I just recently began video gaming again (when time allows) thanks to my great friend for gifting me his Playstation 3. It’s been 10+ years that I quit video games, so I have absolutely no idea what’s «cool» or what’s popular in the gaming world nowadays. Is «B» still Jump, and holding «A» is run? Thankfully, the individuals who work here are really passionate about video games and other cool and awesome stuff. All of them are very friendly, very welcoming, very attentive, very informative, and very accommodating. They really go above and beyond to help you, and they try their best to make sure you are satisfied and make sure you get what you came there for. Its customer service is infinitely better than the stores at the big shopping malls and shopping centers. Also, this is the only store where each staff member points out the survey portion on your receipt and kindly asks you to perform the survey to help them improve their service or to solidify that their service is already great.
This store has a decent selection of games and everything is well organized both out front and in the back. I’ve had numerous instances at other Gamestops where the salesperson searched high and low in several drawers to find the game. Here, that never happens. Each salesperson knows which drawer, and which section each game is located.
I don’t typically do reviews for stores and other non-​restaurant businesses, but when the customer service is great and really stands out, then I feel like I must shared the word.

GameStop, sold my Pre-​order game of DragonballZ xenoverse. They sold it while having the non pre-​order game of DBZ xenoverse available and in stock. They did not call me to tell me they got the game in. I pre-​ordered this game last year sometime, and I didn’t remember when it was supposed to arrive. I depend on their phone call to tell me. They called me two days ago asking if I was going to come pick it up because it’s been awhile, and I said yes, I am not able to come in right away, and they said it’s ok and they will hold it. This was 2 days ago. This is ridiculous after seeing they had the regular release of this game very available for those that didn’t pre-​order to purchase. After being a regular customer for years, and pre-​ordering quite a few other games, they are very persistent to get you to pre-​order every game, but when they make a mistake and sell your pre-​order to someone else, they are quick to tell you that you only have 48hrs to pick it up (first time hearing this from them) and it’s your fault.
Usually this gamestop is friendly, and I have been going here since they opened. When you just go in and buy games, it’s easy and you have no problems. But when you pre-​order games, and they sell your pre-​ordered game to someone else, twice.

It’s a Gamestop. That being said, this one has slightly better stuff then my local shop.

I called this morning to reserve an Xbox One but was told that they couldn’t take in-​store pre-​orders for the Xbox One over the phone. The manager of the store (Matt) was very accommodating and said he’d hold one for me and that his Assistant Manager Travis would have my name and set me up with the pre-​order when I was able to drop by the store after work. Travis was busy since he was the only one working, but he took the time to chat with me about how the pre-​orders work and he gave me some information about trade-​ins. I was very pleased with the sales staff, including the person working last night (don’t know his name…) who was very friendly and knowledgeable — he’s the one who suggested I call when the store opened at 10am today. I’d definitely recommend this GameStop to anyone. Thanks!

Very good location. The staff is always nice and attentive and very helpful. A couple of the employees always recognize me when I come in and we have great conversations.

My son is a gamer so I have made many a purchases at Kahala, Ala Moana and this one in Hawaii Kai … this one has the BEST staff !!! the guys who work here are so helpful and really go out of their way from helping me take purchases to the car, giving upcoming info, help on deals, etc. !!! anyway I like to support my neighborhood and they make it easy !!!

One weekend Mrs. O played my nephew’s Xbox & decided she needed to have one. Having purchased a brand new Wii and playing it no more than 5 times since it came home w/​me this summer, I decided to trade it in.
The guys there were really nice and helped Mrs. O select some fun but moderately simple games for the leisurely player. One of the recommendations was Kung Fu Panda which caused me to howl with laughter. The other selection was Lego Land Adventures.
Got a used Xbox without a hard drive priced @ $ 129. I didn’t know I’d need one for the games Mrs. O wanted to play until after we got home. While slightly irritated that they didn’t tell me that @ the store, my manfriend went down there to yell @ them for not explaining it fully. Then he bought Mrs. O a hard drive for $ 50.
GS loses a star for trade in value (only got $ 60 for my beautiful new Wii) and another star for my perception of high priced used consoles.
