Riversport Kayaks

Kirk was a great manatee guide– patient, kind and knowledgeable. He waited while I swam with the manatees and took pictures. I had a great time. I also used one of his stand up paddle boards to explore the area. He has a great selection of kayaks and paddle boards at his shop. I highly recommend stopping in there for your manatee adventure.

Friendly service, reasonable prices, and a great carpeted put-​in ramp which is free to use even if you aren’t a paying customer!
Pretty huge selection of kayak inventory as well, though the accessories section is not as big as what you’ll see at stores in St Pete.

As an out of towner on a abrupt plan to visit Florida for a week, any help from locals were amazing.
So, we made the long drive from Ohio to Florida the week before Easter. Me, my sister and Two nephews. Well, bad timing for us but the middle of this week had seen record lows. And as record lows I mean 60’s (laughable in Ohio) but still cold do really do anything.
Well, on the last day of our trip the Weather bounced up to the 70s and we made a split decision to go Kayaking, we had never been and it sounded fun. Now, being from Ohio and having a small car, convienance to renting and getting right out on the water was a MUST. After a quick search I came across Riversport Kayaks. And boy am i glad i did!
They offer half price and full day price, we got there literally 2 hours before they closed, so we went out for an hour. The area is so great, they have an area with Monkeys that was so awesome. The workers at this place went above and beyond with helping us decide how we should go out (two small kids, two adults) finding the right Kayaks for our needs. I highly recommend this place, and if I ever return to the area i will use them again.
Just based on our positive experience here we actually stayed in extra day and went to the Beach.

I went to see Kirk at Riversports last February when I decided it was time to stop renting and buy a kayak. Since I had rented several times I had an idea of what I wanted. Well here it is 10 months later and I am still THRILLED with the kayak that Kirk put me into and I’ve put many many miles on it. He listened to the type of paddling I wanted to do and along with my experience and vehicle I was going to haul it with he did a great job.
He also showed me how to tie it on my car securely. The price was so much cheaper than the same thing at a sporting shop down in St. Petes. He also will give you a 15% discount on any future purchases. I’ve called him a few times with questions since my purchase and he has always been very helpful. I know at some point I will be moving up to a faster more sea worthy yak and I have no doubt I will be buying from Riversports again.
