I highly recommend C&H. I got into an accident in honolulu’s bumper to bumper traffic and the damage was much worse than I would’ve thought. At first I thought just the front bumper was the issue, but I ended up needing several new engine parts because of the damage. They were completely booked for a month and went above and beyond to fit me into their tight schedule earlier because of the state of my car and the fact that I didn’t have coverage for a rental. They also ordered the parts early so that they’d be there by the time I dropped my car off and finished working on it 2 days ahead of schedule. I really feel that this company is honest and extremely customer-​focused.

These guys are awesome. I had a little bumper accident (my bad) and was referred to C&H by my insurer. I shopped around a bit, but they were just so helpful and easy to work with that I crossed my fingers and went with them based on the good Unilocal reviews. I was not disappointed! They did great work, kept me informed even though I was on an overseas trip during the repairs, informed me once it was done so I could cancel my just-​in-​case rental car, and even washed the dusty beast for me! Very pleased with my new bumper. Hope never to need more body work, but if I do C&H will be the first place I call! Thanks Dorena and team

Great shop! Had some minor scuffing on the rear bumper from a garage fender-​bender. I found C&H on USAA’s list and from the reviews here I selected them to do the work, Very professional and speedy estimate service. However, as with most reputable auto body shops on the island they have a backlog of work; coupled with my schedule limitations this equated to a couple of months before I could bring in the vehicle but again it was very minor cosmetic work so no worries.
The area damaged was repaired very well, and blended to the rest of the bumper however, the repairs were limited to just that section, which is fair. The work matched the estimate; no surprises there and the vehicle was ready in about 2 days, very good considering their busy workload.
To level set expectations, we need to understand that most auto body shops are slammed with insurance work and are on tight schedules to keep up with demand and maintain good ratings and relations with customers and these companies. Extras are not really encouraged and I guess it’s understandable for daily drivers. I had mentioned getting the entire bumper redone as there were some cracks in the paint on the opposite side from previous self-​inflicted damage, and this was initially entertained, with a notional cost to do the work. I also mentioned I was interested in repairing a door ding but this was discouraged due to the location of the ding and the need to repair the entire door, all of which would cost a lot more than the insurance repair. However, this was still written up and I was given the option. When I dropped off the car, I opted not to fix the door so that was expected. However, I again expressed a desire to repair the rest of the bumper. While it was noted and mentioned the body techs would do some buffing in the area, it was made clear the scratches would not be gone, nor was there an offer to repair the area at additional cost to me. Again, not a big deal but the vehicle was going to be there so I thought we’d get as much done as possible.
By all means, go see these folks to have your repairs done, you will be happy with the work and it will get done as if the damage never happened. However, be reasonable and pragmatic that the damage is the real focus and not all the dents and dings we all accumulate over time.

You never want to have your car in an auto body shop but in Honolulu it’s more than likely that your car has been hit. I was sandwiched getting hit in the back and front on my way home. I called my insurance and they happened to be on the recommended list. This is where my experience with one of the best companies on the island began.
I called and they were more than helpful setting up an appointment. I can’t say enough how amazing they were squeezing me in on a busy day; and I truly appreciate them doing that for me. I took the car in they did an initial inspection and set an appointment. In life things like this happen at the worst time and I had limited time to get the vehicle fixed. They again squeezed me in for the repairs and completed them in less time than believed. I have to say they are the most proficient shop on the island. Their customer service was beyond what I was expecting and they made this entire experience painless. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone that is looking for repairs. The people are superstars and truly made me feel like they were taking care of everything.

I borrowed my in-​laws car for the week while we were vacationing and I made a minor scratch on the bumper. My in-​laws told me it was fine but I wanted to fix it. I took the car to C&H Auto Body and explained the situation that I am in Honolulu for a short period of time and I need it fixed before I left. Dawna promised that it will be fixed before I left and they delivered! The bumper looked great! I couldn’t even tell it was scratched before. Whew!
C&H does great work and their customer service is awesome!

The guys at C and H are flawless and professional. I can’t say better things about Dawna in the front and the talented artists who worked on my bringing back my ride to pristine status.
These superstars made a painful process easy to deal with. They arranged for a rental car pick up in their lobby, dealt with the insurance company on my behalf and kept me informed through the entire process.
I never want to deal with body work again but am comforted in knowing that help will always be near.

C & H did a great job on my Mercedes Ben E500. I got into my first small accident and I totally freaked out. I was so unhappy that the driver hit my car at one of the worse times, which was after work traffic and I had a lot of things going on in my life already. My car was damaged and making squeaking noises and I was so unhappy with it. Of course, bad things always happen all at once, right? Anyways, it helped a lot that my insurance company, USAA, was so understanding and helped me every step along the way. They recommended C&H Body & Fender and I’m glad they did. Dawna was great and very understanding of my situation. She helped us with getting a rental and communicated with both my husband and I to ensure that we knew what was going on with our vehicle. I felt that Dawna and the rest of the staff really went above and beyond. Though this accident wasn’t the experience I wanted, my insurance company and C & H really did everything in their power to help correct it and I am happier than ever with my vehicle because of their excellent customer service!

We truly want to thank C&H Body and Fender for their great customer service, and their honesty. Our van was in their shop for 4weeks. The damage that was inflicted was, I thought pretty easy to fix but low and behold, more complicated than I thought. C&H kept us informed every step of the way regarding the status of our van. Even though the part was on back order, and took forever to come in, they worked expeditiously to get our van back to us. We even appreciated the personal touch of washing down and vacuuming our van before it came back to us. Thank you C&H Body and Fender for your wonderful, caring customer service. We are truly satisfied and not to mention very happy with the work that you did for our van. We will be sure to recommend your shop to whomever needs body work on their car!

A great professional staff from the time I first called till I drove away with a finished truck. Very good at follow-​up calls. My truck was fixed on time and within the quoted price even though insurance paid for it. They were thorough in fixing the damage to almost new condition. The only gripe is there were minor scratches on the top edge near the passenger side back window of my truck bed. But overall I’m happy.

Was recommended to me by the AllState Appraiser. Checked Unilocal and saw the already great reviews so decided to take my car there for the repair work.
Picked up my car today and it looks awesome. Great work. Would definitely take my car to them again.

Great customer service. Replaced fender repainted it under insurance I had some rock chips on front end paid a little extra to remove rock chips and paint front end. Wasn’t fully satisfied a day after bringing the car home brought it back he immediately took it in and buffed it or something I came back a few hours later and it was perfect. They even replaced warn out parts threw the insurance. I’m completely satisfied

My brother recommended the place after I had a minor incident (took my side mirror off). I called, and Lanny said I could come on down so he could take a look at it. He walked me through options, we ordered the part and when it came in he got me in right away. It was only later that I discovered they are actually pretty solidly booked. Thanks Lanny for making the time! I also needed new tires, and he arranged for the car to be taken to Lex up the street and back again, saving me the trouble. This is a place where they take pride in good service, go the extra mile without necessarily telling you about it, and you leave the place without wondering if you paid too much. C and H will definitely be my first call if I need work done on a car again.

We came here due to damage done on our bright red Honda Fit. A driver in an adjacent parking stall pulled out, hit the motorcycle next to our car and the motorcycle fell against our drivers side door. The driver was nice and honest enough to leave his name and phone number. So I worked with his insurance company and decided to go with C&H since it was one of their recommended and authorized body shops. After the estimate was done, I was told by the insurance company that I wasn’t required to go here if I had another body shop I wanted to go to instead. I chose to stay with C&H due to the following.
The staff here was very friendly and communication during the initial process was excellent. This continued throughout the whole process with daily updates on where the repairs were and when the completion will occur. Needless to say they finished ahead of schedule. When I picked up the car, it was also washed and vacuumed.
This overall experience has been positive and the work was excellent (see photos of before and after). If ever I need to get body work, I will do so with C&H.

2 months ago my wife 2013 BMW 550i was hit from the back, C&H with leni and Dawana took care of the damage with an amazing time and absolute incredible work, they took care of every little detail in the car and assure us that if we have ANY issue what so ever, they will tale care of it. We were extremely happy.
Of curse with my luck, 2 weeks later I hit someone from the back making a lot of damage to my front 2013 BMW X5, I asked from my insurance to only go back to C&H to take care of the repair, and that was an other smart decision,
C&H crew are absolutely incredible!!! there are really no other way to describe the way that shop is operating, they knew it will take a while for all the original parts to arrive, they offered me to wait an other 2 weeks until their loner car will be available, I did.
I dropped off the car and they gave me the loner to take care of my needs.
After 2 weeks car is ready, bran spanking new.
In addition, all along the process leni and Dawana kept me updated.
This is the BEST SHOP you could find in the state for ALL YOUR CAR NEEDS.

Lanny and his crew made an extremely unpleasant situation (getting in an accident) about as good as it could be. They repaired the car and checked for hidden damages. All the while staying in touch with me, letting me know what was happening every step of the way. Top notch crew that does good work with good service.

My truck got hit by someone changing lanes from a backed up lane. Got some damage that insurance was willing to take care of. I looked at the approved list from USAA Insurance and these guys were on the list. I had a recommendation from a friend to use C&H Body & Fender, they were locally owned, and the shop seemed pretty good based on their website and the estimate visit. C&H took care of all the paperwork and even tried to check with USAA about other minor damages I had on my truck I didn’t know I had. USAA declined to cover the additional damage deemed it was existing and could not have possibly be part of the accident. I was okay with that, it was very minor scratches. I scheduled my truck for a Monday and estimated to be done by Thursday. When I arrived on Monday, they called Enterprise right away to get a driver on his way to pick me up for a rental. They took my truck, and I waited for Enterprise. Enterprise was taking a very long time to arrive and C&H called them numerous times to get an update. Eventually, I got my rental. Fast forward a few days, Wednesday, and C&H called to say my truck was done, early. I went over to pick it up and inspected the work. From afar, it was perfectly blended, looked it like nothing happened, truck was washed and it was clean. Upon closer inspection, that’s where the true work started to show. The gas door was not removed when blended, and it showed around the door’s corners, very rough and obvious that the door was resprayed. Numerous left over compound on the paint from when they buffed the paint, and the fender fenders, which were plastic, replaced and painted, had rough spots on it like there was dust when they sprayed it. It was poor craftsmanship, and they did not pay attention to details. Despite my complaints, they offered to take care of it. Took the truck in the next day, and they buffed out the rough spots, giving me warning that it will become glossier and may not match the other plastic painted surfaces. I’d say go ahead and do what you can, the truck should have been repaired back to or better than before the accident. They buffed it out while I waited, 20 minutes, and it was fixed fairly well. I would have preferred that they get it right the first time, but without being unreasonable and asking to order another part and spray it again, this fix sufficed. Minus 1 start for not paying attention to detail, and minus another star for poor craftsmanship. Had they payed attention to detail, and fixed the issues before giving me the truck back, they would have had a full 5 stars. It was an inconvenience for me to go back, and a grief that could have been avoided.

Family owned business. I shopped around for places to take my new Range Rover Evoque to and I saw a bunch of places that were dumpy and unprofessional looking. AllState recommended C & H and after going there, I was very impressed with their clean and professional looking shop.
I had a driver’s side door ding and needed a new door shell. They ordered it through Land Rover and it came all the way from England in a couple weeks (not many places stock that part, so it had to be shipped. For more common cars, I don’t think the wait would be long at all… if any). The door shell came in ahead of time. I dropped my car off on a Wednesday and hitched rides around town with friends for a few days. When I was told that they might need the weekend to dry the paint, C & H gave me a loaner car for free! I was totally impressed by that. They saved me a ton of money. I picked the car up on Monday morning and it was like brand new.
Overall, excellent service, very friendly, professional, and a great place to take your «baby» for repairs. I highly recommend!

I recently got a little «owie» on the front corner of the left front fender on my recently purchased used/​low mileage — what was in NEAR MINT CONDITION — Toyota Voodoo Blue FJ Cruiser. Made the claim with my insurance company, to which both my adjuster and estimator highly recommended C & H Body & Fender, not only for their reputation for doing GREAT work, but also because they have loaner vehicles. The latter of which being an irony of sorts for this review.
Because they were so busy (a good sign!), all their loaner cars were out, and there was a 3 week waiting list in order to get a loaner car while my FJ was in the body shop. Not wanting to wait, and having access to my own «loaner car» (thanks Mom!), I immediately took my «blue baby» FJ to the shop for repairs, as Lanny, who is the husband of the owner’s daughter, told me, in order to get at the front of the «loop» (all the cars they’re currently working on in the shop), for fastest repair, bring it in NOW.
Keep in mind, even if the damage on your vehicle looks «minor» from the outside — as I thought was the case for my vehicle — there could be hidden damage beneath the body panel. Sure enough, when they took the fender and headlight harness off, they discovered the headlight mount was cracked. So instead of a 4 working day turnaround, which is usually the case for «minor» body repairs, it took a bit longer than expected. The reason being they had to fly in a new headlight harness, as the more rare Toyota FJ Cruiser parts aren’t as readily available as say, Carolla or Camry parts.
Not a prob’. Just do the job right and make my FJ baby look like it NEVER had an accident.
Sure enough, after dropping her off to the «hospital» on a Thursday, the following Friday when I went to get her, she was as GOOD AS NEW. C & H matched the Toyota «Voodoo Blue» paint PERFECTLY. Lucky me, my insurance estimator also requested a «blend» on the hood. What a «blend» is, is when they sand down the clear coat of an adjoining body panel, then as they spray the repaired panel, they also «blend» the base color coat halfway onto the adjoining panel, which where in my case was the hood. Then they spray a clear coat over both the repaired panel (mine being the fender), and the adjoining panel (the hood in my case). While my paint color doesn’t have any metallic or pearl in it, «blends» are especially critical for those cars that do have that. Still, the «Voodoo Blue» is also an unusual color, and was concerned how well they could match it. And they did. C & H NAILED IT!!! And they didn’t do no «tape job», but took the necessary parts off to paint it. No visible tape lines whatsoever. Nice!
So I scored a brand new paint job on the hood as well. Woo-​hoo! Gone were the slightly visible water spots that I just could not polish out with wax. Both the fender AND hood’s finish is FLAWLESS now. No ripples, dull spots or drips at all. The hood’s finish looks like «glass» now. BEAU-​TI-​FUL!
My FJ now looks BETTER than when I bought it in near-​mint condition. Now it’s back to MINT!
For further peace-​of-​mind, C & H uses DuPont auto paint, featuring a high-​tech spectrometer and data-​base computerized color matching system, which according to C & H, the result being a much higher quality finish than most factory paints.
C & H are also GREAT in customer service, with excellent communication, calling me whenever there were concerns on the job (in this case, the wait for parts). They also went the extra mile and — since not having loaners — one of their technicians (the owner’s son) drove me back to my office down the street after dropping off my car for the repair. Awesome!
I checked out a number of other repaired cars that rolled out of their shop, and the jobs were all so flawless, I actually had to ask the Lanny the estimator what work had been done, and even he had to look good to find where the body repairs were made. These guys match paint to the T, even with factory metallics and pearls.
Hopefully you won’t (knocks on wood), but if you get into an accident and are in search of a good body shop, I highly, HIGHLY recommend C& H Body and Fender. The customer service is excellent, and most importantly, their work is SUPERB. They’ll make your damaged vehicle look as good if not better than new again. They did that for me, and I thank you very much C & H for healing my baby. Muwah!!! You guys are the BEST!

C and H is a small family owned Body Shop in Kalihi. It is as good as it gets. I’m not proud of this, but, I have experienced 4 different body shops on Oahu in the last 15 years. C and H is the best by far!
They even remembered me from my previous visit about a year before and were happy to see me. This time, It was not my fault! The guy backed into me… he even admitted it.
The reason I know they are the best is because the repair was done quickly, perfectly and I got a loaner car for no charge. No hassle. I was happy happy happy.
My previous auto body experience was at UniBodyTech in Mapunapuna. So there is a knock on my door at home. I open the door and there is this nervous cop standing there with his hand near his gun holster. He informs me that my Honda Civic had just been involved in an attempted auto theft. I think he was expecting to discover a Chop Shop at my house. Turns out my wife drove the car to work and it was stolen while she was working. The kids used our car to steal another one. The auto theft detail spent several days watching my stolen car and when the kid spotted the unmarked police van he took my poor little Civic and rammed the cop van!
Sadly the whole thing was damaged 360 degrees. Except for about 12 inches on the back bumper. And that 12 inches had some pre existing damage (indentations in the plastic painted bumper) which I admitted to right up front. UniBodyTech went to great effort to ensure that they fixed the whole car except for the 12 inches of indentations in the bumper. Don’t get me started !! The work they did was obviously poor. After the 4^th trip there and one call to the president of AIG the car was finally fixed.
C and H is the opposite of that. They are friendly. They will negotiate with the Insurance co. if needed and the car is fixed with out drama. Love it.
5 Stars for sure. Hope I never have to go back. But, I recommend C and H to others in their time of need with full confidence.
