HTK Hawaii – Hawaiian Snow

You don’t know how relieved I am to have heard about this place! It came recommended when I asked around for someplace to purchase shave ice supplies for a fundraising event. It wasn’t too hard to locate, just off of King Street. Parking is tight, just a few spots up front but they were all open when I arrive in the afternoon. The whole purchase process went quickly and smoothly… it was ME trying to decide which flavors to specialty purchase that took the longest. They have the syrup base ready to mix with whatever concentrate flavorings you choose. And their selection is vast! Good prices. Great stock on hand. I was accidentally charged for one more pump than I had actually purchased but I’m not gonna nitpick for $ 4. Happy holidays :)
PS. the Orange Dreamsicle flavor is the bomb!

Don’t know what the hype is about this place. I heard that this is where many businesses get their syrups so I decided to buy some for a party. The good thing was that they had a wide variety of flavors to choose from. I purchased 5 different flavors but when I tried them they all tasted very similar and artificial. This can’t be the same syrups that the popular shave ice shops in Hawaii uses.

I own a shave ice business here in So. Cal. I am proud to say I use HTK’s shave ice supplies. They have excellent customer service. They process and ship out your orders quick! One day, I had problems with a shaver I purchased from them, they actually had a rep come out and checked it (thanks Kim). Their forums (link located on their web page) are an excellent source to get into the business.

Very friendly staff. they got a lot of flavors to choose from. Got every thing i need from there to start making my own shave ice. Its definitely a place to check out if you are interested in shave ice.

Definitely recommend to other customers who need supplies for their store. You can count on HTK for being a reputable business that has been around for more than 20 years.
The store has so many to offer, machines, syrups, cups, straws, spoons. They even offer popcorn and cotton candy supplies! This place is like the one stop shop!
Key things I liked about HTK was their wide selection of flavors and their shaved ice cups!
Check them out, just don’t say I didn’t warn you if you get cravings for shaved ice!

While vacationing in Honolulu, I decided to visit a local shaved ice supply shop and I was quite impressed with their customer service; I walked into the store without knowing what I wanted to get and the sales representative guided me through the process of buying syrups and machines. They also offered me some free samples along with my purchase. The sales representative showed me how the machines should operated and how finely the ice would be shaved. The variety of syrup flavors they had left me speechless; there were over fifty different flavors to choose from! The representative advised me on which flavors were popular, which machines shaved the ice in a snow-​like texture and which machines shaved in a grainy-​like texture, and what equipment I would need. I would most definitely come back to buy more supplies and flavors or order from their online website,

This is where most shave ice vendors get their supplies from in Oahu. Great place to go to when you want to bring shave ice home. They have very friendly service and are very helpful. With a large selection of flavors, it’s hard to pick what you want! I wanted to try everything! But unfortunately, it’s too much to carry back so I will definitely be back for more! Most of their flavors are very good. I’m skeptical about some… But the ones I’ve tried are just simply irresistible. Love their colors and love their taste. Looks and tastes great! What more can you ask for?

HTK has an extensive list of flavors and very helpful staff, but I find that the lychee syrup always spoils/​molds fast. It’s not the equipment I use, and the owners claim they have no idea what would be causing it, but of the twenty three flavors we buy from HTK, lychee is the only one that does this. Therefore, instead of a four or a five, they get a three.

I’ve tried HTK’s syrups many times

Okay syrups, not the best I’ve tasted. Many of the flavors tasted the same, just sweet. My favorite flavor of all time is Strawberry but HTKs strawberry was not the one I was looking for. The people working at their shop weren’t the most helpful either. So all in all I wouldn’t recommend HTK for syrups.

Shaved ice afficionados know that the Hawaiian Snow brand is one of the best in the business. If you want to buy some Hawaiian Snow syrup (or other shaved ice supplies), HTK is the place to go.
This past summer, my co-​worker and I went on a shaved ice binge. And we didn’t want just any shaved ice, we wanted Hawaiian Snow shaved ice. So when I took my weary soul over to Oahu for a week in September, I vowed to find some Hawaiian Snow syrup to take home for us.
A quick Google search came up with HTK. Imagine my surprise when I found out they were actually based in Northern California. But they did have a supply warehouse in Honolulu.
The store has about four parking spaces outside and is located on a tiny street in Honolulu. It’s right on the border of a residential area so it almost looks like you’re in the wrong place until you see the sign out front.
When you walk in there’s just a tiny lobby area where you place your order. There are convenient order sheets on the front counter for this. All you do is fill one out, hand it to the person at the counter, and they go grab everything you want from the back. The best part is they have practically every flavor, all the time. They also have machines, ice, cups, and everything else you could want for shaved ice. The prices are exactly what you’d find online. And since you’re shopping in person you don’t have to worry about shipping! Or waiting for your syrup to get to you!
Since there was no one else in the shop when we walked in, we were in and out of there in 15 minutes, which was awesome. I’m pretty sure they usually cater to businesses or people buying supplies for events, but they were perfectly happy to give me six 4 oz. bottles of syrup to take home. And my co-​worker was ecstatic when she saw her present, which means I’m now excused from getting her a Christmas present this year!
