if you wanna get sick in the coolest location, THISISIT. Order the GARLIC shrimp, you will taste it for DAYS and days… Frozen shrimp and nasty frozen pieces of MAHI(Worst I have ever had! YUK!) The location is one of the locations they shoot HAWAII5 – 0. It is GORGEOUS! BYOF (bring your OWN food and sit out and eat) On TV they have tables… in real life… NOTABLES! Sit under the tree or on the beach over looking DIAMONDHEAD

Horrible! End of the night so they were probably just getting rid of the final prepared food. Shrimp cold, fries cold and greasy, taco wraps stiff. No restaurant should be able to deliver such poor quality fare… regardless of when it was served.

Got dinner from here to enjoy Friday night fireworks. Ordered two plates Fisherman’s platter and the Surf & Turf plus 412oz can soda. My bill was $ 34. Ah Waikiki whatever. Went I opened my fisherman’s platter there were only 7 price shrimp and one piece Mahi the size of a single burger kings chicken fry! Kid you not one freaken hotdog more big! To make matters worse the shrimp was over cooked tasted like rubber! The Mahi was over cooked too but not as bad as the shrimp. The steak bites in the surf & turf were chewy and had no flavor. They get one star cuz the fries was okay. Would not recommend any local people to eat here. Waste money!

Most of the stuff is frozen, pre-packaged, and simply just bland. Taco plate is a joke, garlic fries greasy and overwhelming, fish not even seasoned. The coleslaw is actually alright. The shaved Ice, well, you can’t really mess they one up, right. If you must eat, go there. But if you want to enjoy what you eat, anywhere else will do.

This was an ok food shrimp truck. My honey and I wanted something quick to munch on seafood wise. We had ventured here since we had finished parasailing. We looked at the menu and he decided upon coconut shrimp over fries. They also offer a dollar off to Kama aina: score!!! We waited for about ten minutes. There was a good amount of cops that were waiting on their orders:) When they called our number we excitedly went to pick it up. The coconut shrimp was fried evenly and nicely. There were no burnt flakes with a bad aftertaste. Thank god for that. I believe there was about 5 – 6 pieces. The dipping sauce was sweet and sour. The salad was either from Costco or safe way, and the dressing was thrown on top. The fries were pretty good. We were relatively surprised. They were thin, crispy with the right amount of grease. Almost as if it gave McDonald’s a run for its money lol. Overall it was good.

Grilled shrimp plate was delicious. Shoe string fries and coleslaw(cut up cabbage with a thick sweet creamy mayo drizzled over top) but still tasty. Perfect sweet/salty combo with fries. $ 11.50, not bad price. Shave ice– small and too much crunchy ice. Least favorite so far out of 5 different shave ice spots. Best part was location. Spent the day on the beach surfing in front of Hilton and this was closest, easiest spot for quick, good food.

Worst truck ever. The lil girls running the truck were too busy taking selfies etc. l, on the back while people were waiting in line. When we got our food it was sooo cold. The food wasn’t even good, definitely won’t ever be going back!!!

Gilligans Beach Shack is super good! The location where this food truck is based on is actually used to film Kamekona’s shrimp truck scenes from Hawaii 5 – 0. I got to try out the coconut shrimp and the steak bites. The coconut shrimp was crispy and sweet, and the steak bites were really tender. If you ever get the chance, order a pineapple drink from the booth in front of the truck. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the person’s name who runs that booth, but he make very elaborate and beautiful decorations out of his pineapple drinks! So good! I would definitely come here again next time I come back to Hawaii. :)

I never knew they could mess up shaved ice here. That was no shaved ice, that was a snow cone, chunky ice. I also ordered fries and they added this nasty garlic. i have had garlic fries before but the way they put it on made my stomach turn: this is a good example of someone trying to rip off a tourist. Place should be shut down.

Family and I decided to have lunch at this shrimp truck, since we are huge garlic shrimp fans. We see a big sign advertising shrimp and we automatically assume(which we shouldn’t have done) the shrimp would be at least good. To our mistake you get 6 small(35 count bag size) shrimp and a bucket of okay fries and the slaw seemed store bought. The garlic seemed store bought as well. DONTADVERTISEGARLICSHRIMPASYOURMAINDISHWHENANINFANTCANTGETSATISFIEDBYTHEAMOUNTSERVED. 10.95 for a basket of fries. What a joke. 2 stars for respectful service. 0 — for quality. Wife had Mahi Mahi tacos which were dry and El Paso salsa and cabbage. Pure garbage.

I always come here when I visit the beach. My favorite is the garlic shrimp, but mostly the coconut shrimp! Both comes with shoe string fries that I get with garlic, cole slaw and the guava jelly with the coconut shrimp is so good! Don’t forget the shave ice with ice cream at the bottom!

Zero stars if I could! So disgusted and disappointed in this place. Bouta embarrass this truck cuz what I got was GROSS, OVERPRICED, and SKIMPYYYY! Got the coconut shrimp. It was okay, ones I got at red lobster were 100x better. The guava sauce it came with was NOT a sauce. It looked like jelly that came from a can. And when I dipped my shrimp in it the«sauce» wouldn’t even stick to the shrimp! Useless and gross. Also got the surf and turf. WORSTDISH. Came with teriyaki steak bites and garlic shrimp. I SWEARBARELYANYMEAT. The steak bites looked like little bits of cat food! And the portion was hella small for 11BUCKS. The steak was small ass pieces and hella hard and chewy. The garlic shrimp wasn’t good. All for 15 dollars. Both orders came with fries. They were ok but skimped too. Seems like a lot at first but they spread em out so it looks like a lot. Came with coleslaw that was just cabbage with mayo. Gross. I hate this foodtruck don’t come here! 27 dollars for two meals and one drink. Trust me there’s better places to eat!!!

If you have time to waste on your vacation go make a simple order here! I was walking by this place and thought I’d get some garlic shrimp, the girl said they will take 10 mins. 20mins later I asked how long, she said another 5 mins«shrimp take along time to cook you know» There was no one else there before me either 10mins later I went asked for money bac the girl just said«sure» with a smile on her face as she continued to talk to the guy with her and give me it. There’s 30mins of my Hawaiian holiday I won’t get back all for the sake of waiting for some shrimp I never even got!

2 words: just terrible. Ordered the Teriyaki sirloin tip taco plate, a coke and a shave ice and without a doubt, was the worst food truck plate I’ve eaten on the island in 10 years. The service was slow –possibly because the shave ice alone required getting out of the truck, hauling a bag of ice out I a cooler and smashing it on the dirty parking lot pavement to break it up(because that never gets dirt in the bag or anything). I also noticed that everything was also given out piecemeal, i.e. You’d get a drink, 5 minutes later someone would get a piece of their meal, another person would get one of their shrimp orders, then it might be your turn to get another piece of your order. Confusing and slow. Personality wise the staff was okay, but things were really disorganized. The food was disgusting. The soft shell taco was basically shredded cabbage filler w/o flavor, but the meat was quite burnt, and the tiny portion of teriyaki was bland. It was like eating a chewy charcoal briquette. Gross! The place might be getting some recognition via people thinking it’s the shrimp truck on Hawaii Five-0, but if I was their publicist, I’d tell them to avoid this place like the plague.

Saw them last year while staying at Hilton Hawaiian village but didn’t stop by. This year I stopped by twice. First time ordered the fisherman’s platter with garlic shrimp, fresh grilled shrimp and coconut fried shrimp along with another side of plain fries(for my son). Food was hot, fresh, quick and good. Went back a few days later and got regular garlic shrimp and spicy. Spicy was better with some Kick(not super spicy) but good enhancement. Location is prime for this truck and the price is reasonable.

Super slow service and small portions. Better off going elsewhere if all you want is fried food. It’s unfortunate this is the only food truck that stationed by the Hilton Hawaiian village beach Bc there are so many«authentic» food trucks in Honolulu that have better quality food. We ordered the fisherman platter which consisted of 3 pieces of overcooked/dried coconut shrimp, a few pieces of soggy garlic shrimp which was also lacking in flavor(need a tip from Giovanni’s) and 1 small piece of mahi, not even 2 – 3 but 1 small piece. The fries and slaw were good but that’s about it. Not to mention the girl who took my order«lost» the order ticket so we had to wait an extra 20 minutes. Really, losing a ticket inside a food truck. come on! The shave ice is a complete joke! They should not even call that shave ice. It’s insulting.

A nice food truck at a good location. I would definitely recommend this place for the Shrimp Truck experience, if you can’t make it to the North Shore. The price is good and the food was pretty quick. About five minutes from time of order to food received.

I went here several times for lunch when I was staying at the hilton in Honolulu! Very good! We had almost everything on the menu. garlic shrimp, coconut shrimp, tacos, fishermans platter. Their French fries were delicious along with their cole slaw and I don’t even like cole slaw! Prices are reasonable also! Check out my blog for more places to eat in Honolulu
