Salon is really posh and clean. View is exceptional. Bruno is friendly and makes you feel at home, he offered me coffee and made one special for me. He showed me different swatches of colors. Output: My hair is overdue for a touch up for 3 months and the color is really fading. My hair color came out good, not great not bad. What I had problems was when I was describing a haircut that I want, he doesnt seem to listen. My hair was 2 inches below my waist and so it’s pretty long. I told him to layer my hair and i want bangs. Now my hair looks like just one big chunk of hair and he didnt cut me bangs and told me to wait it out to see if that’s what I really want. I told him that’s what I want! Then he styled my hair soooo poorly and didnt even blow dry like how a nice salon would do it. I’ve been to so many salons and I am really disappointed having read all the nice reviews here in Unilocal. Will not go back and burn my $ 220(for a haircut and hair color)…

Bruno is the best in the business! I had a cut and balayage. The cut is amazing, my hair frames my face really well and it feels lighter. I was also not disappointed with the balayage. I wanted my hair lighter but I also wanted it to look natural. That’s exactly what balayage does. My hair now has a really nice sun kissed look. Bruno gets five star reviews for a reason! He exceeded all my expectations!

Bruno is the Michelangelo of women’s hair — or more appropriately to his ethnicity and origin, the Matisse. When I arrived, I was stunned by the elegant layout of his suite, and the experience that followed left me so filled with satisfaction and awe with Bruno’s skill as a stylist and host that I vowed on the spot to never — EVER — stray from this hair heaven that it had taken a quarter of my young life to discover. On top of this, Bruno served me handmade, perfectly chilled truffles and a delicately prepared tea that absolutely tickled my senses and left me salivating for more. It took all the willpower I had to keep myself from licking the plate and seeking to scarf down his entire batch while he wasn’t looking :) Bruno made me feel as though he sympathized and understood the hair journey that had brought me to his chair that day, and didn’t make me feel pressured in any way to purchase services that were unnecessary or that I could simply not afford. He created a style that accented my appearance very pleasingly, and was true to my habit of generally needing a wash and go look that offered flair and sophistication. Don’t be confused — this is no easy task, and Bruno achieved it without even breaking a sweat!!! Fast forward almost two months, and I am five-star ecstatic to report that my highlights are still honey-esque and complementary, and have completely resisted that awful orange sheen that inferior styling lends after the hair honeymoon is over(don’t blink!) Furthermore, my cut has only grown to continue in its accentuating nature, and my ends are hard pressed to produce a split. Needless to say, I have found my hair soul mate, and hope that we never have to part! Do yourself a favor and book an appointment; after all, chances are you will be as amazed as I am in your feminine search for a stylist who not only meets your needs, but routinely exceeds them, and your personal journey can be put to rest for once and for all! You deserve it!

I wanted to wait a while to write a review to see how much I’d still love my hair after I visited Bruno — like the rest of reviews, I agree, his talent is worth every penny — he’s just great! It’s been 1 month and I swear, my hair looks as fresh as it did when I walked out of his salon. I got a cut and a natural balayage color that Bruno advised to bring out my skin color and warm me up. A friend who is always dressed to the 9’s complimented me right afterwards asking if I got a tan or some color bc I looked good! Finding a hair stylist I liked has always been a dilemma. I have stick straight asian hair so I usually get some kind of layered cut — and bc I’m not into doing my hair, it needs to grow out well, too. Every stylist I’ve gone to does something a little different and after so many tries, I’ve come to appreciate the way a stylist can wield his or her scissors. I’ve had a few memorable haircuts in my life and yet, I’m still searching for that one elusive hair style. You know the one I’m talking about? The one that people who asked if you got a haircut the first time, will ask you again 2 weeks later when you’ve done absolutely nothing to it? The one where you wake up after sleeping on your hair funny and it actually looks better? The one that has cut your hair time from zero to negative zero bc it’s just awesome all the time? The one that makes you forget you even wanted hair like Gisele Bundchen? Well. the first three have actually happened after I went to Bruno! And I think with time and repeat visits, I’ll start thinking the fourth, too.

Simply AMAZING! As one Unilocaler said, Bruno is an artist! It’s quite obvious that he takes great pride in his work, and appreciates his clients immensely. I have NEVER(no that’s not an exaggeration) left a salon 100% percent satisfied(I’ve tried just MANY high end salons, often paying extra to work with the owner). The thing that set’s Bruno apart(IMO) is how well he listens to what you want. Yet, in a kind way, he’s not afraid to give his opinions on what will and what might not work(he will also explain why). I truly appreciated this, and felt completely at ease throughout the entire process… The end result– My dark black lifeless asian hair has been transformed into a full and classy piece of art, with soft/natural, yet still noticeable balayage highlights. Just what I wanted! Thank you, thank you, thank you, Bruno! To my fellow Unilocalers; go see Bruno, you deserve it!

Bruno has been taking care of my hair since 2007. I like his use of products that do not harm your hair and do their job. Bruno is willing to flex his schedule to accommodate you. He is good with color and gives a great cut to your liking. He has never, ever scolded me for touching up my color myself. :-) I don’t mind paying a bit more knowing that the money is going straight to my stylist, can’t say the same at those big high-end salons. And the view from Bruno’s Century Square studio is excellent and just ties together your whole experience.

Bruno is amazing. I went to him for the first time several weeks back to get some seriously needed fixing for my hair. I have very thick, wavy hair that had been highlighted blonde for years. In an attempt to grow my hair out, before seeing Bruno, I hadn’t had a cut for roughly six months. I walked in knowing I wanted a «wash and wear» cut and balayage done for a more natural look. Bruno did a PHENOMENAL job. We cut off more than I had expected, but it was definitely needed cause my hair towards the ends was soo blonde and soo damaged. He also added a rinse to get me all one color again(imagine. before I saw Bruno, the farther from my roots, the blonder my hair was). I required two sessions to address all the fixing I needed. First session focused on the cut. Second was color. He really knows what he is doing, is very professional, witty and fun. He guides you in the right direction and speaks to you like you matter. The salon is very stylish and intimate. It’s an added perk that it just so happens to have a breathtaking view of the city. Oh, and he serves you homemade truffles :) I highly recommend Bruno.

I recently met with Bruno, of the Bruno de Paris Salon, for a colour consultation. I was in the mood for a ‘new look’ and wanted to explore Balayage. Bruno de Paris Salon came up and had great reviews, so I scheduled a consultation. When I first walked in I was blown away, the entire salon walls are windows that overlook the city, it is beautifully painted and has a lovely crystal chandelier hanging in the center. The salon is small, only a couple of salon chairs, it is exclusive and quiet — you are not sitting in a row of salon chairs with blow dryers and loud conversation on each side. The atmosphere is relaxing, a Parisian oasis the middle of downtown. I initially met with Bruno for a colour consultation, but after meeting him, I felt so confident in his abilities that I scheduled a hair cut on the spot. I have ‘difficult hair’, it is wavy, curly and frizzy. I am normally very hesitant about letting someone cut my hair, but something about Bruno felt right. My hair cut started off with a shampoo and scalp massage(amazing massage), after that I was brought to the chair for a light blow dry, then before the cut — I was served homemade chocolate truffles, made by Bruno! They were delicious! During the cut, we started talking and I was asking questions about how he started, favorite hair styles, Paris, etc… It did not take me long to realize that Bruno is not a hair ‘stylist’ but a Hair ‘Artist’, he truly has a passion and a gift. His philosophy is less is more and take what you have and work with it to make it beautiful. He believes in improving the health of your hair. Bruno, by the way is from France, has an amazing accent, knows hair, looks out for the clients best interest and is a true hair ‘Artist’. My haircut is perfect… Although he ‘cut’ it, it looks and feels thicker and longer than it did prior to the cut. I can wake up and go and it looks great! I am looking forward to my next appointment and more truffles!

If there was a 6 star rating Bruno would get it. Yes it is true! I have always struggled to find anyone who could do something different with my hair. I usually cut it short once a year and then just let it grow because I am usually not 100% happy with the cut. I think I must be the worst client in that I have ideas of what I like — I am just not sure what works on me per say. Basically I need a hairdresser that is not afraid to tell me what works for me and what doesn’t. I’m happy to pay a little more for a great stylist like Bruno — really he is an artist. He knows what your hair is doing and can guide you(not force you) to the right conclusion on cut, color and style. He gets to know you and your personality and I believe tries to have that show in what he does. His salon is on the 31st floor right off of Bishop Street. There is parking which is great and his view is to die for. He has created a little bit of Paris in downtown Honolulu with the crystal chandeliers on the ceiling and the smartly decorated space where he does his magic. Bruno makes what he does look so effortless, but having had my hair cut by many in my life — he is really a genius. He also treats you like a queen. You are the person he focuses on and you feel as though you are his most important client when you are there. If you are as fortunate as I, you may also get to try one of his homemade chocolate truffles while getting pampered! I found the person that I would trust 100% with my hair and would recommend him to anyone at all! Yes men too!

It’s been so long since I logged into Unilocal,I couldn’t find my information. However, my hair looks so AMAZING, it was worth it to create a whole new account just to let Bruno know how much I appreciate his talent. Since coming to Hawaii 2 years ago, I’ve struggled to find anyone who could do something with my hair. I’m a baby fine blonde, made a little blonder by the bottle. I’m more than happy to pay a little more for a decent cut and dye, but in the last two years, I’ve been died purple(twice — by Salon 808, of all places!), and my dried out hair has undergone some of the worse hair cuts I have ever had. When I would ask people with hair like mine where they had it done, the answer that came back was always the mainland, so at one point, I even had mine cut while on the mainland and wouldn’t let anyone touch it for about nine months.(It looked terrible in the end, but I had learned it could be made to look even worse.) Bruno does not view his profession as just a job. He is a true artist, and it shows! My hair color is fantastic, and my hair cut is so stunning that when he finished, I actually wanted to cry. It took 2 years, but I have finally found someone I can trust completely with my hair and feel beautiful when I leave his salon. So while I don’t doubt that he could do anyone’s hair, to all of the other fine haired blondes I’ve begged for information on a good hairdresser over the last few years, I found him! Added to that, his salon has a fantastic view, and if you are really lucky, he’ll let you have one of his homemade chocolate truffles.

If a salon gets 5 stars it’s certainly worth checking out and I wasn’t disappointed. I expected a good cut from the reviews and got it, and the color is wonderfully rich. He told me he added three shades to the mixture so it had variation without the extra time and money for highlights. The ammonia-free coloring product left my hair shiny and silky. I have fine straight hair with a lot of gray so it takes some skill to make it look bouncy. And he’s time-efficient, a bonus to my schedule. It’s worth noting though that while Unilocal says he accepts credit cards his web site says cash or check and that’s accurate. And yes, the view is amazing. I don’t know about parking as I can walk, another plus for me.

Bruno is absolutely amazing. I’ve never had a stylist who pays such close attention to his artform and his clients desires. He really know’s how to cater to his customers and has perfected his craft. Not only do I always get the best cut/style and service, but the oceanview with the mountains from the 31st floor is breathtaking. Coming to him is truly a memorable experience

Bruno owns a very small wonderful salon that only fits three clients at a time. He truly knows what he is doing. He’s extremely friendly, personable, sophisticated, slightly sarcastic in the best possible sense and down to earth. Stunning view of the ocean and the city. Watching the sunset was a real treat while sipping wine and eating some of Bruno’s wonderful homemade truffles. Plus, best haircut I’ve ever had. Someone who finally knows how to work my thick wavy verging on curly hair without trying to pressure me to just straighten my hair because it’s faster and easier for them so they can get the next client in the same chair. Bruno’s prices may seem high to some but after all the terrible experiences I’ve had which lead to dreading haircuts it is totally worth it.
