After vacationing in Maui for 2 weeks we stopped and had fish and shrimp tacos. I can say they where the best of the trip and we had a lot of tacos during the vacation. Don’t forget to have the banana bread. Thanks!

Had one of each. Especially liked the Mahi Mahi tacos. Im from San Diego, so I know good fish tacos. Jeff working on new salsa. Wouldn’t change it a bit. Great view of the bay too.

We read the Unilocal reviews of this truck and thought we’d have some fresh fish tacos. The location of the truck is stunning, and the gentleman who cooked our lunch was very pleasant. But the tacos themselves were disappointing. For starters, the tortillas were exceptionally stale. It’s hard to recover if the tortillas are stale. The pork had good flavor, but we did think it was undercooked. The coconut shrimp were just okay. The pineapple just didn’t taste fresh. Perhaps we caught this truck on a bad day … but you would think the very nice gentleman cooking the tacos could tell the tortillas were stale! Go to see the view, but save your money for fresh tortilla tacos in Kapalua or Napili.

Fantastic shrimp and fish tacos! We also got some banana bread to have with coffee the next morning, and it was absolutely delish. Also, the view at this lookout is hard to beat!

Best fried fish tacos I’ve ever had! They are so fresh and flavorful. We keep going back for more! Cash only, no ATM.

After trekking up the coastline eating banana bread and swimming in tide pools, we were starving and had a hankering for some hearty local cuisine. Once you pass Napili, restaurants and local eateries are far and few between, so if you don’t think you can make it another couple hours without eating and spot a food truck, stop and eat whatever they have available. Otherwise it’s shave ice and banana bread for the rest of the day. We spotted the Maui Shrimp Shack, which definitely hit the spot after a long day. The fish was freshly caught and cooked to order. A simple taco itself with slaw, sauce, and plenty of fresh fish was all that was needed. Some people like to over complicate the taco, and it loses itself when combined with too many ingredients. Not Maui Shrimp Shack. My only complaint is that $ 12 for 2 tacos seemed too pricey and probably the most expensive tacos I’ve ever ordered from a cart. This is probably a supply and demand thing, but after being ripped off several times during the trip from local spots, it was starting to get old quick.

These were my favorite fish and shrimp tacos eaten during my visit here in Maui. Loved the banana bread and the juicy sweet pineapple. Look them up next time you visit Honolua Bay!

Shrimp Shack at Honolua Bay was well worth the wait for lunch. The shrimp and fish tacos are excellent and the service is awesome. Great banana nut bread too. Thanks Shrimp Shack.

Found them by accident(a lucky one) at the Honolua Bay overlook. Three of us had both the shrimp tacos and the fish tacos. Cooked for us while we chatted. Tasty fish and shrimp, fresh veg and sauce on top = three happy customers. We’ll be looking for them on our next visit.

Wish I could give negative stars! What a total sham. The JERK On The Cart Said He Gets Up Early Every Morning And Buys the fish, comes home and filets it fresh off the boat. Yeah right, uniform shaped frozen patties out of the ice chest. Add to that, stinky foul tasting oil. Then you get to taste it after belching it for the next 4 hours. Eat at your own risk. Yuck.

There are multiple addresses that come up if you are looking for this place — the Honolua Bay is the correct one. It’s just a small scenic lookout spot. That being said, this truck is worth finding. He doesn’t come every day so try to call if it’s a drive for you. We were staying at the Ritz making this a 5 minute drive. Menu is simple — fish or shrimp tacos and banana bread. Buy a lot of banana bread — it’s baked that day. So delicious. Tacos were great too. Definitely looking him up when we come back!

I am a sucker for fish tacos and I love local food. This place is great, hands down the best shrimp and fish tacos I have ever had. I’m going back tomorrow. Great service, excellent food!

Five stars does not nearly do the incredible tacos, ahhmahhhziiing sauce, and delectable banana bread justice. We stopped by on a whim while driving through West Maui, and, well, stayed for second helpings. WOW! Awesome, friendly owner, incredible views over the water, and the best, FRESH fish tacos you will ever eat. Actually, some of the best food you will ever eat. Period. Just look for the truck parked on the side of a turnaround /view site around mile 32(give or take about 5 miles). Stop by and park your car; you won’t want to leave. Only problem, no delivery to L.A. I guess we’ll just have to come back.

Located in a pull out(look for the Shrimp Shack sign on the road) overlooking beautiful Honolua Bay, this place sells tasty shrimp tacos and they’re the bomb. Jeff & Sonya couldn’t turn out better local food and Aloha spirit coupled with the fantastic view. Everything is cooked fresh right before you and all the salsa /sauces are homemade. Make sure to save room for his made from scratch banana bread too as I’m pretty sure you’ll eat this and then want to buy more to take with you to snack on later or toasted the next day with butter for breakfast! Just a hop skip and a jump past Kapalua, make sure to stop by if you’re in the area and enjoy!

What better way to get to know Maui’s gastronomy than going to a place like this? Let me start with the tacos, they are flavorful, fresh and amazing! The sauce is not heavy and not too spicy, just right!, YESPEOPLE this guys gets up and go and gets his own fish and bakes his own banana bread! :) It is amazing to pay for such a good meal, knowing you are leaving your money back in Maui and not a big corporation this guys know their tacos! They are both super nice! He is super chatty and has a whole life of experience he loves to share! She is a great cook, focused and super nice as well! :) Don’t miss this spot in Maui!
