What happened to the acai bowl that they put in a cup? I hadn’t come here for awhile and so surprised to find several changes, the price for the acai bowl for one. It used to be just $ 6 and they put this in a cup. I’m disappointed for the smaller size and higher prices.

Honolulu Coffee is one of my top places on the island to grab some coffee. They have a great brand, and the quality of their roast and the beans certainly meets expectations of the Hawaii label in quality coffee. I’ve tried a variety of drinks at Honolulu Coffee, ranging from hot black French Press drink to the hot lattes, to the cold blended drinks, and I am always very satisfied with my purchase. They are consistent with the drinks, which all have wonderful aromas and deep, complex flavors. While the prices are a little bit higher than the average coffee shop, it is certainly worth the extra premium dollars for these quality drinks. This location is downtown in one of the large corporate buildings in the Plaza. It doesn’t get as much traffic as the one in Waikiki, which is really nice. If I still worked in this area, I would definitely be a regular here!

The coffee is pretty good here. The pastries are good as well since they started baking their own pastries at the main store. Likes: Their regular blend brewed coffee is good. In general, their coffee is more mellow than Starbucks. The croissants are flaky and buttery. Just make sure to get it toasted. Dislikes: Prices are slightly higher than a typical coffee shop, but it’s local. Favorites: I like their Americanos. The macadamia nut chocolate chip cookie is delicious and well priced(about $ 2). I would go here more often if there weren’t 5 – 6 coffee shops that were closer to my work.

They have great coffee. GREAT. You can also kind of piece together a light meal here between their quiche, sandwich, and acai bowl offerings. Limited indoor seating, and outdoor seating in Tamarind Park.

Ok so they must have changed how they make their acai bowl because the acai mixture is super bland and seems to be just some frozen acai sorbet rather than blended acai with strawberries and apple juice. Sigh. I loved the acai bowls here but now I guess the best choice downtown is Jamba

I ordered a dark roast of the drip coffee and it was good. I prefer Aroma Coffee’s dark roast, right across the street, but still enjoyed it. The atmosphere is bright, warm, and inviting. The staff was very friendly even at 6:15AM! I would still go back.

Good coffee. Friendly service. Handful of seating and clean space. They have some pastries(macarons, too!), sandwiches, bagels, and acai bowls. This is a good go-to for quick food/caffeine fixes.

I ordered Acai Smoothie to complement my lunch and it took almost 10 mins for them to prepare it apparently for some reason they missed it… I was ready to flip-out good thing Kat the barista offered me a free drink on her to compensate my waiting… I appreciate her gesture! So I will comeback for my free drink ;)

Their coffee is ok. I think Starbucks is better. But I like Honolulu Coffee Co.‘s food better. The acai bowl isn’t bad and their quiche is tasty.

I love my hot cocoa/chocolate and I always try it in every place I can find in the morning. This morning I hit jackpot at Honolulu Coffee on Bishop St. They were fast, friendly and the hot chocolate was unlike any other I had tried. I could pick this one out of a blind taste test. Yes, it was that good! It had a richer flavor, like a darker chocolate and was extra delicious with whipped cream. Yum!

The staff are so friendly! My boyfriend and I got coffee, and the coconut macaroon and a chocolate macaron. The macaroon were a bit more firm because I think they were in the fridge for the day before. The Latte was rich and the latte art was cute. I got regular Kona coffee with whipped cream on top. Their whip cream was fresh and wasn’t over whelming sweet. We will be back for more coffee for sure!

Honolulu Coffee Co. is the best place to buy an acai bowl downtown on a budget! It is a fair price for the basic ingredients of acai, banana and granola — no blueberries or strawberries, which are common in most acai bowls! — but you can pay 75 cents extra for honey. There used to be free honey on the bar with the free sugar, milk, etc. for coffee, but as of my visit today I noticed it was gone. Honolulu Coffee Co., if you are reading this, please bring back the free honey! It was a nice and delicious touch. If you have time to eat there, I recommend it. The to-go acai bowl comes in a cup rather than a bowl and can be messy when you take the lid off.

I’m not much of a coffee drinker, but I came with my coworker and got a mocha and a quiche. The mocha was alright but what kept me coming back was definitely the quiche! I got the ham with spinach I think, delicious! They will heat it up for you(highly recommended, I tried and burned it at work), it takes about 4 min. Also the employees are SUPER friendly and I mean genuinely friendly!

Okay. Average. Got a Nutty Hawaiian latte; my friend got a French press. Mine tasted more like hot milk with one shot of some flavor but wasn’t pronounced enough to know what it was. My «large» 16 oz was $ 5.25. Outside seating, free wi-fi. No bathrooms. Their bagged coffee, 100% Kona, cost $ 19.99. You can find 100% kona for $ 8.99 elsewhere.

Love their soy latte here. They use barista soy! The latte was smooth, even until the last bit! The barista was awesome & friendly! He steamed the milk just right, and the espresso tasted smooth. I will definitely come here again to get my coffee fix. Parking in downtown, especially if you don’t work here is pretty hard. I’ll probably make my boyfriend wait in the car as I do a quick coffee run, lol.

The service here is excellent. The owner and the girls are always all smiles when you walk in. They all greet you and say bye as you leave. Honestly, I don’t get that at other coffee joints. I love the iced coffee that they have here — I’m a sucker for Starbucks’ espresso drinks, but the coffee at Honolulu Coffee Co. wins. Lately I’ve also fallen for their acai bowls… it’s a weekly thing for me now. They do charge extra for honey(don’t miss out!), and after tax, it’s about $ 7, which I think is decent. They’re huge for what you’re paying, and I know other tourist trap places charge up to $ 11! Delicious, filling, and priced right. It’s definitely worth a try.

While it is a coffee shop, I went to Honolulu Coffee Company on the recommendation of a coworker. We were both craving acai bowls and he let me know that this coffee shop makes them. I was a little hesitant at first because it’s a coffee shop; not exactly known for healthy foods or acai bowls, but there is no harm in trying it out. For $ 5.75, the acai bowl is pretty cheap(I’ve had ones that were a similar size but more expensive — about $ 9). It comes with granola and fresh banana slices. I loved it! The acai smoothie blend had a nice flavor, not too sweet or tart. The texture was how I liked it — similar to a thick smoothie. The ratio of granola and fresh banana to the acai blend was perfect. Usually, acai bowls have much more acai than granola, but I like having granola with every bite. The granola was crunchy. The bananas were perfectly ripe. It was the best acai bowl I’ve had in awhile. Definitely will be coming back for breakfast soon.

Found myself in downtown Honolulu trying to wrap up a few things at work on a Friday afternoon. Needed to find a coffee shop with wi-fi. There is a Starbucks across the street but I decided to go with the local option, Honolulu Coffee Company(HCC). This HCC is located in the lobby of the American Savings Bank Tower on Bishop Street. There are two entrances, one on the outside and one within the building. Not much seating here, just a handful of tables and chairs. There are also a few tables right outside the coffee shop. There is indeed free wi-fi here. I could connect in the courtyard outside so the connection is pretty good. I wanted to get some 100% Kona coffee since I was in Hawaii. I see that they have French press Kona coffee here. Initially I asked for this, but the barista mentioned they had brewed pure drip Kona coffee so I got a medium cup for a little over $ 2. The Kona coffee was brewed nicely and has a bold flavor to it. In addition to coffee, they have teas and pastries including macarons! Tried two of the macarons, haupia and lilikoi which were $ 1.75 each. These were okay, but I like the ones in Seattle better. They didn’t taste as chewy and delicate as the ones I find here. I did like the tropical flavors within each. The store’s customer base is primarily the worker crowd. I like that the HCC staff here greeted many of their regular customers by name in a warm and friendly manner. If I was working in the area, this is a coffee shop that I would go to because they have good coffee and a nice staff. If you are looking for Kona coffee and good service, visit HCC.
