Walked into the store and was immediately discriminated because my family and I are military. The store clerk rudely stared at us and there was a giant lack of respect, and the entire time, talking with other customers about what a burden it is to have military on the island. No appreciation for the people who devote their life so that people can enjoy their life.

This store is super packed but they sell high quality swimming apparel. And if you buy something on sale, you get a great deal. Plus hotel guests get an additional 10% off. We shopped at 3 other stores before coming here, and found 2 amazing tankinis from Australia for $ 140. We had previously bought another suit for $ 220 — which sadly was non-refundable across the street from Yardhouse. The sales rep was really sweet to our kids, talked to them, and was super helpful. She was also not pushy at all, unlike the other stores.

We went to this little store(packed with resort wear, swimsuits, and accessories) in the Outrigger Waikiki lower lobby(on the way to Duke’s), last year while on vacation when I saw the perfect dress for me,(searching for a nice one as my Valentine’s Day gift– Tommy Bahama was a contender), which was on a mannequin in the window. My husband asked the sales lady if he would take the dress off the mannequin because the other sizes on the rack were too big. It was the Afterglow Jam’s World(bright colorful fun Hawaii label/brand with copyrighted prints) «Mariah» dress– thin straps, full long skirt, overall flattering fit. I tried it on and it was like angels singing– felt just like when I chose my wedding gown– I just knew. And my husband agreed, that it looked really nice on me– like it was meant for me and my body type. Although it was a little long(would need alterations), it was beautiful. The dressing room was a little small, but at least one can try on the clothes. The full price on the tag was $ 135, but my husband paid $ 125. On the website, the regular price is $ 142. Now, the sale price is $ 92.30 but looks like every size is sold out. Here is the link: I am mentioning the prices because this is not something that my husband would normally do, but it was for V-day, a special occasion for us, since we spend it in Hawaii, for the past five years, so far(I know he’s a keeper and I’m not letting go). I wore this gorgeous dress this year on Valentine’s Day and while walking down Kalakaua Ave., it got a lot of attention!(I wear it to work too BTW.) The nice outgoing sales lady told me that there was an outlet(past styles and prints, «not these ones» she assured). Thus, the love affair with the local label was started(Yeah, my husband reminds me that I didn’t like the brand in the beginning, but I admit that some of the prints are a bit cheeky– fish prints. And besides I don’t like every print from the company.) If she didn’t tell me about the outlet store, I would’ve never known(another reason to get tips from locals). Hence the four stars. The store is small but it doesn’t feel cramped, everything was arranged well. We passed by again this year but we didn’t go in– there were sales on the swimwear. A Jam’s World dress was on the mannequin at the entrance of the store. There are a few other stores that carry the local label, like the one at Hilton Hawaiian Village, & Macy’s besides the two namesake stores in Royal Hawaiian Center & Ward Center.
