Bistro. They food was amazing. The service was wonderful, with the chef visiting every table. Our server recommended the jasmine tea, which was sooo good. Then the tempura came out. The veggies were cut fresh and battered with just the right amount right away. The rest of the food that we saw going out looked and smelled amazing. I can’t wait to go back and try more of it!

I knew something was wrong when I said I’ll have Chirashi Sushi and the waitress had to ask where it was in the menu. She looked at it and said, «Oh, you want the fish». The wonton soup came out and it was the biggest wonton I’ve ever seen and I cannot begin to describe how tough it was let alone the taste of the broth. Then the Chirashi Sushi showed up. I have never had a bad Chirashi Sushi in my life. I have had some better than others but nothing ever approached how ridiculously horrible this dish was. It was a formed square of old rice with some dry and old fish in very thin strips neatly placed on top. The«tuna» was not tuna. I guess it was Escobar but I don’t really know I just know that it was not tuna. I could go on and on and on about how horrible this meal was but I won’t. I will tell you that the chef came out all smiles and wanted know how we were enjoying our meal. I told him it was the worst Chirashi I have ever had. In my wildest imagination I could not come up with this. The«Chef» just smiled and vanished to the next table. I have never bother to review a restaurant in my life but I am compelled to tell anyone who will listen that this place is the truly worst place I’ve ever eaten in my entire life. How the review in the Citrus County Chronicle can be so positive is beyond me. Of course I’ve never read a review in Citrus County Chronicle to not say a restaurant was wonderful.

12 of us went here for dinner the other night. Chef came out to greet the table, and offered to cook anything for us. Very nice people and staff, and excellent sushi. Extremely fresh and revels any other high end sushi bar. Quite a gem in Homosassa. In addition, the hibachi style food was great as well, as were the kids meals. The chef then checked on us after dinner, and made sure we were all happy and full. Great place and will definitely go back.

This is the best sushi that I have had here in Citrus County. The Benito Box is fantastic for the price. Charlie is an awesome host always with a smiling face. They also have lunch specials that are inexpensive and fast to the table.

Made my very first visit to fuji today with my husband and kids. I Was extremely excited to try the food because of all the great reviews I read on facebook and google. But after visiting I was not impressed at all. First off walking in the door the waitress told us to sit anywhere we wanted. So We chose a booth we walked to the other side and a gentleman was standing in the door way and said you dont want to sit over there? And I said my husband would like a booth and he looked irritated with us so that was off putting. Next we ordered our drinks my drink tasted funny I ordered a pepsi or coke and it tasted like diet soda or something. Then I ordered 2 mexican rolls which left a very weird after taste in my mouth. We recieved soups with our meals I had the wonton soup it had very little flavor and the wontons were son loves pot stickers so we also ordered those as an appetizer they were cooked well but were also tasteless .My kids ordered sweet n sour chicken and recieved this Huge platter of food with lettuce and some orange stuff on top their sweet n sour chicken was topped with onions and carrots and green pepper which I have never seen before and anyone who has kids know as soon as a kid sees something out of the norm on their food they are going to fuss about eating it. I Also ordered chicken with broccoli the broccoli was under cooked and the sauce was bland. I didn’t even touch my rice .My husband ordered honey garlic chicken that he says had no garlic flavoring and tasted as if they just poured a bottle of honey over the chicken. The only positive thing about our visit was the waitress .she was very polite and prompt. We wont be going back.

I was so happy to find a place for sushi in Citrus County! And there are choices for people who don’t eat sushi as well. Food is tasty.

The only place for sushi in Homosassa, but I am happy to say, it is really good. My fiancé always went here for one of our date nights, since it opened about 8 years ago. We usually order the sushi sashimi combo boat with a couple extra rolls or nigiri, like the spicy salmon roll or Unagi nigiri. It isn’t necessary, because the boat offers you plenty, we just like the extra variety. The miso soup is great. Although last time it seemed a little too watered down, that has only been the case once. Chef Charlie always comes over and says hi & asks how your food is, he is very polite & friendly. We love this place, if we hadn’t moved to the Asheville, NC area this would still be our go to place in town. I am happy to say I’ve never had a bad experience here and I have brought family and friends who do not eat sushi & they also enjoyed themselves, choosing the other asian fare.

Seared tuna(tuna tataki) was seared so lightly you could see through the sear and most pieces were still frozen and drown in vinegar. Agadashi tofu was cooked perfectly. Owner was yelling at waitress for all to hear but she was busting her butt. Will not be coming back unless having only a tofu urge.

My trip to central Florida was tricky for my appetite; not a whole lot of vegetarian options out here. When I’m in a situation like that I always look for Asian, Indian or Greek restaurants where I know I’ll at least have a chance of some decent food. I found this place through Unilocal search while at Homossasa Springs, Google said it was closed for Sunday dinner, but when I called they said they were open. The décor is very pretty and the restaurant is huge, but only two tables were filled when we went in. The menu is pretty large and features Thai, Japanese and Chinese dishes. There was a note on the menu that encouraged diners to share their dietary restrictions to the staff and the staff could make something not on the menu. I told the server I was a vegetarian and asked for Kung Pao Tofu, she nodded and asked me how spicy I wanted it and went it came out I was not disappointed. My only complaint was that there was no brown rice available.
