Great for a quick lunch. I had sliced beef phở and two spring roll with a drink($ 11). The food was very tasty, especially the spring rolls. The broth of phở was also quite good. Would recommend this place.

After the downtown location on the corner of Alakea closed, I was sad. This location is even better. Friendly older gentleman taking your order. My favorites include either the stuffed eggplant or bittermelon. If you can’t decide, get the combo. The jasmine rice & summer roll completes your dining experience.

[Location & Parking] Diem Café 99 is located inside Moanalua 99(aka 99 Ranch). If you enter through the main entrance, it’s on the left-hand side of the food court. There is ample free parking located around the perimeter [Interior] Overall 99 Ranch is one of the dimmest food courts I’ve been to. I guess there isn’t enough light fixtures. There are numerous tables scattered around the food court with at least 4 chairs per table. [Service] Service is pretty quick. Within 5 minutes of ordering, my food came out. [Food] Combination rolls($ 6) — It came with 3 spring rolls and 2 summer rolls [Overall] I thought it was a pretty good deal to get 5 rolls for ~$ 6. I haven’t tried their other items on the menu but if I’m ever in Mapunapuna area I’d like to come back and try their other items.

Wide selection of Vietnamese cuisine. I tried there lemongrass chicken combo which was very tasty and very reasonable in price. I would definitely come back to try something new

I love Vietnanese veggie sandwiches. However, this one was a little different. They substituted lettuce for about half of the pickled vegetables.

This is my go to spot at the Ranch. Garlic chicken with the crepes big time ono. Salad is always fresh and green. Only downer here is no free refills for beverages, but I can live with that.

Good phở for a good price. They come in disposable bowls so it’s easy to take left over to go

I always come here and I keep coming back First of all I always like to order from the male cashier he always has a smile on his face which is a great! Service is very fast I would say about 5−8min wait time for your food. Food is really good I usually come here for the phở or their sandwiches.

We’ve always liked this place for its Phở, the spicy kalbi is our fav, but had a sandwich today and think it is probably the best Vietnamese sandwich on Oahu.

Had the summer rolls and Papaya salad. Customer service was great but the food was just, eh, average. I didn’t really enjoy the peanut sauce that came with the summer rolls. It wasn’t very flavorful.

I’ve been here once before… and honestly could not remember how the food was. So, I decided to give it a try again. Got the chicken phở combo with summer roll. Now I know why I didn’t remember the food… it is forgettable. And the add-ins that make phở wonderfully deliciously personalized to your taste was lacking. There were little to no thinly sliced onions, I had a total of 3 basil leaves, and a handful of bean sprouts(which I don’t mind because I don’t like bean sprouts in my phở). The soup base should be lip-smacking, but this wasn’t that flavorful either. I also found a piece of melted plastic wrap in my soup… is that what they use to warm their chicken in… What I did like was the sliced jalapeños that were available on the counter, along with the usual phở suspects(hoisin, Sriracha, etc.). I will stick to Ba-le for my phở and banh-mi cravings.

A pretty no frills take out Vietnamese joint with the standard phở and vermicelli noodle, rice and salad offerings. I enjoy their smaller offerings like their Vietnamese style bentos, basically a few plates on their regular menu just scaled down just a tad bit. A family owned place, you could tell by their focus on each customer by being very polite and quick to recommend several of their proven dishes. Definitely a proven place to come back to when you’re in the area.

Breakfast is my least favorite meal of the day. I know, I know, it’s touted as the most important meal of the day but quite frankly, it’s gotten boring. The eggs, the oatmeal, the toast, the sugar laden pancakes all equal MONOTONY. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz… oh I’m sorry I dozed off for a bit because even breakfast talk is boring me out of my mind! While my husband and I waited for our little one to finish her gymnastics lesson we decided to grab breakfast and I almost decided to just starve rather than eat another boring scrambled egg or pancake. Thankfully I had the brilliant idea to skip to blunch(that’s a breakfast lunch combo) by visiting Diem 99 Café! Phở and bahn mi instead of a scrambled eggs? Yes please! The man who works the counter at Diem 99 is super cool and it’s so delightful to start your morning interacting with someone who shares your same cheerful disposition. We bought combos which came with a drink and spring rolls. Our food came out quickly and although I didn’t have high expectations, it was pretty good for 8:30am in the morning! Not the best phở we’ve ever had, but certainly not the worst and the bahn mi bread was nice and crunchy. The only thing I’d change about my sandwich for next time is to ask for no mayo. Either you’re a mayo fan or not, and I am the latter. Now when we are running late I won’t have to eat goldfish from my daughter’s lunchbox! No offense eggs, you’re a great protein, but I need a temporary break from your presence in my everyday life. Happy blunching friends!

Had the short rib phở and side of spring rolls! I must say yum!!! I love phở and this place has a good bowl of phở. Served in a styrofoam bowl with just right amount of food. Left very fulfilled and satisfied. The staff are very friendly and I would definitely recommend and surely come back.

I’m a fan of their food. Been here lots and love the bbq and lemon grass chicken. Shaken beef over vermicelli is delicious… Wanna adopt cool olé fella, probably the owner, as my grampa… :)

The man at the counter is very friendly and chatty. Very kind though. He offered me peanuts a few times. Unfortunately, the food is mediocre at best. I tried the Vietnamese sandwich here. It was terrible. The French bread was not what I expected. It seemed like it was not toasted. It had no crunch to it. The veggies seemed old. And the chicken was flavorless. Honestly, Bale is a better choice. I tried 2 plate lunches here. The lemongrass chicken combo and another combo(special) with fried eggplant. On both occasions I felt it wasn’t enough food. I was hungry soon after. Taste-wise, the other than the eggplant it was quite bland. The lemongrass chicken had a lemongrass flavor but I could also taste a unflavored chicken underneath the sauce(if that makes sense). Furthermore, the peanut sauce for the spring roll was a weird texture. Kind of barf looking. I’m officially done eating here.

I ate the teriaki beef bowl because I heard it was what they’re known for. To be honest, it was just OK. The meat was sort of dry and I had three pieces of grissle, which is a lot for a bowl size meal. The service was great, and the people were super friendly. I’ve eated here several times with much better foods such as the seafood over crunchy noodles or lemon grass dishes… yummy! I’ll be back and hope to give a higher rating on my next visit.

My family always gets take-out from here because it is semi-close to home and their food is pretty good! Located in 99 Moanalua(or idk previously known as 99 Ranch), with lots of parking space. We usually order the phở combos? I like the lemongrass chicken plate as well as their summer rolls! The old man there was very nice and always gave me and my brother some tapioca pudding or something. He would recognize us all the time as well and ask how we are doing. Customers like to be recognized and encourages them to come back because of that connection you make. There was two occasions where the old man forgot to give us our summer rolls(*sad*), that is why we always double check we have everything before taking off. It is also recommended to do phone order because it might be faster to just come and pick up your meal. Sometimes they can be busy!
