Four stars for Linda and her turkey and pâté banh mi with jalapenos! I’m not sure if they make their pâté in-house, but it’s so delish! Their pickled carrots and daikon have good flavor and great crunch. I love how they evenly distribute the jalapeño peppers throughout the entire sandwich, so there’s a kick in every bite. And they’re so generous with the cilantro, which is another huge plus! Perfect meat-to-veggie and bread ratio. The only thing that would make this already yummy sandwich even better is if they toasted the bread, but hey, no complaints here… I’d eat it either way hah! Oh, I almost forgot to mention how cheap it is! You can get one of these tasty bad boys for just $ 6! Win! :9

Dis N Dat Goo’dez is a snack shop selling Banh Mis, Smoothies, Crack Seed, and Fruit. They make the best sandwiches in the area and the owners are super nice. I love their Lemongrass Chicken Banh Mi, I get it everytime. The bread is warm, toasty, and the right ratio for the filling. The chicken is juicy, the pickled carrots and daikon have great tang and crunch, and the fresh jalapeño and cilantro add heat and freshness. It’s a well balanced, tasty sandwich. Definitely stop by if you are looking for a light lunch or snack. It’s super affordable and made to order.

I come here for their cheap Banh Mis!!! $ 5 for one type of meat or $ 6 for two types of meat! It is cheap, close to where I work and food is delicious! I usually order the pâté and tofu combo banh mi and some spring rolls. :)

What a special hole in the wall find. Great Banh Mi’s for $ 5.50(my fave is the lemon grass) Everything else is priced right and they have a big following for lunch from Kaiser Hospital which is close by. Service with a smile. Overall a tasty experience, can’t wait to return. Don’t forget the bubble drinks etc.

the char siu/tofu banh was the best sandwich I have eaten in 15 years on the islands. homemade char siu, thick crunchy daicon, carrots and cucumber with homemade mayonnaise spread on fresh French bread. And it’s very reasonably priced.

Love love love! The food is great! The smoothies are even better! Shave ice is so Ono but what sells the place and brings me back over and over is the costumer service! I went 2 days in a row last week and tried to make it 3 but was so sad because they aren’t open on the weekends.

Wow– those banh mi sandwiches are to die for. I had the barbecue pork one and the bread was heavenly, and I wolfed it down. Also a nice collection of crack seed– I found my favorite seedless Li hing mui that was soft but not wet and with just a hint of sweetness. Owner Linda was super friendly and nice. I can’t wait to go back and try the smoothies and shave ice

This place has awesome banh mi! I’ve eaten at Banh Mi Huynh Hoa, which was one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had in my life and the pricy but good banh mi at Pig and the Lady, but Dis N Dat Goo’dez can still run with them! Banh mi are sandwiches that were born as a result of the French colonialism of Vietnam in the earlier part of the 20th century. These Vietnamese sandwiches consist of a French bread roll, filled with meat, and pickled daikon and carrots. There is no greater sandwich in my eyes! Linda, the owner, provides wonderful and welcoming service. She’s super friendly, and over time, she’s definitely gotten to know my friend and me, when we used to come in for lunch regularly. She makes her own aioli for the sandwiches, roasts her own cha siu, and cooks her own bbq pork, and lemongrass chicken for the sandwiches. The sandwiches are warm, savory, crisp, and can even come with a slice of jalapeño if you like things more spicy. The pickled daikon and carrots provide a nice snap and a contrast to the meaty sandwiches. Also, if you’re a pâté lover, add in pâté to any of the sandwiches to make it even better! The store also has lots of crack seed and good shave ices for summer days!

Got a craving? Whether it’s for a bit of Popcorn(aww who can resist that wonderful smell) a bubble drink, a Banh Mi Sandwich, Fried Rice, Spring Rolls, Cracked Seed, Smoothies, Bubble Drinks or just the standard snacks. Yes, this is the place to go! Ok granted parking may be a bit difficult for some as the parking is only street or a sneaked parking from Walgreens parking lot, as for me it’s just a short walk from my office so easy! If you’re like me and have a craving for something but not quite sure what… Sigh you know that feeling, come on admit it! You walk in to Dis N Dat Goo’dez and Garens ball Barens you going find something to satisfy you! Yup I always do! :-) It’s a cozy little place with two tables, lots of lunch and after school traffic in there but better than a mini mart anyday!

Really happy with this place. Tried the lemongrass chicken banh mi and shrimp spring rolls. First, the portion size of the banh mi was really generous! They pack the sandwich full of tasty pickled daikon and carrots and don’t skimp on the meat neither. It was enough where I was able to eat half of it for lunch, be satisfied, and save the other half for dinner. My favorite kind of value! It’s amazing how simple the sandwich looks, but packs in tons of flavor. The shrimp spring rolls were incredibly fresh and had a perfect crunch with each bite. I made sure to dunk each bite into the accompanying peanut dipping sauce. And because no meal is complete with dessert(yes, this counts for breakfast and lunch too), I decided on getting their rice pudding, which tasted like the kind my mom used to make! They also had banana and taro flavored. Charming, simple mom and pop style of shop, but really impressed with the food. Parking was easy out front, despite the prime lunch time. Look forward to trying their sweets next time!

Nestled near McKinley High School and across the street from First Hawaiian Bank, Dis N Dat has always been my banh mi heaven near home. My favorite meats to add on are char siu and pâté(which is a meat spread). Best combo ever. Their carrots and daikon are well fermented and super crunchy. To top it off, I like adding in a couple of jalapeño peppers for an extra kick. The ever-so-popular lemongrass chicken is good too. While you’re here, you gotta try their smoothies. Kinda like Lucky Charms’ slogan — they’re magically delicious! They densely compact the fruit so it’s jam-packed with real freshness… none of that watery powdered stuff. I love love love the lilikoi smoothie. The mango, honeydew and berry smoothies are great too. Very hard to go wrong. Then finally, I HAVE to comment about service. Linda, the owner, is an absolute sweetheart. She’s the type of person who tries to remember everyone’s name. By the second time I came into the shop, we were on a first name basis. Tip: It’s a small shop so this place can get packed during lunch time when all the nearby business people are scouting for food. Plan ahead and dodge the crowds! Your stomach will thank you for it.

I’m on a mission to finally visit and knock off all these places off my bookmark list, so on my first vacation day this summer I headed over to Dis n Dat for a bahn mi and smoothie. I arrived around 1230pm on a Monday and there was already 5 people standing around their tiny shop either waiting to place an order or waiting for their order to get made. When it was finally my turn I placed an order for a combo sandwich of pâté and lemon grass chicken and asked the lady behind the counter what she recommended between an avocado smoothie or taro. She said I’d like both so I settled on avo, and then the waiting game began. I waited about twenty minutes while the two ladies made smoothies, sandwiches and rang customers up. It seemed pretty disorganized as customers kept entering and waiting, the ladies didn’t really greet anyone our seem to know how long people had been waiting or who they were supposed to serve next. Seemed to me they needed a better system. When I finally got my order I was very disappointed about my almost $ 5 avocado smoothie. It was bitter and didn’t have much flavor. Although the texture was great, thick and creamy, I was expecting much more for my money. I ate my sandwich at home and loved the pickled veggies and chicken. Next time I think I’ll save the 50 cents and leave out the pâté, it seemed overly peppery. Not sure how long it will take me to come back but I’m not sure if I’ll be adventurous to risk another smoothie :/

Linda, the owner, is such a warm and friendly person. She is dedicated to her work and she gets to know her customers on a personal level. She’s always talking! I always have such a pleasant time when I stop by. I give Dis N Dat Goo’dez 5 stars because I think their banh mi might be the best banh mi on the island. I’m originally from Southern California where banh mi from Westminster are basically straight out of Vietnam so I’d like to think that my review has some street cred. Linda uses the freshest, softest bread. yet it still has that crispy outer shell. Love that. I always order a combo banh mi so I can have a meat + pâté. She is GENEROUS with the pâté AND the meat. I love how she uses chunky shreds of cucumber and daikon. There’s always ample cilantro and peppers, too. The banh mi is always bursting at the seams. Delicious flavor. Juicy, fresh, savory and flavorful. I love Linda and I love her sandwiches! Consider me a repeat customer!
