James was hired to do several random jobs around my condo. He was always paid in full however has never completed a job in its entirety. The last job was the install of a window a/c. In the process he shattered the window and as a «temporary fix» he put a piece of wood over where the glass is cracked. Over a year later of asking him to finish the work and repair the window he never replies. Now he is requiring me to take him to small claims to get the window repaired at least.

I recently hired James to build my deck, remodel my kitchen, baths, and install new drywall throughout my home in Kailua. He was quick, professional, and easy to work with. He got the job done faster than estimated and under budget. I am very satisfied with the quality of the work and it was a pleasure to work with James. I am recommending him to my coworker. Thank you James.

I was surprised to read the review from Teri O., for Haussmann’s Enterprise. It seems misplaced to me. James works regularly for one of the hotels in Waikiki and is hired out by the residents and condo owners as well. James has not worked for me personally, but he has worked for my friend and I was present to witness his work style. My friend was completely satisfied. James is personable and from what I know of his character, it just doesn’t seem like he would consider a job finished until the client was satisfied.

Teri O. Is so wrong. James has never worked for me personally, he has worked for two of my employers. James is knowledgeable and and does quality work. I would recommend and use his services.

I hired James Haussmann(owner of the company) to drywall my house. Per our conversation and contract he was to drywall, tape, mud, sand and prime to have the house READYTOPAINT. I would NEVERRECOMMONDORHIREHIM to do anything for me again. I would strongly recommend that you seek another«handy man» if you want quality work or even decent work done on any project. From over ordering of supplies(enough to drywall my house twice) to a shoddy drywall hanging job.(cut the 12 foot sheets into 4, 8 and 6 foot pieces to hang because he often times was hanging the drywall himself and couldn’t lift the 12 foot pieces he ordered) This left so much taping and mudding to do. He left holes in the walls, corners were broken ANDSTILLHUNG and then he just OVERMUDDED every corner of the house. He called me to tell me the drywall project was finished and that I could call the painters in to paint. When the painters showed up and began to do a walk through prior to prepping they said they couldn’t even begin to paint. They tried to roll paint over the«supposed primed ceiling» and the paint wouldn’t even stick to the ceiling because it was over mudded and not primed. The painters had to stop the painting project after only rolling a small area of the ceiling. The painter foreman then walked me through the house and took a spot light to the drywall and showed me just how flawed the tapping and mudding job was. He showed me the quarter size holes in almost every corner of the rooms, over mudding, no taping, even unfinished drywalled closets. The painter said it was the worst drywall job he had ever seen. When I text James about it and told him what the painters said he told me the«there is going to be flaws.» He then tried to blame the painters for his bad drywall job. He wrote me an email stating that the painters damaged the drywall and was«spraying» which they never did spray and proceded to place all the blame on the painters. NEVEROWNINGUPTOHISPOORJOBANDTRYINGTOPLACEBLAMEONSOMEONEELSE. I asked him to pay for the additional cost for me to repair what he didn’t do and he wanted to negotiate with me on the cost. Unfortunalty I trusted James and paid him in full. The cost to repair the drywall was $ 4700. Basically I had to hire a new carpenter to sand and RESKIN the entire house. This is the only way that they could fix all the damage James did to the drywall. DONOTHIREHIM. HEISINEXPERIECEDANDTALKS A GOODSTORY. EVERYTIME I QUESTIONEDTHINGSTHATDIDN’T LOOKRIGHTHESAID«DON’T WORRY, I HAVE A PLAN.» ITWILLALLBEGOODWHEN I’M FINISHED. Talk is cheap and so is James. I should have went with an experienced contractor. James doesn’t do good business, even after I pleaded with him to just do what was right.
