Awesome corner store. always have good musubis the chicken one is my fav. The korean lady is always nice. And to Jason G who left a comment below. You lucky you didn’t get ur ass beat that day. You shouldn’t walk into an establishment and use something with out getting permission. It’s called having manners and respect. Something you white people from the states don’t have. If it was me. I would have kicked you out to. Harrys liquor store is the best!!!

Today I tried to use the microwave and the people working here became very angry at me and told me to leave. I wasn’t doing anything wrong, but I brought my own organic rice bowl and it would have taken 90 seconds to heat. They don’t sell it or anything organic like it. It appears that an unfriendly Asian family runs this place. An old woman with a cane yelled at me and told me to leave and said that she was going to call the police. As I walked out, I told her I was leaving and that I wasn’t breaking any laws. I thought she might hit me with her cane. An older Asian man in his 50s or 60s who appeared to be her husband voiced his displeasure at me for not asking to use the microwave. However there was no indication anywhere that I needed permission. I told him that 7 – 11 lets me use theirs and I never ask them for permission. He said his store isn’t 7 – 11, which was quite obvious. As I was leaving and we were talking, an Asian kid in his 20s with tattoos up and down his arms and a black eye told me to leave. He glared at me without breaking eye contact as I got on my bike and he looked like he wanted to fight me. He walked unnecessarily close to me(within 1 – 2 feet away). I’ve been to Honolulu a half dozen times and I have been here for nearly five weeks and this is my first horrible experience and my first Unilocal.I was a consistent Unilocaler in Long Beach, but I wasn’t going to Unilocal here for a while. However this awful experience forced me to start now. There could have been a note about needing permission or they could have at least been respectful or kind to me. This is one of those weird, hole-in-the-wall places with overpriced stuff and mean-spirited people who seem to be after money and don’t really care about people. I will never return and I suggest that you avoid this business as well. It doesn’t get any worse than this and no matter how hard these people might pretend to be nice, they aren’t.

I know you’re suppose pour one out for the homies… but I’m going to pour one out for the UnilocalERS! Yeahhhh baby! I rarely hit the corner liquor store these days so oddly enough it’s POPCORN that brought me to the doors of Harry’s Liquor store on a Friday night. We decided to watch some movies at home with the family and my kids had a hankering for popcorn! We’d already passed the point of no return with heading back to the grocery store when my boyfriend suggested we hit up Harry’s! «Isn’t that a breakfast place?» I replied. To which he answered, «They have liquor store next door!» Well slap me silly and call me Harry because at this little unassuming store I found all the microwavable popcorn my little children could consume in one sitting! It’s not fancy by any means, but the owner was really pleasant and helpful. Not something I ever expect at a corner liquor store on a somewhat shady street. They’ve got a pretty wide assortment of sundries and I’ll certainly pop back in again if I should ever need to grab candies, energy drinks or kid approved snacks. Thank you Harry’s for helping to save movie night & make me look like a hero to my tikes!
