Unfriendly. Cold. Indifferent. Arrogantly precise. He doesn’t like to say ANYTHING twice. He doesn’t like to explain things. He comes in, does his thing, and vanishes. He’s old, been doing this too many years, and should retire. The assistants are left with re-explaining things. Don’t expect warmth, comforting words or encouragement.

Yet another yearly eye check up. First of all I am struck by how this office is very old school. I mean renovation is not in their sights but why? It still works so there is no need to fix it. Dr. Chee has it down like a factory or like a bee collecting pollen from the flowers… buzzing from to another… quickly. So from one room to another buzzzzzzzzzzzz ok NEXT! We go thru a gamut of machines that measure and check out then finally to the«which is clearer…1st one or the 2nd one» apparatus. The thing that I dont like is that they dont use some type of liner to buffer between the machine and the face. I guess there was a lady that was tested before me and it wreaked old lady perfume. What made it worse is that I had that smell on me until I went home and washed my face! YUCK! Other than that its a great office to get your bidness done.

I’ve been wearing glasses and contacts all my life and have seen a lot of optometrists which he is quick to point out he is not. Anyways I had the same experience as the previous poster. Dr Chee was able to quickly tell me things about my eyes that I didn’t know. His office staff and is also very friendly and efficient. The guy runs a tight ship. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Chee is great. He’s very busy so he can’t be nice and chatty but he is definitely 100% ONPOINT. On my first appointment, he examined my eyes for 5 minutes and was able to tell me things I’ve NEVER heard from any other Ophthalmologist. I really hope he’s mentoring someone with his knowledge and many years of experience. 4 out of 5 because: 1) As I said, he’s busy. Too busy to *talk* to patients. I like nice doctors. Dr. Chee(although he is THEBEST) would scare and probably make kids cry. 2) He dilated my eyes without telling me. I was stuck walking back to my office through downtown Honolulu during lunch hour with those riDONKulous paper sunglasses on.
