Today I had the eggplant Parmesan and the other guest in the party had the chicken Parmesan slider for lunch. Dining room was half full, but unfortunately there was a large take out order resulting in delaying my guest’s chicken Parmesan, by about 40 minutes, luckily the sandwich came with a side Caesar salad. Service came with very good bread and olive oil infused with garlic which was super good. Our server, unfortunately I not get her name, an attractive blond young lady, did her best to provide excellent service, in lieu of the delayed food service. Food was OK but could use a little more flavor for my taste. Establishment comped the sandwich which was very nice and saved the day. Please remember to tip service help appropriately if the reason for«poor service» is not in their control.

Had family in town and they wanted italian so we went to Auntie Pasto’s. Had great service and food was great. They were out of a lot of things including pizza but we ended up getting the lasagna and crème penne pasta and it was fantastic. Seems like the new owner is doing things to change up the atmosphere and whoever is the chef is doing a great job. Food was fantastic.

Auntiepastos is not really that good, I ordered the special, the fried ravioli with chicken and cheese in it, topped with garlic and butter. And the chocolate cake And the Gorgonzola cheese bread. The Gorgonzola bread didn’t taste that good, the Gorgonzola aka the cheese, didn’t even taste like anything The tomatoes it was topped with was devious of its acidic flavor, it was watery and mushy. Don’t even get me started on the fried ravioli, I didn’t even taste the garlic ATALL. The inside seemed to have some basil or oregano in it, but I couldn’t even really taste the cheese. There was absolutely no chicken in it. The fried part wasn’t even that crunchy. It tasted bland The chocolate cake, however, shocked me the most, when it was placed on the table, I immediatly realized ITWASTHESAMECAKESIMILARTOWHATCOSTCOSELLS! They just took that long chocolate cake and cut it into a smaller piece. Upsetting. I wouldn’t go there again.

So, I have been going to Auntie Pasto’s for over 20 years now and they have always been a great«go to» place when we want a bite. Well, lately the food and the service hasn’t been the best. A little over a month ago we took visiting family their for a quick bite before seeing the city lights and the service was terrible! Our waiter wouldn’t stop talking and he seemed to be just embarrassing himself and us for that matter! The food was good though. Then we just went a week ago. Much better service but food was so so. My husband’s clams were bland and my daughters scampi had too much wine. With all that said, I think I’ll give auntie’s a rest for awhile. Hopefully they’ll get it together again.

I’d love to give the place 5 stars. The atmosphere earns a 5, the food earns a 4, the room temperature is a 0. The place is hot. Thanks for the fans, it’s a bit tolerable. Charlie is a 10 star. Her personality is just great, she was very kind and attentive to us. I am a bit irretated by an item being on the drink menu and told I can have it because they don’t have the ingredients. then I selected another drink

Amazing!!! Food and service, every time. We will be regulars here… Blah blah blah. It’s amazing. Blah blah blah I don’t know what else to write. Just come eat here! The creamy pesto is my favorite, but the whole menu is awesome. Come eat here. I’m going to hope they don’t deliver, only because I will get very fat and spend all my money.

This is a solid go-to comfort food Italian place. Reasonably priced, with generous portions. It’s not the fanciest of restaurants, but the food is pretty amazing. Have been there a couple of times as of this review and the service was really wonderful on both occasions.

Ive been here to like 4 times, and I thought it would get better the time I come back… but I didn’t like the service. I think the bread on the side was junk… Spending money on pastas/spaghettis/sandwiches — not worth it… the meatball was too salty… I ordered spinaches, but it was so small and they charge like $ 3.00 or something??? OMG I will never go back there ever.

The fettuccine Alfredo is to die for as was my husband’s special, the gorgonzola ribeye with pasta. Dont forget to order a Caesar salad, a small is enough for two. Last but not least, don’t leave without ordering an in house, homemade tiramisu.

On a rainy night and getting off from work, just having dinner with the hubby, Auntie Pasto’s was the place to be. The ambience was comforting and not too crowded, especially for a Friday night. Our waiter, Paul, took such good care of us and made our dinner even more delicious. He recommended everything! Hubby had the Bolognese with penne and sausage. I had the Lasagna Roll with Mushroom Sauce. Yummy! It was so delicious! We even walked out with doggie bags! Now for dessert! Crème Brûlée and Chocolate Cake! Too die for! We’ll be back soon!!!

Auntie Pastos has been a family favorite of ours for years and years! We’ve always been impressed with their timely service & their awesome food!!! My personal favorite is their house salad and their Gnocchi. Their Gnocchi is by far, the best on the island. Definitely recommended to anyone who is looking for a affordable Italian option in Honolulu!

Great place for lunch. Convenient parking out front(on Pensacola). Not too loud so it’s easy to have a conversation over the meal. Service is speedy and food is fresh and tasty! Highly recommended.

Auntie Pasto’s has been a long time establishment for Italian food for many years. I remembered a time when I was a frequent customer back in da dayz, when they had a restaurant in the Kapahulu neighborhood(where the current Uncle Bo’s Restaurant is). Through the years, the menu appears relatively the same with a few tweeks here and there, but the food quality has taken a slide. I stopped by the other night for dinner with my friend Jules Y., and we ordered the following items — 1. Large Garden Salad($ 9.00) 2. Gnocchi with creamy pesto($ 18.00) What can I say about the grub? The salad had fresh vegetables, but I would say the dressing was kind of weird, as there was waaaaaaaaaaay too much of it dumped on the salad. Looking back 20⁄20 hindsight, we should have asked for the salad dressing to be on the side instead. I kind of hate it when a salad is drenched in salad dressing… it defeats the purpose of eating a salad right? As for the Gnocchi with creamy pesto? This was a 1st time for me to eat this, and I must say it was very enjoyable. The Gnocchi reminded me like I was eating mochi(as far as texture), all in the pesto sauce. No bad at all… thanks for turning me on to this dish Jules Y. What a unique tasting dish. We also got some complimentary bread… I use to look forward with Auntie Pasto’s bread, as it was always fresh, and they gave a lot of it too. On the night we were there, the bread did not taste fresh to me, nor did they give us a lot of it… I guess the restaurant business is pretty tough, there is a lot more Italian restaurants around, so the competition out there can be pretty fierce. On the bright side, we receive excellent service from our waitress Erica(keep up the good work Erica!), as she was very attentive to our needs.

Let me first say I love fettuccine Alfredo. I mean I love it! No meat, no veggies just noodles and creamy Alfredo sauce. The creamier the better! I visited Auntie Pasto’s a few months ago and fell in love with their homemade fettuccine in Alfredo sauce. I loved it so much, I was extremely stingy about sharing it with my guest(still am). So, when I got to choose a dinner date and I was craving pasta, I knew where to go! We showed up late, to beat the crowd, and was created by a very warm and toasty restaurant. I mean, it was getting hot in there. After scarfing down a few glasses of ice water, I was able to regulate my body temperature but we were uncomfortable. I am assuming the AC broke — eating hot pasta in literally an oven was not fun. We partook in the happy hour — which is a good amount of time! Not one of those 1 hour happy hours! I got a lukewarm house Chardonnay for $ 6 so I was extremely classy and added ice to it. The house bread was delicious. It was warm, soft and came with an incredible oil/pesto dip. We ordered seconds! I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo of course($ 16) and my guest ordered the house special lobster ravioli($ 19). The lobster ravioli was weak sauce meaning that the sauce was soupy and not thick and creamy. If the sauce was thicker like the Alfredo sauce it would of have been amazing and awesome sauce. The fettuccine Alfredo was delicious and I am very happy I have left overs. No I will not share. I really like the drink specials but I have to claim the prices for the food are a little steep. I would definitely pay $ 16 for the fettuccine because it is unlike others I have had, but the lobster ravioli did not hold its value. Other than eating in an oven, we enjoyed the staff and appreciated all the discounts Auntie Pasto’s offers.

Had dinner here tonight. The romaine salad I had was solid… and the affordable wine and beer selection(and cute location) make this place a great date spot… but I’m leery of their menu. Specials included«fish in panko”-aka catffish-and a greasy and flavorless sizzling steak my friend tried. The seafood offerings are a total bore. More meats than chicken and steak, perhaps? I had chicken cattiotore with«fresh fettucine» that didn’t taste fresh. The sauce was amazing… but I love fresh fettucine and hope none was used on the oddly al dente pasta I ate. Fresh fettucine should be much smoother and ever-so-slightly silky. I did bring leftover home because the sauce… yum!

Great service, solid fare. Street parking only. A sizable wine list for such a small, casual place. Take out is also available. Can get super crowded in the evenings, but nice and easy at lunch. Love the spinach and cream pasta and the mixed mushroom pasta with chicken and the Madeline salad. Hubby likes the seafood pasta. Worth the calories!

Meh. Pizza was just okay. My wife had a shrimp and pasta dish. We started with an app of garlic bread. All were just okay. Sadly, early the next morning my wife had food poisoning. Most definitely not a place we will ever go back to.

Went here after a 5 year hiatus. We tried our luck at a few other hotter spots on a Friday night– pint and jigger– 30 minute wait; izakaya Torae Torae– 2 hour wait; Los chapparos– line out the door, no parking; maharani– line crowding the rainy sidewalk, no street parking. So, it was serendipity when we found street parking in front of goodwill, dropped off a bag of clothes we had in the car to donate and walked into Anti Pastos and got a table for 2 right away… Sweet! We found the service to be a bit slow but gracious. The hostess and our server were very nice and accommodating. They no longer serve house wine in a carafe, but they do have bottles for about $ 30/each or a $ 10 corkage fee per bottle if you BYO. We got the Anti… pasti appetizer– lots of cheeses(mozzarella, Gouda, and some other kind of sharp yet soft cheese), prosciutto(thick slices– it was unusual and a bit tough to chew but delish– like undercooked thick bacon), salami, artichoke hearts, pepperoncini, and salad with ranch. $ 16– a great plate to share– worth it in my opinion. We split the shrimp scampi– ordered the homemade fettucini for $ 2 extra– so worth it. The sauce was a bit lacking but it was ok. Lots of garlic, lemon, a bit of pepper and parsley. Not very buttery– more of a watery cream sauce. Lots of shrimp, but small size shrimp. I’m not sure I’d order it again. Side order of sausage and peppers– yes– you need this with whatever you get– 3 sausages, sliced in half(6 long glorious pieces of sausage, lots of peppers and onions with cheese sprinkles and salt and lots of olive oil. Super yummy. Food took a while to come out– pasta was the wrong type but it was replaced no problem, and the side of sausage came out when we were almost done with the pasta. Bread was served in apology for the wait while our pasta was corrected so not sure if we would have gotten that if not. Didn’t see other tables get bread around us so maybe it’s an up charge. Overall probably a 3.5 star food experience but extra bump in score for not having a wait on a Friday night and the good service. Not sure how quickly we’ll go back, but it hit the spot when other restaurants were too busy.
