Looks like a «hole in the wall» Italian restaurant on the outside but the inside is not as bad. The spaghetti that I ordered came with a huge meatball, side salad, and a coke for $ 18. Not bad considering traditional prices in this area. My server(Jay) was friendly and even told me about a great place to grab a drink after my meal. If I’m in the area, I’ll stop by again.

The food was good, service was good, but I really considered a three because of the value. It was pricy for the amount of food. I was glad I was not paying for the meal! I was at a business meeting when there and it seemed most in on our large group were pleased with their meal. They worked well with us setting up the group meeting, so this kept me at a four.

For starts it is a really tiny restaurant with probably about ten tables jigsawed together somehow but it worked. The place was cute, and the ambiance was nice. The guy playing the guitar(James I think), was really nice & deserves your applause every so often. I am always skeptical about trying Italian restaurants growing up eating my familys sauce as well as from pizzeria’s in Brooklyn & Queens, it’s kind of incomparable. But the main selling point for me was live music and BYOB. BYOB usually means go. & for a $ 4 corkage fee, that is less than what you’d be paying for 1 drink anywhere else. Now for the food… K so, let’s just start by saying everyone else was satisfied with their dinners except for me but it wasn’t to surprising because EVERYTIME I go out to eat they either run out of what I want or bring out the wrong item… ANYWAY, this time wasn’t an exception. I ordered the personal«King James» pizza(in honor of our friendly guitarist) and the server says«the chef says were out & only could do the small…» My question is how do you run out of a personal pizza when your menu claims that ‘ALLPIZZASAREPREPAREDFRESH”? Not only that but for the server to say«the chef doesn’t want to cut the dough from a small to a personal» WTF? As if I’m not indecisive already, it’s back to square one… five minutes later server returns«Your all set the chef’s gonna do it.» What a lovely change of heart. My pizza was whatever there was barely any sauce but I’m probably just still salty from the whole experience. My friend got the Stromboli which was AWESOME& my boyfriend got the shrimp and scallops pasta which was HUGE& he devoured it. All in all the stars up there are for James, our server who was totally cool attentive & apologetic, & the ambiance… as for the experience as a whole I will not be returning.

Very intimate, homey feel. Very good food. I would highly recommend the pizza. Thin crust and very homemade. Remember to BYOW. The Wine Closet is right around the corner.

Okay, since it’s been about a year since we were there, we gave this place another chance in hopes that maybe they were having a bad night when we were there the first time. Sorry, but it wasn’t any better. Now, with all the name changes going on, I’m not sure if they were operating under a new owner, but … pretty much the same ‘ol same ‘ol. Very sad, and disappointing. My friend and I came out of the restaurant going… «HOW is it that they can remain in business with food like this?» but we figured something out: Reputation and/or improving the taste of their food isn’t all that important because they’re relying on tourists. See, the tourists get a coupon on the street corner, they try the place, but they’re catching the next flight out of Hawaii in the next few days, so, even if service was bad, even if the food was bad — they can’t do much about that except to keep a mental note never ever to return — then they catch their flight and they’re off the island. This second time, I ordered spaghetti with marinara. The spaghetti was overcooked, the sauce was acidic(extremely tangy). My comment to my friend was, «I think Ragu sauce tastes better than this». So disappointed :( I look at the guys seated next to us — they’ve just sat down(party of 4) and they’re looking at the menu. They whisper and talk and they they decided to get up and walk out(without ordering). Another family sitting to the right of us(near the kitchen). I overheard the customer tell the waitress that they’ve been waiting forever for their pizza. The pizza finally came out, and the guy calls the waitress over again, and I hear him saying«I can’t eat this. Look at the shrimp — the shell is still on, it’s not even de-veined. The crust on the pizza is burnt and black. I can’t eat this, take it off our tab please» so the waitress goes and talks to the chef(?) and I hear the chef yelling«take the pizza off the check, but he still has to pay for the bread and salad! that came with it » No apologies, no I’m sorry that I don’t know how to cook shrimp, nothing? So…that was the environment in which we had our dinner. One good thing — they’ve opened up the restaurant, knocked down some dividers/walls and so the interior is less gloomy/dingy/dark like it used to be in the past but taste needs improvement and they really need to learn some customer service skills. Skip this restaurant. Not even worth the 20% discount coupon you get on the street corner.

«Meh. I’ve experienced better.» The little tagline for the two-star rating pretty much sums up how I feel about this place. Maybe we didn’t order the right things, maybe we came at an off time, maybe maybe maybe … either way, I’m not willing to sacrifice another sub-par meal experience to risk trying this place again. I got the chicken broccoli pasta with a pesto-cream sauce. It was oily, the pasta was soggy, and the food just didn’t have a lot of taste. Not to mention that we didn’t get any of our bread … :(My friend got the eggplant spaghetti and while it looked moderately better, neither of us was very impressed. Additionally, our bill came out to $ 40 for those two plates of food. Yeah, all in all, a very MEH place. I wish I could say better things about it.

I can’t find the post but someone on here stated that they saw roaches at Bistro Davino. I verify the claim as a roach crawled out from under my plate as I just finished eating. Grossed me out. Wont be coming back.

Great place, food is awesome. Life music, little romance. A great secret spot. Its true mom and pop though so the flavor changes with the cook of the night. I always get the calzone or the spicy shrimp pasta.

The pluses– cozy quaint ambience. Friendly staff, quick service, and the musician(guitar) was really good. They must not have a liquor license, and have some deal with a nearby wine bar to sell to you. So you can get very good wines for dinner. The food was average. Seemed kind of pricey for what you got. Personal pizza size was small, for 16 bucks. My 10 year old wanted pesto pizza, no meat or anything else, and they charged her the full 16 bucks like the chicken pesto pasta entrée. They say two or three people can share a large pasta(33 $), but I would say it was maybe ok for two adults.

Cozy little neighborhood Italian place with friendly staff. nice atmosphere. reasonable prices and good sized portions. get 10% if you buy wine next door at wine closet. had the smoked salmon mac and cheese, very good an the cheese was a mix of italian cheeses that went well with the smokiness of the salmon. my wife had spicy shrimp pasta, which was spicier than we usually get at italian places, which for us was a big plus. salads there are just iceberg so nothing special. would prefer the pasta cooked a few mins less. had the wasabi pizza for take the other day too. i think their pizza needs to be consumed right away, we waited a bit too long. liked that the crust was thin and crispy. needs more wasabi pesto! a great idea, let’s just get more on the pizza. oh and good tiramisu…

We heard good things about this place and were excited to try it. It was a very disappointing experience. First, there were cockroaches crawling around in the cracks between the benches and coming out from behind the paintings. We almost left because of this but decided maybe they just crawled I’m from outside. We ordered garlic bread and it wasn’t fully cooked and didn’t taste very good. The food came out quickly, but like many of the reviews say, it was very bland tasting. Even after a heavy dose of Parmesan cheese the pasta was still no good. I would not recommend choosing DaVino’s for a place to eat. Stay away.

I really like Due Divinos food, we always get take-out, so I’m not too sure about service, but everytime we order girls are very nice, answer all question about the menu and give recommendations. They take ID cards and offer 15%, sweet deal! I’m really picky about ingridients: their salad is ALWAYS fresh and soooo delish, just regular ceasar salad, but gosh how they make it taste so fresh and good in to-go plastic box? Heaven!!! Pizza is very tasty, very thin crust and cheeeeezy cheeeez with whatever u pick toppings. I assume one of the best in town! Next time I hope to come there with bottle of wine just to enjoy atmosphere and live music.

Went here for the first time. We ordered the crab stuffed mushrooms, ceasar salad, baked ziti, and small pizza(chicken, spinach, and garlic). Friday nights are busy so make reservations. But, we did not mind waiting. The wait was less than five minutes. The restaurant is very tiny so we sat next to other patrons. I did not mind it, but you could definitely hear others conversations. The service is quick which is a plus. The food however was very so-so. The crab stuffed mushrooms was very dry and the mushrooms tough. The baked ziti did not have that much cheese or sauce and was bland for our taste. The pizza however was tasty. It is BYOB with a cork fee for you drinkers. For those with love huge food portions — this is the place for you. A nice addition was the solo guitarist who played music from the Rolling Stones to Eric Clapton. It added a nice ambiance.

Margarita Pizza($ 8) is okay. It has a thin crust and some type of balsamic sauce spread on the bottom but its like the cheese is of poor quality because it gets stringy quickly. I also found a piece of char on the crust which was pretty gross. I got the lasagna before and that was nothing special. Although it had a variety of meats in it, it seemed they went more for the quantity rather than the quality. I’ve only gotten take out here but the ladies working are always very nice, so I would give them 4 stars for service and 3 for food = 3.5 stars overall. The restaurant is BYOB. The wine store two doors down gives customers 10% off BYOB if you purchase wine to eat at the restaurant. Unilocal365: 020⁄365

I have not had good Italian food in weeks unless you count DiGiorno or pasta with Prego sauce on it. I was due so why not Due Divino?! This place is far better than that simple stuff. Last night I decided to stop by this place and arrived here at about 9 pm. Reservations for two were on the agenda and we were promptly seated. The waitress was very patient with us as we decided on what to eat. The décor was nice. The lights were dim and there were candle lights on every table. There was live entertainment too with a guy singing his heart out and strumming his guitar. Also, CDs were on sale for 10 bucks. We settled on a small lasagna($ 18) and pasta(12). Salad and bread comes with every entrée. For $ 1 more you can get your salad Greek style. $ 3 more for garlic bread. We opted for regular salads and bread. The salad was a good simple salad with romaine lettuce, tomato slices, cucumber slices, croutons, and a balsamic dressing. The bread was slightly sweet. Our food arrived quickly after ordering which was a pleasant surprise. The lasagna was so delicious and was made with 6 kinds of meat. The pasta was was also delicious and was made with homemade meat sauce. I love how everything is made from scratch here! Service, food, and cost was good. Parking can be a little difficult. We were lucky and got a parking stall close by. Parking is street parking only. Worth it if you’re in the neighborhood. #Yelp 365 — 6⁄365

Classy, yet laid-back/casual, spot for taking a break from bbq-this, bbq-that. 4 stars for amazing ambiance, food And location. close to great shopping and nightlife. I generally avoid dining inside any play in waikiki, but this place does it for me. The guy playing guitar is great and took on my challenge to render Walk on By with talent. I met great ppl. here both visits and one partylikeits1999 even started here. the artichoke bruchetta is ammmazing and would have made a great meal on its own. for once, there was enough dip for 2 or 3 baskets of bread. I never tried their pizza but took a couple bottles of cab. to sip alongside the chicken carb.(perfect… cooked the traditional way, yet nice and creamy, which is rare) and the sloppy eggplant parm(yum, yum, yum)… crispy yet meaty and, yes, sloppy-need I say more? next time, I think i’ll do a beer-pizza duo to explore their awesomeness some more. FYI: if looking for pizza, just try this place. Boston Pizza is absolutely disgusting and has the most bland sauce I’ve tasted in years(yes, I somehow tasted the meager layer of sauce in b/t dry sheets of vintage-dominos cardboard). The cheese at Boston P. is also lame for an alleged NE-style pizzeria.

During the week, all I could think about was eating here! I also like name. There were some things about this Due Divino I didn’t get. From the outside, it looks like a modest pizzeria(they say pastaria), with it’s red and white signs and neon lighting. When you walk inside, it’s a nicely furnished restaurant: with new tables, drapes you would see hanging in Roman orgie oof rooms and expensive metal things in scattered areas. THEN there’s a nicely dressed bolo head Eric Bana lookalike waiter who seats you, in that all black long sleeve and slacks ensemble seen in fine dining restaurants. BUT when you look in kitchen(from an opening cut into the wall, visible from the dining room), one cook looks like a hockey player metal head from a Kevin Smith movie and the other like younger Luca Brasi from The Godfather. Both were dressed in casual attire. I was so confused. Seriously! I’ll admit, it took me a while do decide on what type of pizza I wanted to try cause there were so many combinations that sounded delicious. From a regular tomato and basil, Mediterranean, all the way to Phillie cheese steak. At Due Divino, the slices start at $ 5.50 and a whole pie can run you up to $ 30. So I ordered a starter ceasar salad($ 5) and a Seafood pizza slice($ 7). My friend got a slice of Meat Amore($ 6.50). First comes my salad filling an 8″ plate. Nothing special, cept the croutons were homemade — big, toasted and seasoned pieces from a loaf of bread(maybe French, I dunno). After about 10 – 15 minutes came our slices. I was glad to see they were big and around the same size as Boston’s. YES! My slice tasted okay, Alfredo sauce with pieces of shrimp, scallops and abalone. I tasted a small piece of my friends Meat Amore. The flavor in that sauce and meat made me wish I got that instead, even if he felt they should’ve packed it on a little more. Now the crust(NY thin style). Since the waiter still left my fork and knife on the table after he took away my salad plate, I figure I’d use it to cut into my slice. I know, BLASPHEMY! I tried to cut into my piece but it was too dense. And this was supposed to be thin crust? So I picked it up and took a bite. Their crust was actually quite dry and chewy. The best way to describe the texture is that it’s like a tough pita bread-muffin-cracker, which took me a while to finish. Longer than I cared to anyway. Upper-end looking pastaria with great service. Designer pizza with a dense and chewy crust that I didn’t really care for. Also, coming to the conclusion that seafood works better on pasta instead of baked into a pizza. Would I return? Yes. Though probably only to impress a hungry love interest into dimly like rooms with nice interiors and who so happens to be craving American Italian food a few steps above the standard fare. 3 stars Due Divino on Ena Road

Due Divino was such a happy surprise on a recent trip to Hawaii. I never imagined I could find decent pizza away from the mainland but Due Divino surpassed my expectations. On our first full day in Hawaii, the boyfriend and I were walking to breakfast when a guy handed us a flier for Due Divino. Usually that means the place is desperate and not very good but after looking it up on Unilocal we thought we’d give it a chance. The menu consists of typical Italian food and pizza. The offer whole pies or pizza by the slice so I ordered a slice of Hawaiian, the boyfriend go a slice of pepperoni and we started with a caesar salad. The salad was fresh and had just the right amount of dressing. The pizza slices were HUGE! The crust was thin and crispy with an almost sweet taste. One slice will fill you up! The staff was very friendly and we felt like we were regulars even though it was our first visit. The next time we are in Hawaii we will have Due Divino on our list.
