This place has some legit delicious poke bowls! Located in Kinau Street, passed & close to the parking lot of Board of Water Supply. It’s a small pink store called Shigalicious Shave Ice & Snack Shop. Their parking is located behind their building. Since it’s walking distance from my workplace, I always come here whenever I crave for poke bowl. They also have a lot of different salads & sushi bowls. I’ve tried their spicy ahi & wasabi masago. My fave is the spicy ahi. It was really good & ahi was fresh! Spicyness is just right, maybe a little too spicy for others as it also comes with some slices of jalapenos. All of their bowls come with crab salad, cucumbers, diced tomatoes & daikon. They come in mini or regular sizes. My boyfriend have tried their unagi bowl & he liked it. They gave a generous portion of the unagi. My coworkers ordered shrimp tempura bowl, limu & shoyu poke bowls & they all liked them. They also have different musubis & shave ice that I still have yet to try. Prices are reasonable considering that the portions are pretty big. Unlike other places that put too much rice & less poke. Also quick service & friendly staff. Store is pretty small so not too many customers can all fit inside. Parking is also kind of small but I always walk from my workplace so that don’t bother me. I would definitely come back to try the other bowls!

So many of my Unilocal buddies have been here, and now I am proud to say I’ve joined the ranks of the many Yeeps who have been to «Aloha Cones» too! After reading my Unilocal buddy — Nat N.‘s review a few years back, I had bookmarked this place with intentions of visiting, and trying out one of the sushi bowls, as well as the shoyu chicken musubi. Unfortunately for me, since I came here for a very late lunch today, most of the musubi’s were already sold out, but I was lucky enough to score one tuna musubi. Woohoo! Upon looking over the wall menu, I also decided to get the mini Unagi Sushi Bowl($ 7.50), which consisted of — Fresh Water eel on a bed of Premium Sushi Rice, Crab Salad, Cucumber, Tomato, & Daikon Garnish. And to top off my massive lunch, I capped it off with a cool Banana/Vanilla shave ice with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!($ 4.00) Someone please roll me out da door please!!! Lol! :D What can I say… wonderful grindages yo! I really dug that Unagi Sushi Bowl! The Unagi was all so soft & plump! I loved the sauce that they put on top of the unagi, and the sushi rice was prepared perfectly. The crab salad & vegetable garnishes on the side was the perfect complementary items for this dish! Nom! Nom! Nom! Aloha Cones is a very small shop, with only one small picnic table inside, therefore expect to pickup food, & dash for the door. More or less you can forget about eating inside the shop. On the bright side, there is free available parking here… as you drive on Kinau Street, when you pass the shop, there is a lane between the two pink buildings. Head straight to the lane, and it will bring you to the back of the shop, where you can park your car in a private unmarked parking lot. The parking lot is small… I would say it can probably hold 4 or 5 cars, but if you’re just coming here to pickup food & take off… the parking is more than sufficient. Overall, I had a wonderful lunch, and I’ll be sure to come back here again to try more items… but the next time I will have to talk to my eyes, because my eyes were waaaaaaaaaaaay bigger than the stomach!(Yah hear that eyes???) Moderation is the key… Lol!

I’ve been to Aloha Cones a couple of times now, and both were excellent! Aloha Cones is about a 10 minute walk from my office, so coming here for lunch is always a nice break during my workday. On my first visit, I opted for a regular size poke bowl($ 9.75) with the sesame ahi and limu ahi poke options. I was thankful that I could get 2 different choices in my regular bowl as I’m always really indecisive in my food choices. The poke was fresh and delicious… I loved it! But I just wish there was more. I thought that the ratio of poke to rice was very off and in favor of more rice. I also thought it was weird that there were tomatoes in my poke bowl. I know it says its included on the menu, but I still thought it was strange. Fast forward a month and I made my second trip to Aloha Cones. With the wisdom I acquired on my first visit, I ordered a mini size poke bowl($ 6.50) with spicy ahi and no tomatoes. I loved the bowl so much more without the tomatoes, and I thought that the ratio of poke to rice was much better in the mini bowl! The poke was still amazing, and I think I’ll try the wasabi masago on my next visit. One thing I did note on my second visit was that you need to go early in order to get the poke choices you want… my coworker ordered the last serving of wasabi masago poke around 12:15pm and a large group that came in after us and ordered wasabi masago was unfortunately forced to select other options. Not sure how the parking situation is here since I’ve only ever walked, but it looks like a stall is difficult to come by. Also, Aloha Cones does accept credit card which is a major plus! I’ll be back for sure… the salads are next on my list to try! TL;DR — hold the tomatoes, better poke to rice ratio in the mini bowl, and go early to make sure you get the poke choices you really want!

My go to place if I’m craving raw fish. I love that their bowls come with some veggies and that crab salad. They also give a good amount of sashimi in each bowl. I haven’t tried much on the menu, but my go to dish is their salmon bowl. I’ve had their spicy ahi and I wasn’t a fan, but I’ve heard lots of people compliment their chirashi bowls. Parking here is kind of a pain and so are their hours so I pretty much only come on a Saturday and try to grab street parking on the corner. They close early on weekdays and are closed on Sunday so it makes it hard for people who have a regular 9 – 5 job. Place is really tiny and there is no AC so I would recommend having a place in mind to consume your delicious food. I’ve been going to the museum and sitting under a covered tree.

Very impressed! Kind staff, excellent passion fruit shave ice(the best I’ve ever had on this side of the island), and poke to die for! I am always craving their poke, so ono! When we went for the first time, we weren’t sure where to go, the sign above the shop had a different company’s name on it. Thankfully a nice customer who was waiting outside asked us if we were looking for poke — and pointed us in the right direction. And they have parking! I could tell that all of their customers were loyal customers who hold Aloha Cones in high regard. This instantly put us in a good mood. The food did not disappoint! Can’t wait to go back :) If you like spicy, be sure to ask for extra jalepenos in your bowl!!! They are really nice about adding that for you!

CHEAP + DELICIOUS equals cheapilicious! Yes, that should be the new name for this place. For ~$ 10 you get a good sized poke bowl w/rice and cold crunchy veggies. Talk about a representative sample, here comes the unexpected rhyme ramble. it tastes RIGHT with every BITE! Sometimes I rhyme QUICK, but I mostly rhyme SLOW. Cheapilicious is SICK! WHOOOWEE, can you taste that RAINBOOOOOW? Hold the applause… Enough WHOHA! Let’s get down to business. I ordered the spicy tuna and it was seriously fire! And by fire, I mean that it has some kick… and punches for that matter. It had the right amount of spice to it. Make sure to order some coconut drink to wash it down OR just order an aloha cone for cheapsies. Even though I didn’t get a chance to order one, I’l be back like the terminator and order it the next time. Wow! What better place than to get THE food vice of Hawai’i from one place. Start selling spamusubi and I’ll be here on the daily. Seriously… a one-stop to-go shop that won’t break your wallet. Also, the woman who works here is lovely. She has a heart of gold and a contagious smile. A standing ovation for Aloha Cones. You did it right!

This is what makes living in town worth the high cost of living! If you love fish, you MUST come here. I’ve been coming for nearly 3 yrs now and each time my taste buds rejoice in the flavors these ppl put into their bowls. K so they sell any kine stuff here… Shaved ice, hot dogs, musubis, flasks, t-shirts, and then of course, sushi, salad and their bowls. I’ve only eaten the bowls here… Tried every one and my fav is the Hamachi Bowl. The Chirashi is good, but the Hamachi cuts are soo good and at times melt in your mouth without shoyu wasabi or their ginger pesto sauce… Oh you gotta make sure you get that sauce, it’s winnahs! They also do a mean Spicy Ahi Bowl, Ahi Limu Bowl and a Shoyu Ahi Bowl… They even have a California Bowl and a Tempura Bowl… In every bowl is slices of cucumber, diced tomatoes, shredded daikon, and their awesome surimi crab mix with unagi sauce and shredded nori on top with your selection of main item. I honestly grind everything and save that crab mix for last with whatever rice got left… Mean! K so the place is tiny though. Only a few parking spaces behind the building and you gotta drive thru a single lane driveway but haven’t ran into any problems yet when I do drive over. There is only a bench outside the shop and small bench inside… The rest is standing room only! At most can fit maybe 6 ppl comfortably while the others wait outside… And usually no one eats here… I haven’t seen yet… But to get a hold of one of their bowls is worth standing around or taking it someplace else to grind that buggah! I live close so I usually just walk over… oh the joy of living close to a food place like this! Aurite! Grind on! Pau!

I come here for lunch during the weekday since it’s walking distance from my job. I’ve tried the Wasabi masago ahi, Spicy tuna ahi, and Sesame ahi poke bowl. I must say the fish is very fresh and cut in to big cubes. I love the seasoning and flavors they add to the poke, it tastes amazing. Also the fruits, veggies, and crab they include are fresh and tasty. My favorite by far has to be the Sesame ahi poke bowl! There’s a perfect amount of onion and sesame oil that doesn’t overpower the poke. I recommend trying the sesame ahi! I give them a 5 stars since the customer service has improved greatly and they’re still banging out good poke bowls.

It’s pretty good. I came here once and shared a poke bowl with my boyfriend. To our surprise the portion was on the smaller end. Tried this place a second time and ordered something different. Again the portions were small. You get a lot more veggies than the actual sashimi. I got a mini tempura bowl for $ 6 and it came with 1 tempura. I did like the veggie mix with the imitation crab, and the taste of the food was great. If you’re looking for something refreshing, and light, this is it. It’s different than the normal poke bowl. Other than that, I give this place a thumbs up.

Aloha Cones is truly a hole-in-the-wall poke shop. It’s located on Kinau St. in a little pink standalone house building. H and I came here for lunch, and seriously by 11:45, a lot of their popular pokes were already sold out(i.e. spicy ahi, chirashi, Hamachi). We ended up with limu poke and maguro bowl. The bowls were nicely dressed with fresh cucumber, tomato, and imitation crab salad. There’s only a two seater bench inside the shop, but most people just came for takeout.

This place is walking distance from my work. I’ve been here a few times and the food is always fresh and good. While they do have a small table inside and a bench out front, it’s more of a «To Go» place. They are always busy, so it is wise to call ahead and/or go early. Their menu is very straightforward and they have been very accommodating to my pickiness. The service is very quick. They accept cash and card. They can do group orders, if given enough heads up. Definitely a place to try!

Ohhhhh. It’s been a while since my last visit and my how thing have changed. The crab salad is still delightful, but they use to fill these bowls to the brim with poke. A bit disappointed because the full sized bowls use to get me stuffed, now I’m just teetering the line of stuffed and satiated. Seems they must be doing good though, haven’t seen any of the original staff there.

If you happen to come across a small pink«boxy,» one story building on Kinau Street with people lining up outside — you’ve found ALOHACONES. It’s easy to miss if you blink and aren’t familiar with this place but sandwiched between Ward Avenue and Lusitania is this sweet, secret place to grab a poke bowl or poke salad. First off, if you’re not hoofing it here and looking to park — good luck chuck! Minimal parking directly behind the building — probably six — maybe seven if there’s a few toy cars thrown in the parking mix. Take a chance and drive in, at best you’ll be trying to jenga your car out of a maze. Once you make your way into the very tight building(assuming it’s jam packed when you go), best to know what you’re ordering ahead of time or else get a bunch of stink eyes from QMC people going to get their grub on their lunch break. Or rather, if you opt to go a little later or earlier you can bypass the lunch rush. WHATTOGET? You can’t go wrong with a deluxe poke or Cali bowl or even a tempura bowl. You’ll find a variety of textures in your bowl — from the firm and crunchy edamame, generous milky crab salad to the firm and fresh, delightfully flavored poke with a side of cucumber crunch and freshly cut tomatoes and heavily poured(I asked for a heavy hand) furikake. This picturesque bowl of food is oh so pretty to look at and photograph but even more tantalizingly good to the last flavorful bite. Probably one of the best poke bowls I’ve had this side of town. Generous portion and perfect for lunch on the go. Simply put, ‘I’ll be back(in Arnold Schwarznegger-ish style)” to eat my way through their menu.

LOVE Aloha Cones. Pretty sure this is my favorite poke bowl place ever. Totally overdue review. Tucked away in this little kinda-ghettoish looking place(but it’s actually not LOL) on Kinau Street to the right split if you’re coming off the east-bound freeway exit off the Kinau Exit near Board of Water Supply, you’ll find some awesome poke bowls. OHMY. I would’ve never guessed this place sold ah-may-zing, fresh fish! I don’t know if they have actual signage for«Aloha Cones» but it’s in the same store labeled«Shigalicious». Tricky, tricky! They have a small parking lot in the back of the building which houses about 4 stalls. I’ve always scored parking, as most people are in and out since the seating here is limited(they only have ONE bench inside to eat on and it’s normally very hot in here). The service is always great and the people are friendly. They’re pretty efficient in taking orders and ringing you up, so the line, although intimidating, never keeps you there too long. They serve a variety of salads(vegetarian and those with fish), sushi bowls, and poke bowls. I’ve only gotten poke bowls. The fish is always so fresh and the seasonings are delicious. Not to mention, the bowls always come with imitation crab salad, cucumbers, daikon stringies tomatoes, nori. A mini or cone(yes, it comes in a cute shave ice cone if you wish) is $ 6 and a regular is $ 9.25. I normally always get a regular size and they allow you to choose 2 types of poke, if you wish! I’ve really only gotten tried these 3 types of poke: Wasabi Masago Ahi Poke is a never fail. Perfect chunks of ahi without the nasty white«tsuji» stringy stuff you can find in some poke — i hate that! Don’t worry, this place never has weird fish! :) Shoyu Ahi Poke — very flavorful but not my fave. It’s a little on the sweeter side here, and I’m a salty gal. Spicy Ahi — ahi is not in chunks here, it’s that mushy kind(sorry no way else to describe it haha). not heavily loaded with mayo, but just a perfect blend of spiciness and a little drizzle of a teriyaki like sauce — I sometimes ask for it sans sauce cause remember, I’m a salty gal, not a fan of sweetness on my poke. They also garnish this with a slice of fresh jalepeno. YUM! They also have a loyalty stamp card here, so don’t forget to ask for one! I’m so glad this place is close to work. I call in an order and it’s always ready within a few minutes. They’re also open till 2:30 on Saturdays, so I love that. Ugh, after typing this review, I’m craving a poke bowl. Looks like I know what I’m getting for lunch! :)

Disclaimer: Hawaii visitor review(bc if I lived here, I probably wouldn’t be as critical, but I have limited amount of meals I can fit in while visiting: P) I went to 4 poke/sashimi bowl spots around and this one was my favorite. No real seating inside besides one small bench. Probably better for to-go. We got large bowls with a combination of items on top. The salmon sashimi was very good! I also enjoyed the shoyu poke as well. My boyfriend got the wasabi masago poke(I didn’t love it) and the sesame poke(it was ok). I love how the bowls have some veggies in it(cucumber, radish, tomatoes). Kinda makes it more balanced/refreshing. Around $ 10 a bowl. Delicious! No spicy mayo poke though which is usually my favorite flavor.

Aloha cones is located on Kinau St which unfortunately makes this a very difficult area to get to as it’s right next to the off ramp of the H-1. There is a small parking lot but getting in and out of it is not ideal. I parked on a side street and made my way to the restaurant to avoid the hassle of the traffic. Even with the parking issues, the food makes the trip worth it. I tried the wasabi masago poke bowl and the spicy ahil. The wasabi masago poke has a nice flavor with a hint of spice from the wasabi, but not too overpowering. The poke bowl also comes with crab salad, daikon, and shredded nori. Everything is really flavorful and goes well together, I just wish there was a little more poke. In this particular trip I was a bit disappointed in the sushi rice as it tasted a little dry which was surprising. Aloha Cones is another great poke spot and I will definitely be back to try their unagi and salmon sashimi bowls.

Fresh poke? Check. Decent price? Check. Good portions? Check! Finally got to try this place out. I was going to order a salad, but I decided to try a poke bowl to get my fill of good before going to work. I called and placed a phone order and asked for a recommendation of the most popular poke bowl. The girl on the phone suggested spicy ahi or wasabi masago poke. I opted for the latter. When I picked it up, I was greeted by the same girl I spoke to on the phone, and she was very helpful and friendly. I also decided to try a strawberry slushie too. Wasabi masago poke bowl: so fresh and delicious! I was worried it would be too spicy from the wasabi, but it was perfect :) it paired really well with the veggies, sushi rice, and best of all, crab meat with unagi sauce drizzled on it! All the ingredients came together perfectly The strawberry slushie was refreshing and reminded me of a melted shave ice. Really good on a hot day :) Can’t wait to come back and try more menu items, their salads, and various musubis(they were out today)

Cute sushi in a shave ice cone! I’m all in! I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while now! So stoked to finally have tried it at Rice Fest. I tried the California Cone. It came with cucumbers, tomatoes, imitation crab, furikake, edamame & unagi sauce! It had really great flavor. I loved all the different flavor and textures. It wasn’t just the usual Cali roll ingredients. My only gripe & reason why I knocked off one star was because they used regular rice instead of sushi rice. On the menu it says they use«premium sushi rice» and it tasted pretty plain to me.

It used to be Ono Seafood that reigned supreme on Unilocal, then Marukame Udon, and currently, Aloha Cones sits at the #1 spot with a FIVESTARRATINGAVERAGE! It is well-earned and well-deserved. Aloha Cones is located on Kinau Street, but don’t worry, it’s before the constant congestion of cars. Look for the pink building. No, not the Royal Hawaiian, but a tad smaller. It will say«Shigalicious» at the top of the building, and that might confuse some folks since you’re looking for a sign that says«Aloha Cones,» but no worries, they are together. Look for the«parking» signs and drive down. Parking was one of the things I was concerned about since I drive a larger vehicle. However, on both occasions there was parking, or to be more specific, I maneuvered myself into a space where I felt I wasn’t blocking anyone. :) It’s a grab-and-go, take-out place, so even if it is filled, you’ll probably just need to wait a few minutes. This place is very small, but it has half a picnic table on one side with a 3-seat bench if you want to eat right away. The weather lately has been ridiculously hot and humid, and then some, thankfully Aloha Cones hits the spot for these dreadful days. Aloha Cones serves Poke Bowls, Sushi Bowls, Salad Bowls, Musubis, plus other little snacks. There’s also Shave Ice, but that’s on the counter over with a different name, Shigalicious. I am ashamed at myself for not coming here earlier! Yes, sadly, it was my first time, which immediately led to my second time the following day. Two check-ins means I’m a «regular at» Aloha Cones now, right? :) I had the Wasabi Masago Ahi Poke Bowl($ 9.25) on my first visit, and I was amazed at how beautifully constructed everything looked. There were sliced cucumbers, diced tomatoes, shredded daikon, imitation crab salad, thin nori strips, and the poke with green onion on top, and of course, the sushi rice. It was immediate of how fresh each and every ingredient was. The poke was very fresh and great quality, and it was seasoned and prepared very well with great precision and the perfect amount of tobikko. You are able to taste the freshness and the quality of the fish because it wasn’t overpowered by the sauce and seasoning. Whoever thought of putting unagi sauce in the imitation crab(surimi) salad is a genius! That salad was incredibly tasty and delicious. It wasn’t muddled with mayonnaise or overpowered with unagi sauce. It had the perfect blend of flavors with the sweetness of the surimi crab, creaminess of the mayonnaise sauce, and the savoriness of the unagi sauce, and the perfect amount, so you can really taste the surimi crab. The rice is the most important part, and Aloha Cones makes it perfect: fluffy and light with the right amount of salt and vinegar, prepared with the right amount of water, and served at the right temperature. Perfect! One of the things that really stood out to me is how awesome its wasabi is! I’ve had too many bad experiences where wasabi doesn’t even taste like anything, but the wasabi here will hit you so fast and so hard that it felt like someone jammed his or her knee right in your face. :) Plus, you can grab all the wasabi you want because there’s a self-serve area where you can filled up those little plastic containers with wasabi, soy sauce, pickled ginger, and sushi vinegar, or you can just put it on your bowl. I wish it had a bottle of sesame oil too! The second day, I had the Chirashi Sushi Bowl. It came with 3 pieces of Salmon, Ahi Tuna, and Hamachi sashimi, plus the usual crab salad, tomatoes, cucumbers, and daikon. Each type of fish were so fresh and high quality. The slices were big and thick as well. For this sushi bowl, it came with a green onion in oil sauce that is very, very similar to the sauce served with Cold Ginger Chicken in Chinese restaurants. However, here, the sauce is super clean and flavorful. The green onion really stands out in taste and fragrance, and it goes very well with the sashimi. Everything else in the bowl was just as good if not better than the day before, so I don’t need to describe it again. :) The service here is friendly and accommodating, and the food comes out pretty quick. There’s this one particular girl who goes above and beyond, and she is very considerate of every customer in making sure they are informed of what is and isn’t available and sure they are happy and satisfied. On my first visit, I had a small problem with my poke bowl, but she immediately apologized and quickly remedied the problem that left me surprised at how much concern she showed me. I rarely get this kind of treatment when I point out a problem. Overall, I absolutely enjoyed the freshness and great quality of each individual food item and how well it is prepared, cooked, and served. Just that alone will make me come back for more and more and more. Plus, the service is top-notch and quick. That’s why Aloha Cones is #1!

Did you know that I can eat faster with a fork(rather than using chopsticks)? I was on my way to Kaimuki, when I had a hunger attack! Tummy said, «FEEDMERIGHTNOW!» I pulled off the freeway at the Kinau exit, heading Diamond Head, and made a sharp right… there it was: a light pink building that I had gone to 5 months ago… There it was… ALOHACONES! Then, I did it again! I was in the neighborhood and had a weak moment! Conveniently located near the Queen’s Physician’s Office Building II, I made my way over as a reward for going to the doctor! I’m getting pretty good at justifying my eating! Anyways… Aloha Cones sounds like an ice cream place, but it’s not! Just stop in and grab a salad or a sushi or poke bowl — everything is made fresh, yummy, and beautiful! They even have shave ice! Perfect! I just park anywhere behind the building — just follow the arrows on the signs. I even parked in a stall that looks like it belongs to an apartment building. I figured that I would be just«fast kine»… Most people order take out. I have sat at the lone picnic table and bench a few times, even though there is no air conditioning. That’s because my food didn’t even make it to the car! I open up the package to take a photo, then… BAM! I cannot resist! My tummy takes over and wants«FOODNOW»! It’s so good — my food disappears so quickly — YUM!!! This last time, I finally had a chance to try a shave ice here. For $ 2.50, you can get 2 flavors in a bowl. I chose lychee and mango — it was just right on a hot, summer day! Finely shaved and delicious! While I was eating, the pleasant staff said, «Auntie — you like hashi or fork?» I’m wondering how she knows my name as I answer, «Fork, cuz I can eat faster!» She laughs and continued to pack my package of Chirashi Sushi Bowl(a little of everything) with ginger, wasabi, shoyu, and the AWESOME ginger/onion/pesto sauce — MAKESUREYOUGETTHIS!!! Aloha Cones is still«Five Stars» after over 100 reviews! Keep up the good work!
