One of the most innovative furniture shops around. Pop-ups, community events, and the early home of the BoxJelly. Definitely helped with the resurgence of Kaka’ako. Love browsing the shop and being inspired. So many cool, eclectic, and amazing things to see. Picked up this nightstand which was made from reclaimed railroad ties when I first moved into Kaka’ako. This is the place for unique, one-of-a-kind furnishings. Really nice people here.

Warning: This place does not sell fishcake! However they do sell some awesomely unique furniture and household accessories! I actually came here to get something to eat. The café serves freshly grounded coffee, scones, cookies, and sandwiches. I had a cold pressed sandwich that came with prociutto, tomatos, provolone, pesto, and portabela mushrooms. The taste was excellent! I also had a peanut butter banana cookie wich was given to me on the house! These guys really appreciate their customers. I would highly recommend coming here for a nice quiet lunch/coffee break! You might go home with a few new pieces of furniture too! :D

This is a whole store of awesome randomness. Need a funky couch? Need a weird art dress? Want a deconstructed umbrella? While I’m here my eyes can’t stop moving. This place is so cute. You can even get coffee and a snack.

I came here to shoot a fashion show, so I’m assuming the place isn’t normally packed with people with a runway running through the center of the establishment. The place features a small café when you enter, with the rest of the shop being filled with fashionable items for the ladies. I don’t know if guys have anything available, unless you like to wear skirts, which is cool if you do, but that’s not my thing personally. It seemed very modern in tone and atmosphere, with lots of light colors, pastels, and wooden permeating the scene. The garments and pieces matched, which is what one would expect from such a fashion oriented establishment. More art than fashion, but isn’t fashion just another form or art? Speaking of art, there are interesting textile creations on display throughout, such as dresses and dolls, although I’m not sure if it was for the fashion show. Don’t really know how much the clothes cost, but I’m assuming it’s a pretty penny. Come here if you want to mix a little art with your feminine fashion.

BRINGONTHECUTENESS: You’re probably wondering where Fishcake is because unless someone takes you there it’s pretty much off the shopping radar. Located in Kaka’ako down the street from the BJ Penn UFC Gym, Fishcake is an adorable hidden gem full of special treasures. They’ve got several themed areas to peruse through with pop-up shops from several local vendors. Everything from shabby chic to hipster furniture, delicate chandeliers to artsy housewares. Now that the holiday season is just around the corner, this is the perfect spot to buy a hostess gift or presents for those«hard to buy for/they have everything» type of friend. IF I DIDN’T HAVESMALLCHILDREN: I’d totally buy everything in this store! But as my little one is like living with a small wild horse, I’ll be gifting my future purchases to my single friends. BONUS: Morning Glass Coffee is located at the front of the store so you can enjoy coffee and snacks during your visit. PARKING: Non-existent but there’s parking on the street. Kind of tricky but I think it’s worth the short walk.

This fabulous space opposite Ward Center is a place to enjoy beautiful and interesting things and if you’re lucky to be able to afford, buy. A combination of new homewares, art and pop up shops(Hound & Quail during our visit) there is is lenty to interest lovers of are, design and vintage. Super friendly staff clearly spend a lot of time presenting their wares to advantage and will happily provide background and information. Would love to be able to afford to shop here but looking is free.

Fantastic selection of home furnishings and random gifts. I have found some great vintage items and small gifts for reasonable prices. Can be pricey, but the items are so cool it makes sense. Staff is very friendly!

Came here looking for furniture. There were some pieces but very limited. The store is very eclectic, with an artsy/gallery feel. They sell things ranging from furniture, to novelty items, to art. Very neat store with an unique collection of items that you can’t find elsewhere in Hawaii. Refreshing place… unfortunately, not in an area with a lot of foot-traffic.

Located on the mountain side of Bali-Aga furniture store. This store has a gallery feel more than a furniture store. I liked a lot of artsy looking furnitures. The display is unique and cool. I am a fan of the store as a gallery space, but not as a furniture store. Unilocal365 — 34⁄365
