I had been wanting to stop in and try the Green Tree Café for awhile. However the NOAA building looked so intimidating to me so I hadn’t tried yet. Finally with the husband in tow I tried it. I made him go in to get to go food. Well after eating cheap and great food I decided to finally go in with him and the kiddo. Again great food. Even better is that at 2pm they sell what food they have already made half price. I had poke, he had a chicken and my daughter had a little turkey sandwich with a thai coffee for $ 10. I’ve never ate that cheap before. I have to say though that katsu with wasabi though is the thing to try so good. That was by far my favorite thing to try. You have to have access to Ford Island(military ID) to access this restaurant. Plenty of Free parking. All you have to do is give your ID to the security guard and they give you a pass. Best Food on Ford Island… well it’s also the only food there. =)

Get there if you can. I came while at Ford Island. Totally worth the drive. Unbelievably good food, friendly staff, and great digs. The tuna was superb and even during lunch rush the food was fast! The coffee was fresh and local — AWESOME!

Went there 14 Nov 2015 with my Soldiers and it was good. I love the fresh food they have and it was great to introduce my guys/females to a great spot. Try the turkey burger, you won’t be disappointed.

Green Tree Café catered my military promotion ceremony on the USS Missouri yesterday(29 Oct 15). My guests were amazed at the spread – Kalua Pork quesadillas, coconut shrimp, spring rolls, fresh fruit and veggies, and sushi. Each dish came with special sauces. Everything was delicious, and no one went home hungry. The staff was very courteous and friendly. Green Tree Café made a great day perfect.

I really loved this place. The ladies Who helped me were kind and showed me the ropes, they have a salad bar, sushi station, and hot food area. I went here the first time for breakfast before a training I had on ford island. They have a buffet style breakfast set up where they weigh your food for the price. It was great I got some of everything and it was under $ 4. When I went to check out I asked if I could call in an order for lunch since I knew I was going to be running tight for time. The manager gave me a their card with the phone number and told me I could call before I head over or if I knew what time I had lunch I could place an order, pay right now and just pick up later. I did the call ahead one since I didn’t know the exact time of my break, I called an order for the volcano poke bowl. It was ready when I walked in, I paid and even got a free drink since I checked in on Unilocal.I was back at my training room in less than 15mins from the time I left. The only this is its in the NOAA building so I was a little scared I wasn’t allowed in there. The building itself looks very intimidating, I walked in and told the security guard I heard there was a delicious place to eat here and he told it was the best place on island.(Hehe it’s on ford island) he took my DOD id and gave me a guest pass and that was all. Nice and easy. Oh and the views are amazing but I hate to grab and go so I didn’t stay long. I will be back every chance I get to go to ford island for breakfast or lunch you can beat on that.

AWESOME fresh food !!! different poke bowls are great choice. Great view, great price, easy access — just exchange an ID for a pass to café. The food was very very good. I had dragon bowl. Only negative — at lunch time it is a bit crowded — so allow an extra few mins. Stop by the undersea lab — videos are incredible.

Good quality food, but the breakfast bar is usually late to be set up. Lunch time is usually crowded after 11:30, but you can still get your food in a reasonable time. I have no complaints except the morning staff is usually behind schedule.

Love the pricing and quality of food here. It’s a hidden gem for a near-base breakfast or lunch option. The furikake ahi and ahi poke bowl are my two favorites. The crust on the furikake ahi is amazing, and they use sushi rice with the ahi poke bowl, which adds a nice tangy flavor. There’s even a coffee bar, not to mention a very nice view of the water.

It’s an ok experience. Goods: high quality food, awesome location and view. Lots of rotating specials. Bads: usually a long wait during the lunch rush. Long wait to order & pay followed by a long wait for your food to be prepared. Others: a little pricey but I guess you’re paying for the quality.

This is one of the Hidden treasures of Pearl Harbor /Hickam. The food is outstanding, the atmosphere is superb and offers the opportunity to have meetings in a casual yet refund setting. Try the Furakaki Crusted Ahi, the Poke Bowls or Lemon Chicken.

Best place on or near base for lunch. I work on Pearl Harbor and am always struggling to find a good healthy filling lunch. Well, I found it. Green tree café is in the NOAA building on ford island. You need an ID to get in, but that’s it. There is a menu on the wall that includes sandwiches, burgers, lunch plates, salad bar, smoothie bar, coffee bar, desserts, and most importantly to me, a sushi and poke bar. Sushi is freshly made and delicious. Very affordable. I have gotten almost every roll, but usually stick to the salmon and avocado. The poke bowls are great too. As good as anywhere else. Another highlight of this place is the eating space. It’s in a wide open high sealing area overlooking the water. A very relaxing and beautiful place to nom on sushi. Highly recommend.

The lines here during lunch were not a good thing. The system(pay first for ordered items, pay after for the salad bar since it’s by weight) was not explained, and the menus were on the opposite side of the room as where the line was forming. Not very well planned room. The salad was pretty good. The range of choices for ordered items seemed decent– burgers, poke bowls, etc. The guy at the coffee bar was super nice in the morning. #100in2015(#8)

After this whole time Ive been here today was the first time Ive even heard about this place. You need to be DOD affliliated to come here. If you are I suggest this place just because of the view and location. They have ample seating inside with a really nice view. Outside seating is also available in which I suggest when it’s not raining. The food is okay. Prepared upon ordering. There’s a grab n go option for those on the go. The present menu is not updated according to one of the food preps. I chked in and got a free drink which was pretty cool. THX Unilocal! I really enjoyed the enviroment the most. That was pretty much it. I have yet to try other things on the menu but for my 1st time the food was okay.

I stopped by for a Spicy Ahi Poke Bowl after 12:30 thinking I would avoid the lunch crowd. Boy was I wrong. I guess everyone was in the mood for sushi. The other counters were not crowded at all. The fish quality is always good. Unfortunately, I don’t think I got seasoned rice(sushi vinegar). It was a little disappointing. I’ll still go back, but perhaps when not as crowded.

Working near a base, your options for lunch are few and far between. However, we find those little hidden gems that we want to hold close to us for fear it will become way too crowded. Hidden in the new NOAA building, Green Tree Café is located on Ford Island. You must surrender an ID in order to gain guest access to the building for lunch. They have a hot plate station, a sushi bar, a sandwich station, a salad bar, and a bakery. We beelined to the sushi bar for a poke bowl. This was such fantastic quality, something I would expect from a really nice corporation or a restaurant located in a nice department store. The ambience is casual but modern and calm. With grand two story floor to ceiling windows with views of the harbor, the seating area doesn’t seem ever too crowded. When you are finished with your meal, bus your plates around the corner at a conveyer belt. I really wish they were open on the weekends, but they aren’t a normal restaurant, but one that supports the offices of NOAA.

We went around 1:00 and the place was bare, so no lines and pure awesomeness. The meal I had was Furikake Ahi with veggies and Brown Rice. It was cooked just right and was delicious. I will definitely be coming back here!

Was craving an açai bowl after a workout today and discovered this place after searching nearby açai. I didn’t even see it on the menu, but asked for it since i had seen it on the website. It was definitely not my favorite bowl on the island, but the staff was super friendly and put a lot of effort into my food and drink. Texture was a little soupy but he had to fight a bit with the Vitamix this morning. Artfully arranged fruit with a generous sprinkle of granola and drizzle of honey. The special latte today was an Irish cream mocha. It was good but a bit sweet. I would get it again but ask for fewer pumps of syrup. My dining companion got the breakfast burrito, which he said was good but was small for $ 4.50. Whole wheat tortilla was a nice touch. Scones, bagels, French toast, pancakes, eggs and bacon plates also available until 10am. If you’re on Ford Island, you don’t have a ton of dining options. So, I’m keeping my review in context. If I could give them 3.5 stars, I would. I’d like to try them for lunch, when it sounds like they might earn a fourth star.

Awesome selection of food with great customer service. I recommend the poke bowls for only 7.00! Insanely delicious. The sushi chef works efficiently for the amount of customers he has! The salad bar is super affordable and very delicious. Only bought fries from the other vendor but they were crispy and delectable as well. If you’re on or near Ford Island, go into the NOAA building for lunch. Won’t disappoint. Waterfront views with plenty of seating and half off of premade food with your receipt from 2 – 3! Just do it.

Located in the NOAA Inouye Regional Center. The walk to the café goes through the NOAA displays which are cool and informative… whales, seals, tsunami, weather, etc. Food is super good, fresh and made from local beef and veggies. Adam at the coffee bar makes some mean and tasty drinks… great way to start the morning! The sushi is awesome and reasonably priced. Had the Volcano Bowl and it is super filling. Hamburger has great flavor and comes with plenty of fries. I also like the Oriental Chicken Wrap for a quick grab-n-go lunch. Staff are friendly and courteous. Looking forward to take home dinners!

First of all, this place is located at Ford Island. Do you know how many food options I had located at Ford Island??? 3! So when this place opened… I was tasked to do a little recon on this place(what what what? ??? Me?! Sweet! I love recon missions!) How could I resist?! Parking was plentiful but far from the main entrance. But hey its free! Inside the café it looks teeny tiny. BUT don’t be fooled. there are stations to get food. You can grab and go(lox of bagels, muffins, parfaits mmm), have made to order meal plates, fresh sushi rolls or bowls, made to order burgers and sandwiches and a salad bar. There is even a coffee and tea station. Adam, the man who makes the coffee is super nice. I am a starbucks fan, BUT sorry starbucks, he makes better coffee than you. I love his specials like mint berry mocha. He even has infused waters and lemonade made fresh. Now if you don’t want the hassle of waiting for you food to be made but you still want it hot, you can preorder for carryout by calling or ordering on their webtsite. If you do have time to sit and enjoy your food, they have a beautiful seating area right next to the café. Cons: It is a little on the pricey side and the grab and go items run out fast but other than that, it’ll do! The café does pride itself on using fresh ingredients and making healthier dishes. The place is clean and spacious. Overall this cute little addition to Ford Island has great potential!
