Found this place after dinner at Thank Q Pocha. It’s located right behind it kinda. Haha you won’t miss is trust me! Walked in the and was greeted immediately. We got seated and were given the house rules to read and the menu… So it’s $ 15 an hour and then $ 10 per bowl(you can mix flavors as well). And it’s BYOB I see guys with their coolers and beers and also people bringing in food… We got the mint chocolate shisha and the server recommended to use the icicle on the hose for a better taste. It was our first time in their so we just went along with whatever he recommended. The seating and interior felt really chill, it was really dark in their with rap music in the background, lol we were straight up chilling! Our hookah came and it was with only one hose, so my friend and I would pass it to each other with every drag. I don’t know what it was but we were the only one choking, hahaha I’m not sure if we’re going something wrong or hookah wasn’t for us! Nonetheless, our hour came up and we decided to leave… Oh and bathroom is located in the left back section of the room. I’d probably come again in a larger group, and bring some beers!!!

Things seemed well until I settled up our bill. The server was dishonest, saying that we arrived at an earlier time and had written and admitted to it. Second was that he hadn’t written off the promotion and I again had to correct that from my bill. He would not give me a receipt. This experience left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I do not recommend patronizing this business for their dishonesty and unprofessionalism.

First time fun! Came here the other night for a Monday /girls night hang out. Wasn’t sure what to expect but we know it’s BYOB and we both wanted to try the hookah. Spent a good 4 hours plus! Place is simple: couches and small parking lot behind ala moana. Parking was full and I ended up parking at ala moana but later found a spot. It was mellow. BYOB: they provide things in cans and cups. No ice though. And the place was super warm! Like almost a sauna warm. I’m sure all the smokes didn’t help. Keith was our hookah server/hookup. In the beginning we didn’t quite enjoy it(kept coughing with every puff) but later we got the ice house and it made it better. Way smoother. First flavor was tried was guava, pineapple and lilikoi I believe. It was good. Lasted us a while. A good two hours. Second one we had was STP. This we could’ve skipped. I don’t smoke anything and this hit me hard. Like put me to bed hard. And almost fell asleep going all the way back home to Hawaii Kai! Definitely needed water and ice in drinks. Our bill came out to around $ 100 with tips. Kind of pricey! But I don’t know how much hookah run so I can’t compare it to anything. Overall, it’s a fun spot. Music was nice. It was more expensive than expected but that’s just me. I’m sure it’s great if you’re a fan/know how! You can have up to 5 people per hookah. Bring your alcohol, ice and friends! Oh yea: they might be moving to soon to a newer bigger spot with a full bar! Even DJ and stuff. Sounds fun to me! Or you can try the small spot as they are! 3 stars place plus one for the service and company! Not for everyday use! Obviously!

We have been coming here for a couple of years now, and always enjoy the service and hookah flavors. The ambience is great! Right when you get in you feel the comfortable and inviting aura. Keith welcomed us right away and offered us to sit anywhere. Who knew picking a seat could be hard. There were so many options. But we decided on a comfy love seat on the back. The lounge gives you this middle eastern atmosphere with a modern flare to it. The ceilings were draped and there was a big TVS for everyone to see. There is also some drinks and snacks for sale if needed. We never know what to pick for flavors, so Keith recommended one that gave a fruity pebbles taste. It was point on like having a spoon if fruity pebbles in your mouth! The price with just like any other hookah lounge. But what sets it a part is that the CLEANLINESS and the inviting atmosphere. It’s a great place to lounge and chat with friends. The one thing I don’t like is the parking situation. There is only a couple of stalls in the front, and the building next door does not allow anyone to park there. So it’s bothersome to have to park at ala moana and walk across. Overall, this is a nice place to enjoy talking and hookah while lounging on a date or with friends, watch sports and just chill. You may want to think of ubering down tho.

A friend told me about Hookahookah which is located just across the street from Ala Moana Shopping Center with the entrance on Kona Street. Having served in Iraq, I’m very familiar hookah and even have my own hookah with four pipes and everything but I keep it neatly wrapped up for a hookah party sometime in my home. Honestly, because I like things very neat, it’s quite a chore to take it out set it up use it and then clean it and put it away. So going to a hookah shop is quite a luxury. The owner, Mike explained everything to us and demonstrated techniques that I was not familiar with like having ice at the end of the pipe. I like to put ice cubes in my water. Hookahookah is BYOB and bring your own food so it can be a very chill place to hang out with friends. Some of the seating is not especially comfortable. The outdoor seating basically faces the parking lot and dumpsters so it’s just not a great view. Inside there are TVs with closed captioning but I wish it had something more in line with the hooka atmosphere. It was a good experience and it makes me want to host my own hookah party in my home sometime soon.

So we checked out Hookahooka last night. Let me preface this by saying I’m not really a smoker meaning no cigars or cigarettes but I have tried something similar called shisha in Thailand a couple years ago. Hookahookah has a small parking lot that holds about 5 cars on the Kona Street side of the building. The place was almost empty except for maybe another 3 or 4 people. Shortly after arriving, someone came over to seat us and I told him that I had never been there before and he was extremely patient, polite and explained everything. I found out later that he was Mike, the owner. We went with his recommendation of flavoring called Ortasma. It’s a very laid back place with many booths and outside seating. You may bring in your own food and alcoholic beverages. They sell mixers there. Hookahookah is definitely a very relaxing environment and 1 pipe may be shared by up to 5 people so I can be a pretty cool place to lounge and hang out. I definitely recommend going with friends so you can share the cost and definitely BYOB.

The only hookah place on the island so it’s the best in town! The staff is nice so that’s a plus. They have a good selection of flavors but I do wish they had more fumari flavors. My friends and I went 3 times and each time they charged differently even though it’s a set price which was odd. Fridays and Saturdays are packed but it’s more chill on the weekdays which I prefer.

After attempting to go to the other hook rooftop we went to a couple times before and finding it closed. I quickly Unilocaled and found this spot. We got here about 9:30pm is on a Friday and have to say we were very surprised at the interior as the exterior can look like a mini parking lot to an alley. We parked across the street at Ala Moana, easy peasy. They sat us quickly and the people here are wonderful! We said what types we liked, they suggested, we smoked and brought our own beer/crown to enjoy as well! Prices were great, crowd was diverse and we will be back!

Cool hang out, great shisha brands, chill vibes, great service. I have recently been slightly addicted to hookah, so we have been investigating the best hookah spots around island. Looks like HookahHookah may be the only hookah bar left. Upon my first visit, I was so shocked about how many other people were into hookah. The crowd was very diverse. This is no longer just a college trend. When we entered HookahHookah, people were overspilling into the walkways waiting for tables. We were lucky to be seated with another group who were on their way out. The venue. I really love the décor inside and music inside the lounge. There are plenty comfy couches and tables. Also, the music is modern and hip. Mostly Drake, The Weekend, etc. Reminds me of a more familiar urban or LA scene. I do wish the lounge was more open air. If you are not into Hookah, you will definitely get a contact buzz for being in the smoke filled room. The staff. The staff is very attentive. As soon as you enter, they greet you and seat you. Sometimes they were a little slow on getting the hookah started and service but my latest experience was great. We had three different staff member waiting on us and checking the coals. It was great. The hookah. So many different shisha brands. The price is around 15 an hour and 10 for the shisha. You can also get an ice hose for an extra 10 an hour. Need to try the ice house sometime. I would recommend flavors: Double Apple and/or Guava. I was really surprised on how smooth Guava was. Its BYOB — need I say more? Grab a six pack or bottle of wine and head on over.

The service was amazing. The ambience amazing too. But be warned that its a bit expensive. I over stayed my welcome by sitting and extra hour, which was an additional 15 bucks. However my wife was looking at how they pack their bowls and it’s very interesting! We now can take that knowledge home!

This was a lot of fun! The ambiance was was nice, and the hookah was delicious. Pros — BYOB&BYOF(food), so hell, bring a pizza and some beer or whatever your palate desires! They also have big booths, small booths, sofas, and overall relatively comfy seating and groups don’t really clash much. Cons — Depending on how you view BYOB, this is either great or not so great. If you want to buy alcohol you’ll have to go around the corner and bring it back.(But at least that guarantees your alcohol will be cheaper???) Also, it’s a bit pricey if you’re doing larger groups. For 8 people for a few hours and two hookahs with two flavors each — came out to almost $ 200. Also, water is $ 2.50 for a bottle — no cups of water here. BRINGYOUROWNWATER. Overall opinion — very fun, but the experience largely depends on how much you bring with you!

I was actually really impressed by Hookahhookah. They have quite the selection of shisha brands and flavors. The drags are really smooth and the staff is attentive. What I really liked about this place is how chill the staff is. They checked up on us a bunch of times. They came and blew on our coals and restocked when we needed. And towards the end of our stay, we were the only ones there, and one of the staff members actually came around and offered us a free ice hose since it was our first time there. This generosity sold the place to me and I’m going to be a frequent customer. I really liked it and I’ll be back soon.

It’s been a while since I’ve done hookah. The last memory I had was being down in soho near Chinatown at a friends birthday party. I was pretty stoked to find this place on Unilocal. My friend and I headed over after boot camp around 7pm. It did not have the most attractive appearance on the outside, but you never judge a book by its cover;). Once we walked in, we saw that it looked empty with just two other people enjoying theirs. We were greeted by one of the employees and were told that we could sit wherever we liked. We glanced around and became fixated on these chairs that looked like leather. They did feel like heaven once we sat in them. He explained that there were flavored tobaccos that we could choose to smoke. We chose the passion fruit mojito which was lovely, and a lot of fun! What I love about this place is that it is BYOB and food. What place can you actually do that in a setting like this. It is a dark dim lighted lounge with couches, and chairs next to several other hookah stations. By the register there is drinks and chips for purchase. We were informed that the weekends are pretty packed and its first come first serve seating. Once my hubby gets back I can’t wait to bring him here! Prices are also reasonable as well

Friendly staff, great interior, and service! Love the ice chamber as it makes your shisha experience that much better. 4*‘s instead of 5 due to expensive prices,(worth it if multiple people throw down $ on your table) and lack of quality AC, especially on busy nights! I wouldn’t mind the prices of they upgraded their AC. Still, my new go-to for hookah!

This hookah place is so cool! I went with three friends and we shared the peach flavor. Very chill place to relax after we had been having a rowdy time at Thank Q Pocha next door. They don’t serve alcohol but they are BYOB until 12am. The worker was attentive and rotated our coals for us when necessary. Very relaxing place, I will definitely be back. Best hookah I have ever had in Hawaii!

I love hookah!!! And Burning Tree has always been my go-to hookah joint here in Hawaii. Until now! HookahHookah is a chill, small, indoor hookah joint right across Ala Moana shopping center, & is a little bigger than Burning Tree. The music is geared for the young crowd, with Hip-Hop and Rap as the main music genres. My friends & I decided to come here around 10pm and this place was really cool. There’s a few booths to sit at and apparently they charge by the hour & by the amount of people. Luckily for us, a friend of mine was feeling quite generous and decided to pay our whole tab. Free hookah sesh? I’ll take that! It’s also BYOB, but they take your alcohol away at 12(or have you take them out yourselves). Overall a really cool, chill spot to smoke hookah at. Bring your friends & some alcohol, & it’s a hookah party!

With Hawaii’s oppressive anti-smoking laws, it’s a miracle this place exists. I’m thrilled to have a convenient hookah lounge nearby, but even more so since this place is clean, comfortable, and a good value with a large selection. Look no further than Hookahookah, it’s really the only place worth coming to! The bar is located along Kona St. under Ala Moana Center. There is tons of parking around, with a small free lot right outside the doors. The bar is kept dark and clean to aid in the relaxed mood the hookah provides. Music is eclectic and fun, but always kept at a volume conducive to talking with friends. There is tons of seating– booths, sofas, chairs. It really doesn’t matter how big your party is, they should be able to accommodate. Importantly, the bar is clean, as are the hookahs. Nozzle tips are provided for each person. The door is usually kept open and ventilation is good to keep the smoke and air as fresh as possible. A bathroom is available, but it’s only a single unisex, which can lead to lines. The menu is very long, which special flavors offered. Feel free to mix and match as well. Pricing is reasonable for the demand of Honolulu, but is not a cheap activity. Each bowl of tobacco costs a fixed amount plus essentially a sitting fee charged by the hour. As is customary, no alcohol is available, but soft drinks and teas are offered in abundance. If you’re looking for a night out with friends away from the loud clubs and divey bars, this is the place to come.

The staff here are very helpful and attentive. They answered all of our questions expertly and even joked with us.(My friend said the ice hose looked like a rocket launcher). My friend and I went at night. The atmosphere was nice, not too loud, very chill. I liked how the shop is indoors with air conditioner and that the booths are made so that it kind of separates one group from another. The pricing was decent and you could park at Bank of Hawaii which is nearby. I wouldn’t mind coming here again.
