Clear Internet

I’ve been using their service for 2 years now, too bad they are shutting down for upgrades.

Sprint has bought out «Clear» internet, formerly known as «Clearwire» which worked great for my purposes as i did not want to have to have a technician come to my house and have to set up their equipment. With clear, you got a modem and it came with an a/​c power plug and all you needed to do was pick a spot near a window and face the modems «back» toward one of their towers, plug it in and then run an ethernet cable (one is provided) from that to a router of your choice which youd need to purchase on your own. Then after that router is set up, just connect to that router wirelessly or run an ethernet line from the router to your device. It hardly ever had problems and i only had to call them once which i cant remember. So i cant comment on their customer service.
However, Sprint has now given notice that they are terminating ALL «Clear» accounts and services with the official cut off date being November 6^th 2015. Despite that official date, my internet has already been shut off since yesterday so thanks for that Sprint. Ironically, i also have Sprint as my cell phone provider and i am so sick of their services that i am switching companies once my contract is up. Clear might not have been perfect, but Sprint absolutely ruined them.

I have had problems with Clear Internet service for more than a year now. I was finally so disappointed and appalled by their lack of customer service that I was ready to cancel service with them a few months ago but was convinced to simply upgrade my equipment with a promise that it would solve the connection problems I was having.
My issue with Clear is not so much the actual internet service itself, although I will note that for several months now I have consistently (sometimes every 10 minutes that I am online) had my internet connection interrupted with no other option than to manually reset my modem and router in order to reestablish a connection. My real complaint with Clear is the way they have handled my repeated calls to their service center.
Each phone call has lasted between 45 minutes to an hour and a half, the majority of which I am being given instructions on how to manually reset my modem and router over and over again. The end result: they have no idea what is wrong and seem to be able to do nothing about it.
Not only am I wasting my time, and paying for my phone call (I have a cell phone), but I get no results and no offer of any compensation at all. I am still paying for internet service, but more than half the time I’m unable to actually use it.
My suggestion is to stay far away from Clear and their terrible customer service. If I were not leaving the island soon and unable to sign a contract with another carrier, I would terminate my Clear service NOW and look for another internet provider.
Terrible, terrible service.
