I would recommend this place to anyone. Went here with my family and I’ll definitely be back. One of the best dinners I’ve had in a while. Also, our server Sheldon was very friendly and his service was on point.

When we arrived here and checked in for our reservation last night, they didn’t have our reservation at all. And based on the conversation that I had with one of the hostesses at that time, we were planning to leave because they didn’t apologize or show any empathy, as I made the res myself and informed them what transpired at the time I made the res. Instead, they just informed us that they would try and fit us in within 20 minutes. We decided to stay and waited outside. Within 20 – 30 minutes another hostess came out to seat us. She was very apologetic, gave us a booth as requested with the original res, and proceeded to pour our glasses with water. After that, we were glad we decided to stay because of the service and food that we received for the rest of the night. a. Our waiter Cole was very nice, personable, and provided us with very good service. b. We ordered the Tiger Prawns, the Asian Braised Osso Bucco, and the Deconstructed Pot Pie, which all were very delicious. For dessert we had a complimentary dessert for the birthday girl, and we ordered the Peanut Butter Opera. Both were very divine. In summary, we were glad we decided to stay and dine here, despite the mishap that we experienced when we arrived.

Disclaimer: I went here for a lunch seminar, so this review is based on a lunch buffet. Parking is valet and for my luncheon, the valet parking was free(tip not included). The interior of Chef Chai’s is cozy and highly decorated, very nice. I have no idea how the seating situation is during regular service, but for our luncheon, the tables seated 8 per table. Nice, clean line, clean floors, clean everything, including the restroom. There was a separate salad table and hot entrée table. First, the salad had 2 types, can’t remember exactly what they were, but one of them had large, split in half shrimp, and the dressing tasted of lemongrass. I could have just at this salad as my lunch, it was so good! On the entrée table, there was thai curry chicken, a spicy eggplant, grilled fish with a curry sauce, and a couple items I can’t remember(sorry, I’m reviewing a week late) but I can say that everything was absolutely delicious! For dessert, we had a vanilla ice cream in the shape of a heart with a hard, white chocolate shell and a raspberry sauce on the bottom. Inside the center was a guava sorbet. Perfect ending to this great meal! The servers here are top notch, kept the beverages full and was very pleasant and professional. The food was so good that I almost forgot the reason why I was there, oh yeah, it was a seminar!

One of my favorite places on Oahu. Amazing food and great service. On our last visit the server gave us a free appetizer cause he thought we were waiting to long. I thought we were barely waiting. Love the décor and the location, valet parking for easy access.

The wait service at Chef Chai was horrible. Seemed like we angered the waiter for some reason. Could it be because we used a Groupon? Could it be that they were short of help? Was the waiter high? Either way, we really didn’t deserve what was almost abusive service. For our leftover takeout he boxed the rice haphazardly at our table, spilling some of the rice outside of the box!!! We were applauded. He rudely reached across and in front of our guests. After we completed our entrees we were left sitting with our plates in front of us for 20 minutes. Based on that we won’t recommend Chef Chai’s to anyone, in fact we will only share about the awful service of the staff, unfortunately it overshadowed the food!

Late review, this happened in September, but with school I did not have the chance to write this. Why the 1 star? Let me tell you why and it’s not because of the food, which is also mediocre, but because of the horrible service. I don’t know the name of our waitress but she was tall, blondeish, and had a French accent. At least it sounded French to me.(OK from looking at other reviews I guess her name is SANDRA). My friends took me here for MY birthday so of course when it came to the bill they did not allow me to see it. But I mean being here once before and knowing what we ordered, I knew it would be at least over $ 100. They paid the bill(which was about $ 140) and left a 15% tip(should be about $ 21 or so, they left $ 22). Anyway, after receiving the tab our waitress went in the back and all of a sudden came STORMING back to our table. She asked us if there was something wrong with her service because we only gave her 8% tip. While asking us she said this in a very passive aggressive voice. My friends were confused and didn’t know how to respond because they had left 15%, they told her nothing was wrong. And she continued to tell us that in America, people usually tip at least 15−18% on average, and she did not understand why we gave her less. Instead of letting us explain she quickly gave us back the entire check, crumpled the receipt, and threw the check back on the table. I didn’t know what was going on and at the time I still didn’t know how much the bill was and how much they tipped. But when she ran away from us I of course quickly grabbed the check so I could see what she was talking about. I am also a server and have worked in the industry for about 6 years now. My friends have not, so I wanted to make sure this whole situation got settled. I was very upset at this point because it’s my birthday and as a server, even if someone gives you ZERO tip, you have no right to say SHIT. And for professionalism, with my customers I never look at the tip amount before they leave. Anyway while my friends are on the shyer side, I was not about to let this shit slide. In the service industry, you are not supposed to act like that. I got a hold of a manager and told him what happened and that we were very thrown back by her behavior, he apologized and told us that our waitress did seem distraught and that he would talk to her when he got a chance. So he went to the back and never came back. Didn’t offer us anything, didn’t make our waitress apologize to us, NOTHING. I feel like he didn’t really know what to say or what to do. She just kept waiting on her other tables. I am so fucking pissed with the management of this place and will let everyone I know not to come here or just not to go if the French woman is working because that is no way to treat a customer. Why do you even work in the service industry? And do you even know elementary math? We left the $ 22 on the table for her, but we should have just took the money back because she did not deserve it at all. Trust me, I will not be back to this establishment.

Went last night for my birthday [12/22]; this would be our first time dining here with my hubby, 15 yrs old son and 11 yrs old daughter. When we first walked in, it was pretty impressive. I thought the dining area was really beautiful, then the hostess lead us to a small room passed the beautiful dining area. This room is like an extension that had a partition wall(maybe for a private party). It was not completely open, just partially, like a peek-a-boo zig zag(enough so you can walked though and see in but not completely). There were a few tables in there w/diners. She then led us to the end table against the wall. Right behind my chair had what appears to be an exit door and to my left was a counter/wet bar like with their supplies. The décor on this side is completely different from the main dining area.(2 chandelier made of wine glass and the wall had a chic looking brick décor but it still felt plain) It felt like, we did a walk through a penthouse suite then ended up in a standard room without a view. Initial reaction was WTF! So before I sat down(I think the hostess could sense that I did not like where she led us to) I politely asked if there was a table available in the main dining room and she said yes and led us back to the beautiful area right in the middle behind the gorgeous Christmas tree. Our server w/a pretty French accent was fabulous. We all had the prix fixe dining @ $ 65 each. Higher w/the wine paring. Instead of bread and butter to start you with, Chef Chai serves complimentary grilled satay chicken on stick w/Thai peanut sauce; pickled cucumber; and warm Asian flatbread like pita bread.(really good!) She was so thoughtful to ask if anyone had any allergies and I replied that my daughter is allergic to peanut and she made a note of that and quickly moved the complimentary tray away from her and pointed at the Thai peanut sauce. My daughter enjoyed the pita bread though. The appetizer sampler: fresh ahi w/yellow wasabi curry; kataifi w/mac nut crusted jumbo prawns; roasted butternut squash w/lobster bisque shooter; baked stuffed crabcakes w/spicy mango salsa; and some kind a wonton w/cheese.(all yummy!) Followed by organic greens w/smoked duck breast, toasted pecan, tear drop tomato, beets, pear w/tangerine vinaigrette.(oh so good!) My daughter thought the dressing was a little sour so our lovely server offered her another dressing. By this time, we were almost stuffed! For the main entrée: I had the miso sea bass. Oh my! The fish was like butter! It was cooked perfectly and it just melts in your mouth delicious! I ate it all! The 3 all had the beef tenderloin w/mashed potatoes topped w/mushroom puff baked bread. They said, it was good but all had theirs to go just because they were so full. For dessert: They gave a complimentary b-day dessert which was the ice cream covered w/white chocolate shape like a heart w/raspberry purée. Excellent and oh so pretty! My 2 kids had the same and hubby and I had their cheesecake topped w/coconut shavings. We all loved the ice cream and the cheesecake was also delicious but I wished they didn’t have the coconut. The cheesecake was light, not heavy like the normal kind, with a hint of like sponge cake, and I like that it wasn’t very sweet. For first timers, I would really recommend the prix fixe menu just so you get to sample different dishes in one sitting. We will definitely return but I’ll make sure to request to be seated in the main dining area only.

We sat on the bar for Happy Hour and enjoyed it! Anthony was very attentive and provided great recommendations. The happy drink menu is fabulous because they serve prosecco! The happy hour food menu is delightful too. This is what we ate: *Fresh Ahi Tartar in Mini Waffle Cones The ahi tartar fresh and delicious. *Fresh Shigoku Oysters on Ice with Lemongrass Garlic Mignonette. Nicely shucked. Loved the mignonette! *Rosemary Garlic Pork Tenderloin with Chinese Buns, Hoisin and Scallions. Yummy and flavorful grilled pork. The buns are perfect texture. There are two to an order. Order two orders because you will immediately want more. Seafood Tortellini with Lobster Sauce, Sautéed Corn and Edamame The seafood tortellini was my favorite. The lobster sauce makes this dish. So flavorful!- Fresh Ahi Katsu with Wasabi Yellow Curry Sauce and Mango Tomato Salsa The ahi katsu is always a delicious standard here. The yellow curry sauce is good but a bit heavy for the katsu. I prefer shoyu and wasabi.

So I finally used up all my Groupons and vouchers from LivingSocial and am definitely a fan of Chef Chai. I went to Chai’s a couple of times when they were in Aloha Tower and didn’t really care for it but this location has that«vibe» that matches Chai’s food much better… modern but still comforting. The items that I really liked were the Poke in mini waffle cones with avocado crema, Crispy asian duck breast tacos with spicy salsa, and the Kurobuta pork osso bucco. All of these dishes hit the eurasian points perfectly. One other dish I thought was above the mark was the Lemongrass oxtail soup, this dish had really good flavor. I brought half of it home and thoroughly enjoyed it the next day for lunch. One thing I should mention is Chai’s signature dish… the Katifi crusted jumbo tiger prawns. I’m allergic to shellfish so couldn’t try it but Mark H said this was the best prawn dish he’s ever had… and that’s including eating at Mavro and Alan Wong’s, now that definitely says a lot about this dish. The finishing dish for the Groupon and LS voucher was the White chocolate amore in raspberry sauce, a very decadent dessert. It’s a nice balance of tart and sweet. Chef Chai’s is definitely a must try if you’ve never been.

I came here with my hubby and son for my birthday dinner. It was actually last minute because since it was a Tuesday my husband didn’t think we needed to make reservations at other places we wanted to go to. The atmosphere was very nice and the service was great! We were given a complimentary appetizer dish of chicken skewers, naan, picked veggies, and coconut curry. All very good. We decided to get my 11 year old son an appetizer dish thinking he would never finish a main dish. We were wrong! We ordered him the pork tenderloin in the Chinese steamed bun. It came out as two small sliders. Poor thing. Was still hungry so We had to get him McDonald’s on the way home! I ordered the whole crispy fish and my husband ordered the lamb chops. Both dishes were very good but unfortunately we both felt that it was too over priced. Sorry Chef Chai!

Disclaimer: this review is ONLY based on Restaurant Week 2015! So its been a couple years since I tried out a restaurant week menu. A friend and I were curious to try something fancier than our usual plate lunch that wouldn’t break the bank like some of the other tasting menus. Eventually, we decided on Chef Chai’s $ 505 course restaurant week menu! We went on a Thursday night after class and I was surprised to see a full house… good thing we were able to make a reservation online a couple nights before or we would have never gotten a table. Although our reservation was for 7:30pm and we arrived about 10 minutes early, we were seated immediately as we arrived which I thought was really nice! To start, I got a mule cocktail mixed with lilikoi, and it was quite strong and yummy! I also asked our server to pair my entrée(petite beef tenderloin) with a glass of wine and he said they’d be happy to do so. Our servers were very helpful and walked us through every dish. When we had questions(aka in what order should things be eaten?) they were quick with pointers and suggestions. This was especially the case with our pupu sampler, our first dish of the night! There were 4 things to try, and we did so in the suggested order: butternut squash/lobster bisque shooter, ahi katsu, duck breast taco, and baked/seafood stuffed clam. Everything on the sampler was great! Next were the chicken skewers with Thai peanut sauce, quickly followed by a fancy tempura-ish prawn over salad. There was one skewer for each person, and they came with pita bread pieces. I saw other tables that weren’t participating in restaurant week also receive this dish, so I think its actually just a complimentary appetizer they do in place of dinner rolls or regular bread. The salad came pre-dressed and usually I don’t like this, but the tangerine dressing they used was too good! If they sold the dressing by the bottle I would have bought 2 bottles on the spot. The prawn on the salad was so pretty — I had a hard time figuring out how to eat it! After all of this, we were already getting sort of full… but then out came the entrees! I go the petite beef tenderloin which came with cooked veggies and my friend opted for the king salmon with veggies and brown rice. Both dishes were perfectly cooked — the salmon that I got to sample was so soft, and the sauce was both sweet and spicy. The tenderloin was also very tasty and soft, as I had requested it to be cooked medium rare. Since we wanted to save room for dessert, we ended up boxing ½ of our entrees each… perfect for lunch the next day! For dessert, I chose the coconut cheesecake and my friend chose the white chocolate ice cream heart with raspberry/guava sauce. The coconut cheesecake was just right, not too coconutty and not too rich. I had a bad experience where I got a coconut dessert not too long ago that ended up tasting like sunscreen so I was a little skeptical to try Chai’s cheesecake, but there was no sunscreen-smelling dessert here! My friend also enjoyed the ice cream heart. I’ve had Chai’s ice cream heart many times while traveling on Hawaiian Airlines, and the one my friend got was exactly the same as all of those airplane hearts! The only difference was that there was way more raspberry/guava sauce which made it much more fruity. If you ever get the heart, look for the small sherbet ball surprise in the middle of the heart! Valet parking is available for $ 5 on the ewa side of the restaurant, or if you’re going late enough you can try to find street parking on Kapiolani and other side streets. We opted for valet because it was pouring outside. The valet guy had misplaced our key which was a little scary, but thankfully it was just hiding between the other key tags hanging in their key closet. Besides that minor incident, Chef Chai was AMAZING and I’d definitely love to come back during a future restaurant week, happy hour, or when I make more $$! TL;DR — reservations recommended, valet parking, and awesome restaurant week menu!

As Restaurant Week decended upon our Honolulu, my dining companion and I decided to dine at Chef Chai’s. Good choice. I had previously gone to Chai’s for an event, but never got to dine in. It was an enjoyable dinner for sure. We were seated immediately and our server brought over our menus after we mentioned we were here for the Restaurant Week dinner. After taking our drink orders, our first dish soon arrived. It’s a starter that is regularly served in the restaurant that consists of Grilled Chicken Sate’ with Thai Peanut Sauce and Asian Flat Bread. I wasn’t aware that you could have requested for more, but I will next time! Next was an Appetizer Sampler that was served that featured their Fresh Ahi Katsu with Wasabi Curry Sauce. The Ahi was prepared perfectly, red on the inside and with a crisp crust outside. The sauce was very spicy, but very good. My personal favorite from the sampler had to be the Baked Stuffed Cherrystone Clam with Shrimp, Lobster and Scallops. I will order this off of the menu next time for sure! The Roasted Butternut Squash and Lobster Bisque Shooter was very tasty. Last, but not least, there was s Smoked Duck Breast Taco with Mango Salsa. It was also very good. The First Course was a Big Island Baby Greens Salad with Tangerine Vinaigrette. Served with it was a Kataifi and Macadamia Nut Crusted Jumbo Black Tiger Prawn that was fabulous! Great presentation to say the least! We had a choice of Entrees, my companion went with the Petite Beef Tenderloin that was topped with Five Spice Demi Roasted Leeks, Baby Carrots, Shiitake Mushrooms and Haricot Vert. I got to sneak a piece of that Tenderloin and it lived up to it’s name, tender. Prepared perfectly, medium rare. I went with the Miso Chilean Seabass with Pickled Vegetables and I was not disappointed! Chilean Seabass is a white meat fish, very flaky and can easily be overcooked. It was impeccably prepared and the Miso glaze was absolutely tasty. This dish came with steamed White Rice which paired well with the dish. Apparently our salad was mistakenly passed over in the order in which the dishes were served and it was brought to our attention by our server. We happily explained to him that it was no big deal and we would happily be ok with it being served with our entrée. Unbeknownst to us, the manager came over to us and graciously apologized for the mix up and again, we explain with a smile that it was perfectly ok with us. He then told us that he’d comp us our dessert and instead of one selection, he’d give us all three. Such a nice gesture by them. We were on dessert overload, getting to sample the Coconut Cheesecake with Tahitian Vanilla Crème Anglaise, Frankie’s Nursery Honey Cream Pineapple and our personal favorite, the White Chocolate Amore Truffle with Raspberry Guava Purée. If you’ve never tried this one before, make sure you do! There’s a reason so many people post pictures of it, it’s a delight to look at and it’s excellent! We truly enjoyed our dinner and the great service that we received from Chai’s. They make sure your dining experience with them is a memorable one, worthy of a great restaurant. We will be back again another day. Thank you, Chef Chai’s.

Chef Chai has a great environment and the food is pretty good. Their complementary starter, chicken satay, was absolutely delicious. The peanut sauce was amazing. We also got an escargot dish that reminded me of Taiwan(for some reason). I got the Ossco Buco Pork for my entrée. At first, they gave me the wrong dish but finished my dish pretty quickly. I thought it was an okay dish. The five spice made it pretty good though. For dessert, we shared a soufflé sampler that was absolutely decadent and delicious. Service was amazing except for the entrée mishap. Our server explained many dishes in great detail. Only valet parking but if you are lucky you can find free street parking. Highly recommend it!

Chef Chai is the most generous, kind hearted and incredible chef. At the recommendation of someone who had worked with Chef Chai, we were in search of an awesome caterer for our wedding. He served us free of charge and made sure we were happy with everything that came our way. Everything was magnificent. Fast forward to our wedding. Everyone was overwhelmed with how incredible our wedding dinner was! They were over the moon and to this day still talk about is tiger prawns and ribs. And my family and I could not agree more. Everything was phenomenal. At the end of the night we discovered our cake creator did not leave us boxes we asked for so that our guests could take home cake. Chef Chai came to our rescue and went out of his way to find all the little boxes he could find from a local restaurant and made a disaster totally not an issue anymore. He fixed EVERYSINGLE thing that went wrong. Chef Chai is absolutely amazing. Don’t go to anyone else for dinner or for catering, Chef Chai is your man. Not only are his dishes beautiful and delicious, they’re unique, fun and totally perfect combination of flavors that leave you absolutely satisfied in every way. If you’re looking for something really special and different, Chef Chai will take care of you from beginning to end. Complete with a full bar and amazing desert menu to finish your meal, there is nothing here you won’t absolutely love.

Such a disappointing experience this time. Reserved a table for four about 2 – 3 weeks prior. Good to go, right? Our friends arrived on-time last Saturday night(we were late) and were shown to the worst table — right next to the kitchen entrance. They opted for another table which was the second worst in the restaurant — right next to the hostess stand at the front door. When I walked in my first words were, «that’s the shittiest table». Yeah, it was. Jason, our server, was great as always. However, the restaurant let us down. Let me enumerate the ways: 1. Piss poor table 2. Slow table service due to kitchen problems 3. Two mains arrived fairly timely; both for the men at the table 3a. Third main, for my wife, came out about five minutes later 3b. Last main, for my friend(female) came out another 5 – 10 minutes later 4. Harry, the manager, then comes to «apologize» for the poor service. Instead he used excuses for why the mains took so long to come out and why there was a huge lapse in time between all four mains being served. Not once did he say, «I’m sorry». 5. Prawns for my wife were overcooked. My friend’s scallop pot pie was barely warm in the middle. The pot pie was the last main to come out of the kitchen So, we told Jason how disappointed we were. He admitted he’d sent the manager over to explain the delay/problems. Jason apologized for the problems and offered desserts — unfortunately, we’d run out of time as most of us were attending a show at the Blaisdell across the street. For this type of restaurant, I do expect perfection. They were nowhere near adequate. And for returning guests(this used to be our favorite restaurant on-island) to get such a crappy table and food service, having reserved well in advance, is unacceptable. Bummer, we’re used to impeccable food and service at Chai’s. This experience was nothing near that. While browsing Costco a couple days later, my wife and I talked about getting discount cards. «Nope, not after that fiasco meal a couple days ago». Will we return? Don’t know. Never thought I’d say that about Chai’s as we’d always loved our previous experiences there.

For my mom’s birthday, I was looking for something new to us and known for seafood. My mom loves miso butterfish, but I’ve taken her to Roy’s, Alan Wong’s and the other places known for seafood too many times. We have never been to Chai’s, so thought we would be adventurous. The décor is simple, and very nice. The service is great. Our waiter was Kyle. He was pretty transparent with his opinions about each dish which we appreciated. A very good waiter. They start the meal impressively. The waiter said, «Here is our bread service». I look up and see chicken satay with cucumber sunomo and a peanut dipping sauce with a flat bread similar to naan. What?! A bread service that includes meat… right on! We started the meal with ahi cones, tiger shrimp, pork loin with Chinese buns. All of the appetizers were creative, fun, and delicious. For my main course, I ordered the lamb chops. They were good as well. Perfectly seasoned. My only disappointed is that I was looking for more of a traditional steak. They serve filet mignon, but this is not a cut of meat that I like. My mom ordered the Miso Chilean Sea Bass, and she loved it! So, as the second son, I earned a few bonus points taking her out to dinner to a restaurant that had her favorite fish. Not that I knew Chai’s had Chilean Sea Bass. Valet parking is convenient, and they also have ample street parking after 6:00pm.

Almost forgot about our groupon voucher that I purchased back in April! So we finally set out to use it tonight! Good opportunity for a date night. The groupon deal is only honored from 4−6pm and 9 – 11 pm. This was my first time at Chai’s and I must say the space is beautiful! Stunning modern look and feel. We were seated at a table for two along a wall with a long bench. You are pretty close to the next table but it was not an issue. They even had a beautiful pillow to use as a back rest. It’s all about the details… Our server Thomas was great! Attentive and informative. Ok and of course the meal! Starter: Chicken satay with yummy thai peanut sauce, cucumber salad, and Asian flat bread First Course: Combination appetizer platter, including: Ahi katsu with wasabi curry sauce Kataifi and macademia-nut-encrusted jumbo black tiger prawns Gravlax salmon roulade with cream cheese and crab meat Roasted butternut squash and lobster bisque shooter Main Course: beautiful piece of salmon melted in your mouth as well as fall of the bone pork with deep rich demi glacé Braised kurobuta pork osso bucco with Asian five spices and baby vegetables Grilled wild New Zealand king salmon with kabayaki sauce and spicy pineapple Steamed white rice or steamed coconut milk ginger brown rice Dessert: stunning presentation and we got one truffle each! I thought we would share one but good thing cause I ate the whole damn thing! No problem! Heart-shaped white-chocolate gelato truffle with a raspberry-guava purée This was a winner hands down from the service to the food to the great deal! We may just have to do this again! I had dinner with the mister here last week. It was one of the better meals I’ve had in a while. We had a Groupon, dinner for two for $ 99. When we got there, they actually had an early bird special, which was $ 40 for a four course meal. That might be a better deal. For the Groupon deal, you got the starter; which was chicken satay with peanut sauce, cucumber salad and Asian flat bread. Every single table in the restaurant got this. You don’t have to order it. They give this to you instead of bread, which other restaurants do. It was yummy and different. I don’t really care for bread but ate it with the peanut sauce. The chicken satay was flavorful. The cucumber salad wasn’t marinated enough. It was basically cucumber in a sugary vinegar sauce. The ahi tartar in mini waffle cones came next. This wasn’t with the Groupon deal but I just ordered it separately. I’ve seen pictures of it and really wanted to try it. It was amazing. There were six mini cones. The ahi was super fresh and the avocado mousse at the bottom of the cone just tied it all together. The next thing that came out was the combination appetizer. It consisted of ahi katsu, black tiger prawns, salmon roulade and lobster bisque. The best item on the plate was the lobster bisque. It had just a hint of sweetness to it and I could taste the minced lobster. The two pieces of tiger prawns were huge, fried and tasty. The salmon roulade and ahi katsu were ok. It wasn’t really ahi katsu, more of a blackened ahi. The inside of it was raw. The two entrees were next. They served king salmon and braised pork osso bucco. The salmon had a sweet glaze on it and was cooked perfectly. I just sampled this dish and gave it to the hubby since he doesn’t eat red meat. I ate the osso bucco. The salmon was the better of the two dishes. The meat of the osso bucco was tender but I didn’t care for the sauce. The pork still had that frozen, freezer meat smell to it, when I had put it in my mouth. Both entrees also came with rice. The dessert was awesome. It was heart shaped, white chocolate gelato in a raspberry and guava sauce. I loved this. It was so good. The service was top notch. The water glasses were always full. The waiter changed our plates after every course and cleaned the table with his scraper blade. He also explained every course that came out.
