My sister finally had her lower eyelids done a few days ago to remove the«bags» that were making her look so tired. She’s on day five of her healing process and can’t be happier with the results. Now that makes 4 out of 5 members of my family who has had cosmetic eye procedures done by Carl Minatoya, We are so thrilled with the results. His years of experience definitely is reflected in the beautiful results on all my sisters and Mother!

Rude, arrogant, immature, treats his patients as if they’re completely ignorant, and he doesn’t listen. A great surgeon and a LOUSY doctor. The most uncaring health«professional» I’ve ever had the displeasure of having visited. The last day I saw him, instead of wishing me well, he coldly stated that my eye was too badly damaged and that he didn’t think anyone could do anything for me. He made it quite clear that his concern only went as far as the eye, and anything beyond that was incidental, if not an obstacle to avoid. After having been assaulted by 4 youths with clubs and suffering the loss of use of my left eye, he was willing to approve a ridiculously short period of recovery, 2 weeks! I found a more caring GP who gave me over 2 years. At one time a suture knot became unburied, causing extreme irritation and discomfort during a trip home for Xmas. When I saw him again and told him, his response was a very childish«so???», as if it were a criticism of his work. When he proceeded to remove it from my eye under local anesthesia, he yelled at me constantly«come on!» when I found it difficult to sit still while he dug into my eye with a sharp instrument. I was too stunned to follow up with a complaint, as I should have done. I just wanted to get away from the guy lest he start throwing instruments around the room! Minatoya constantly misstated the circumstances of my injury, claiming that I’d «gotten into a fight» with someone with a baseball bat. While the injuries sustained suggested a baseball bat was the instrument of their infliction, he continued to repeat this to his colleagues, despite having been corrected on numerous occasions. Another injury I sustained was a broken nose. While his only comment was«it looks okay to me», the first words spoken by the ENT I consulted were«boy do you have a broken nose». When I informed Minatoya of this, he just shrugged dismissively. While he may act polite and caring, it’s just a mask concealing a «doctor» that displays the worst aspects of surgeons who can’t relate to a patient that’s awake. As long as you’re asleep in the OR he’s okay. Beyond that, find someone else!
