Cut N Color

This review is actually for my daughter who got her haircut here with Jenny. My usual hairdresser is always booked in advance so my husband and I looked through Unilocal (of course) for a hair salon in town that could book a last minute appointment. Found Cut N Color and the funny story is that we saw a picture of our very good friend on Unilocal who got her hair cut here with Jenny (mine you she always has nice hair) so we said let’s give it a try. I called and she had an opening but she also explained that the address here in Unilocal is different than her actual location. She’s located right behind Walgreens near Ala Moana Center right on Makaloa St, second floor of Makaloa Plaza. Parking is in the back but it’s not free. Jenny does validate I’m not sure up to how long she can validate the ticket for but we ended paying $ 1 after being there for a little over an hour. First of all I walked in when she was giving her clients eyelash extensions and that was a little awkward but she had my daughter and I take a seat. She listened to everything daughter wanted. But basically she just wanted to cut her hair short since this has been a pretty HOT summer. Needless to say my daughter was very happy with her cut. It was simple cut so she charged us $ 35 but usually it’s $ 50. From what I saw her skill is on par with my usual hair dresser so if I can’t book again with her I know I can call Jenny too.

with long time of experience, Jenny is best hairstylist in hawaii. I highly recommand Jenny. She is very friendly and cares about her clients satisfaction.

I had red color on my hair for 10years and I was getting really tired of this. I wanted make it pastel colors but I knew It must be really tough. .so I asked couple of stylist around where I live and they all seems like don’t wanted tried it… they all said whyyy ur hair colors looks nice u should keep it!
I know it’s nice but I’m tired of this… they just all said
It cost too much and take forever to make it… blah blah
Sooo I was thinking maybe jenny could do it so makes phone call and explain her what I have and what I want and she seems excited to make it which is nobody wanted tried lol
It was not easy she explains me and I knew it and I was really appreciated to her. well it came out super nice.

I’m new to Hawaii, and so thankful that a friend recommended Jenny. She did a great job on both mine and my daughter’s hair. She took the time to understand what we wanted, but was willing to give her opinion about whether it would work or not. She took her time – her precise cutting is my favorite thing about the experience. She checked and rechecked to make sure the cut was falling correctly. I am thrilled to have found a skilled hairdresser here – one more thing to make this feel like home!

I’ve been going to Jenny since 2008. Before then I wandered the Earth looking for someone like her who could take my horse mane and turn it into beautiful looking human hair. She is a skilled hairdresser. She makes it so simple and effortless to have great hair. Her cuts a very becoming. I have had hair cuts from short bobs to long layered hair. It’s $ 50 for wash, cut and style. If that seems steep to you-it’s well worth the investment! Her cuts ALWAYS grow out so well that if money is an issue-​you can feel like you’re getting your bang for your buck!!! On a personal note, she is kind and very professional. It’s quite easy to feel like family very quickly! I’d recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and talented hairdresser.
Parking can be competitive. Get there early so you’re not late for your appointment.

Plenty of free parking upstairs and jenny is the lady who cuts hair. She is super accommodating with her time. Gives the best service and very skillful. The salon is chill and nice and she gives Hair wash after cutting too. Gives best hair style. Super detail oriented.

Jenny is amazing. The first person I found I Hawaii who can cut my hair properly. I have thick coarse hair and she thinned it out and layered it perfectly! Also I really wanted to color my hair but not bleach it. She advised me that it wouldn’t be possible because of previous color jobs. This wins huge points for me because she took my concern about the health of my hair as top priority instead of just telling me she could do it to make some money. I can’t wait to go back and get a Brazilian blowout. Please, don’t waste any more time getting bad haircuts and just book an appointment with jenny. She has the knowledge and experience to give you great hair! Not only that but she is super friendly and cares more about her clients than any hair dresser I have ever met.

Finally My hair salon adventure is over. My hair stylist was Jenny and she was awesome !! She knows exactly what I wanted. I would totally recommend anyone to see her ! :-)

i love that she did a great job cutting my hair exactly the same as i wanted. Should admit that i am kindo picky about my hair, especially about keeping my hair silky even after perm. I have been there three times n i am ready for a review coz i am very satisfied with all. Hair cut was very nice n she did it very thoughtfully. Whenever i came by, stylist Jenny is so sweet n took care of my hair professionally. I love it.

I have been following Jenny from The Fix in Kailua to H-​Salon in Town, to her new place for 7 years. She has saved me from Home-​made color disasters, fixed various horrible experimental haircuts (from other places when I couldn’t wait my turn with her) and I ALWAYS walk away from her feeling like a million.
She stays up to date on technique and seems to truly enjoy her profession — it shows!!! Her cuts grow out wonderful and if I don’t feel like styling my hair it still looks great. I have long hair and am particular about how I like it cut and layered, also my hair tends to go brassy in the sun so coloring/​highlighting is not an easy task. THANK’s Jenny, I’ll follow you anywhere.

I’ve been going to Jenny for a couple of years now. I don’t get a cut as often as I should, but whenever I do I always receive such nice compliments.
I went back last weekend after more than 8 months (I didn’t go anywhere else, I just didn’t cut my hair), and it was so refreshing to have Jenny lop off the boring length into a stylish cut. I’m really happy with this one. It’s the perfect length: short enough to be stylish, but long enough to tie back during workouts.

Jenny has been doing my hair for 7 years and unfortunately I live in California now. She is professional and very up to date on all the newest styles and techniques. I plan on waiting to get my hair cut until I can get back to Hawaii so she can do it.
