Cosmo-Yajima Service Station

My friend goes there often for car wash and service. I see they’re really favorable, a bit expensive but courteous and diligent about their work. I took my turn there when I wanted a security test and was quite happy with the service. Can not say I’d go for a full on car wash but I’d urge them anytime!

Safety check on the last day of the month? Yup, yesterday this was me. Driveway area very crowded however quick and friendly service so you’re not hanging around wondering what to do. I was in and out within 20 minutes! Impressive!

This is now my spot to wash my jeep. I literally had 4 guys on it the whole time. They even went as far as to getting under the hood due to it being muddy. Beyond happy with their service. Definitely will be recommending them from now on

Super friendly service! I was nervous about going because service stations aren’t exactly known for customer service, and it’s always crowded there and I didn’t know how to ‘work’ their system.
Apparently I worried for nothing! As soon as I pulled into the driveway, someone ran over to see what I needed, told me where to leave my car, and invited me to wait in the waiting room.
Unfortunately, I needed a car wash and safety check, but they told me the City & County’s system was down so they weren’t able to do safety checks until later. Not their fault at all, and they were apologetic. Made sure to communicate with me about the problem.
Definitely would return.
Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was that there was kind of a big patch on my car that seemed to have been missed… But maybe my car was just extra dirty? 5 stars for service though.
**Update** went back the next morning for the safety check… They don’t start doing those until 9:30 apparently. But again, someone approached me as soon as I arrived, and even as I was leaving, another guy approached me to see if I needed anything. A+!

This review is only for their car wash services. If your in town this is a great place to get your car washed, vacuumed, and detailed. They’re open from 7am to 5pm and have reasonable prices. A «full package» (wash, wax, vacuum, polymer seal) for an SUV/​Jeep would cost you $ 27 plus tax, while a midsize car would be $ 25 I believe. If you can beat the lines (ex. 7am — 8am) they’ll get your vehicle in and out within 15−20min! While your waiting they have a cool waiting area with couch, table, green tea machine, keurig, massage chair, and a rolling security camera that displays the cars being cleaned. Note that this place does get busy and when it does the lot gets full… so either be early or come on an odd day.

Two thumbs up for this spot. They are quick and efficient at what they do. My car was absolutely spotless and dripless when I got it back — like the day I first got it. Usually when I go to a car wash, as I drive away there is water caught in the crevices that end up dripping down the car creating water spots. Not here, they are very thorough when they wash and dry. I will definitely be back!

There are so many car washes in the Makiki/​Kakaako area. I have driven by Cosmo many times, noting the long lines of cars waiting their turn, wondering what is so great about this place that they are able to sustain the high number of customers, even on «off» days.
My other half takes her car there religiously, so I assumed they were expensive and did a quality job. So, naturally, I avoided the place. But one day, I really wanted to try a new place and found myself driving over.
I was quickly greeted by a man who worked there, who instructed me where to park and where to pay. What, did I hear correctly? They will wash my car and clean the interiors for the wallet-​friendly price of $ 23? Ok, let’s do it!
I went across the street for udon (rather than wait in their waiting room– obviously I didn’t know about the complimentary tea) and came back 40 minutes later to a shiny gleaming beauty. No water spots. Got inside and squealed: everything looks so clean.
These guys are efficient and they did a nice job for an affordable price. I also liked that I could exit using either South King or Keeaumoku, without having to fight traffic. Now I understand what all the hub-​bub is about.

Great car wash service while we chilled in the waiting room drinking green tea. We also had a safety check here and within one day they replaced broken light cover and did an excellent job for only $ 30.00 labor costs. Awesome!

This place is always busy, and the Unilocal reviews were good so I decided to give it a try. Went in for a standard oil change and wash. Was told to hand over the keys, and return in an hour. They didn’t ask for a name, phone number, or have me sign a waiver– nothing. I return, the mechanic waves to me, and tells me to pay inside. The cashier gave me minimal customer service, and by the end of the transaction I felt like I was just another cog in their business.
I finally returned to my car, and notice a big ding on the drivers side that wasn’t there before. Although one of the mechanics was nice enough to hear my complaint, and checked the video cameras to see when it could have been dinged, no one else there said anything to me. He finally returned and told me that it was impossible that it happened at the station. I got the feeling that if I had a newer car or spoke Japanese they would have taken me seriously. Instead they offered nothing– not even a thank you for your time.
I don’t usually give bad reviews, but after reading the other 1 star reviews on Unilocal I noticed most of them were about dings, scratches, or blemishes that appeared after getting their car serviced at Yajima Station! While this might seem statistically reasonable (accidents do happen), the fact that they didn’t even apologize was upsetting. Based on the poor customer service alone I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

First time here and won’t be my last! Paid $ 20 for full car wash and vacuum. Wait time was approximately 10 – 15 minutes, they have a great wait room with free amenities like water and coffee. They also have a massage chair (not free lol). Everyone was very friendly (except for the one guy that welcomed me while chewing his betel-​nut and needed to spit while talking to me — no biggie though… They did a great job!)
This place got busy quick too!!! Try it out!

I love to come here to wash my car. They use special wax on your car so the car is spotless and shines for a month! If you’re a busy person like me and dont have alot of time to wash/​clean your own car then I recommend you bringing your car here cause it will keep your car cleaned for a long time! They also vaccuum your car too. Worth the wait and the money

I’m horrible when it comes to car washing. I’m not gonna lie, I probably wash my car every 4 months or so. When it comes to people like me, Cosmo comes to the rescue!
I don’t mind paying a little extra to get the premium wash, a long with interior cleaning & vacuuming. A nice plus is if you purchase gas, you get a discount. I always opt for this even if I still have gas in my tank.
If you have time on your hands (I say this because I’ve had to wait 45 minutes before since it is very popular), I would recommend Cosmo. They work hard, have good ice tea available while you are waiting, and your car comes out looking nice & fresh!

They do safety checks!
I chose this place to do my safety check because it’s in close proximity to the Satellite City Hall in Ala Moana. Driving around and looking for a place to do it would be a pain and since this spot is just up Keeaumoku, it would make the process of registering our new car easier. Getting in the lot is a little tricky on Keeaumoku so my advice is coming in from King Street or Sheridan.
If you shipped your vehicle here, you will need to obtain a safety check in Hawaii. They basically inspect your lights (headlights, reverse lights and blinkers), tire wear, tint, suspension, any modifications and glass (windows and windshield) to ensure no cracks. They will charge you for the safety check, fail you and have you go to Satellite City Hall to register your vehicle. Once registered, you go back and they put the safety check sticker on your vehicle.
Price for safety check (as of Oct ’15) is $ 19.20 for no tint and $ 24.21 with tint. You need 35% tint or higher to pass. Anything lower is illegal in Hawaii. If you have out of state plates or paper plates, you will need to put on Hawaii plates before they give you the safety check. They will offer to do it for you for $ 10 but if you ask politely, they will lend you a screwdriver to do yourself. I would recommend that because it’s like paying them $ 2.50/screw. The $ 10 saved can go toward a car wash there.
This is a small lot but they do repairs, car washes, fill up gas and of course safety checks. Everyone here is friendly and professional. The safety check garage is actually across the street so don’t be alarmed when you don’t see your car on the monitor in the waiting area. It’s not a long process but if they are busy, it can take longer than normal. Not a problem because the waiting area is spacious with many seats, has magazines, a massage chair and a clean restroom if needed. Quality spot so check them out!

Brought my brand new BMW there because they’re supposed to have the most gentle automated wash. I was horrified to see a chip on my hood on the edge nearest my windshield. I also had the same paint chip in exactly the same spot on a previous BMW and realized that it was their machines that caused the damage. Since the chip was very minor, I had sent an email asking if they’d cover the cost of touch up paint. No response whatsoever.
For a place that is supposed to pride themselves on customer service, I’m really disappointed. Steer clear of this place unless you want potential damage to your paint. And an indifferent staff.

I only went here because McKinley was closed. Not satisfied with the car wash because it is more expensive, floor was not well vacuumed, the truck was not vacuumed or touched at all!

We love washing our car here. The service is fast and the employee are friendly. You can watch your car through the video cameras they have in the waiting room.
The cashier is always nice to use. Her name is Erika. The AC in the waiting room is always nice and cold. There is plenty of cold green tea to drink, or coffee. You can always buy other drinks that they sell here. They have a restroom also. Its always a good experience waiting for the car to be washed.
It takes some time for the car to be cleaned but worth the wait. It gets very busy but it is still very fast service. I have waited 20minutes at the longest. When it is very busy.
The owner helped me with attaching my front license plate one time. I was in an accident and the license plate was smashed and I needed to drill new holes into the plastic in order for it to be reattached. They took care of that for us. They didn’t need to do that and we didn’t need to ask. They asked us what happened and they just took care of it. For that we are loyal customers :)
We love this place and we have been here 20+ times. There is no place better :)

Quick, friendly, professional service.
Rolled into the full service lane because my tire pressure warning light was on. While one attendant filled my gas, another checked under my hood and refilled my washer fluid reservoir and checked my oil. Then they checked my tires and found a screw in my rear tire.
Attendant: your tire has a screw in it. I can patch it up in 10 minutes.
Me: 10 minutes? Are you sure?
Attendant: yes Miss, 10 minutes.
Low and behold, he was done in less than 10 minutes. Gave $ 20 to the cashier, waited for the attendant to wash my windows, and I was off.
This service station is always quite busy, but I’ve never had to wait long for service, whether it’s a car wash, safety check renewal, or in this case, a tire plug.
