I had the chicken, potatoes with pear glaze and it was amazing(sorry I can’t remember what the actual name is)! Sooo much food, had to take almost half of it home with me. The atmosphere was amazing and service was great too. I will come back soon and recommend it to everyone.

Came here for valentine’s day for dinner and we were slightly late arriving for our booking. The wait for walk ins was 1.5 hrs(this was@550pm) .the greeters were happy to accommodate us and promptly sat us down. Raquel our amazing waitress, is what made our night; that, and the view. She was on point with her drink recommendations, food menu and ingredient knowledge and our water glasses were never empty. She took the time with each table to make sure they were having a great experience. The food was good. Our appetizers of portabello mushroom fries and coconut shrimp were nice and the salsa for the shrimp really tasty. My peppercorn steak wasn’t the best I’ve had but the sides of fresh local asparagus and mash were more than enough to compensate. My hubbies steak dish was cooked perfectly but too small for his liking. Yes we filled up on the focaccia bread to start with and couldn’t fit any desert in but the next table’s giant slice of pie looked awesome. We were seated closest to the kitchen area, with a nice view of the palm trees and the water at sunset and the tiki torches lighting up the balcony too at night. Overall it was a relaxed, smart casual type of place. Lastly the prices of the meals were about what you would expect from the location if not a bit more.

I love breakfast and dinner here, but 5 stars are for happy hour and brunch. Mainly happy hour. Skip the crowd downstairs at Dukes. It runs from 4pm-6pm in the bar. Get there closer to 4 and snag a high top with an ocean view. The Mac-nut crab won tons are killer and they make a delish Mai tai. Perfect after a long day on Waikiki beach!

Five stars for happy hour and dinner. Wonderful location above Dukes with balcony to lookout at Waikiki beach and hear live Dukes music. Pretty good happy hour prices too… try the Mai tai. Dinner is the real star of the show. The food is very good, especially the fresh fish. Got the fish special and it was outstanding. They have a chef who really knows how to combine flavors and foods. Drinks get the pineapple grog. They put your drink in a hallowed out pineapple. And their version of Moscow mule is soooooo gooooood! During the winter months sunset is around 6:15 — 6:30 and it’s a perfect time to have dinner here on the patio. Wife and I split a salad, had one drink each and full dinner entrees for $ 130. Not too bad considering the scenery, music, sunset and quality of food.

We came here for happy hour aka we didn’t have dinner reservations and didn’t want to wait for a table. We sat by the bar area. Our server was friendly and quick with the service. I had a mai tai, it was just okay here. Something was off about the mai tai, perhaps the rum that they used. My fiancé ended up finishing it for me. I had the fish and chips and it was decent tasting. My fiancé had the burger and fries and he seemed to enjoy it. We didn’t opt for any dessert here. Overall, the ambiance of the place was nice. I would probably come back here with reservations if we come back to beautiful Oahu.

Updated review: This was always my most favorite place to eat in Waikiki. I love coming early in the morning, watching the sun come up while shoving eggs Benny in my mouth. While the location is still the most amazing, the food wasn’t the greatest. Not a fan of the jade hollandaise, too garlicky. And the homestyle potatoes were waaaay to spicy. I miss the old hula grill food :(

Five star for the ambiance right off the bat. The food wasn’t anything special(usual bar food)… The sunsets are incredible and the live music is so solid.

Good food! The service is good. The view is beautiful! The banana mac panckes are delicious! They are pricey but so are most places in the area.

This restaurant is located inside The Outrigger Hotel, in the same building as the famous Duke’s Barefoot Bar. My husband was wanting a loco moco and the reviews on this place looked fantastic so we decided to stop by for breakfast. We were greeted by the hostess and seated promptly. We each order a juice, I got the POG and he got orange. We both ordered the loco moco it came with the standard rice and egg and hamburger. And the part I didn’t like was the lilikoi sauce. Just didn’t go well. Other customers dishes looked great! So maybe if we come back I’ll get traditional breakfast items like pancakes or French toast vs the loco novo

We were seated on the patio, which gave us a great view of the ocean. It was about a 30 minute wait so I got started with a Waikiki Wasabi Bloody Mary. Here’s what we ordered as far as food goes: — Portobello Mushroom Fries — nothing too special — Fried Rice Fo’ Days — surprising really good! — Crab and Macademia Nut Wontons — this one was really good. sauce was great too! — Sweet Soy Duroc Ribs — very flavorful and delicious. I would recommend giving this place a try. Can’t beat good food, fresh air, and a great view!

Went here early in the morning on a Monday, around 9am and only had to wait 5 min. Service: Hostess was very kind and told us we only had to wait 5 min. They took us to a table and opened the napkins and placed them on our lap and gave us menus. The server was very kind and gave awesome recommendations and helpful advice depending on what we liked. I asked for a coffee to go, and he came out with a small togo cup. Food: We ordered a pineapple smoothie which tasted fresh but was a bit too runny for my liking. I ordered a cup of joe which was good. For breakfast I ordered the BLT croissant sandwich. It was good but would have liked a bit more bacon or cheese to make it less dry and more flavorful. It came with hash browns which were ok. Husband got croissant French toast, I would recommend to get the maple syrup sauce on the side… Or else you may not like your meal.

The breakfast is AMAZING! Our waitress Trinette was VERY attentive & made great recommendations. The green tea is not your average tea it had a citrus kick to it which made it tasty. The natural pineapple juice is the best I’ve ever tried. The omelette with ham, sausage, green onions and cheddar cheese was my favorite thing on the menu, it was accompanied by seasoned potatoes and sweet bread. The view is spectacular. Definitely worth having breakfast here!

I was in Honolulu, staying in Waikiki as part of a business trip. I did a bunch of Unilocaling to find out where to eat. Duke’s was near the top while still being in our price range. I kept the Hula as a backup just in case. As luck would have it, Duke’s had too long of a wait, so we came to Hula Grill. I wish the reviews really reflected how amazing this place is. The food was absolutely delightful! I ordered the shrimp and scallops. They were cooked and seasoned beautifully. The squash purée was by far the best I’ve ever had. My coworkers and I ate every bit on our plates! It was so delicious. The view was peaceful and beautiful. The service was also top-notch. Our server was attentive, friendly, and helpful. The atmosphere is a bit more high-end, although, we didn’t find the food any more pricey and we felt just fine there in jeans. I did end up going to Duke’s the following night as a comparison as well as to try something new. I was disappointed and wished I would have re-visited the Hula Grill. This place is one of the best restaurants I’ve been to and by far the best I’ve had in Waikiki. If you are in the area, make this your top pick. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed!

I was super drunk from the lunch drink. And I was craved for food. So we headed out to this place at 4:30 and they were not seating dinner table till 4:45. I was dying of food and so I sat at the bar for a bowl of fries. They tasted really good. Later we were seated outside at the patio where the sunset view was astonishing. Really amazing Waikiki beach view(not the crowd of people). I don’t remember much of the food. But between 5 – 6 they serve dinner combo, very good deal $ 27 per person you get 3-course. That you find nowhere in Waikiki… So try for that.

Get here early or make reservations to get some good ocean views. I wanted some Hawaiian style breakfast and this place has everything. They’re mostly known for their dinners and late night activities, but they’re also good with some nice breakfast. And they serve alcohol too in the early morning hours. I had two big plates of fried race and pineapple coconut pancakes. Oh dang… both were so good. Filled me up, but I wanted more. And you can have time to recover and relax by just hanging out at the balcony and hear the ocean waves right there. Decent prices too for a touristy area. So I’m coming back again for some more breakfast on my next trip here.

Went here twice, once for dinner and once for happy hour. Dinner I got the steak special which was for 2 and was $ 81, it was incredible. My girlfriend got the fish and said it was a little dry. Try not to fill up on the bread, it is amazing with the sweet chili dipping sauce, but the main course is even better so don’t eat too much of the bread. Happy hour here is cheap and perfect for what you want for a snack. Would recommend this happy hour to everyone! The view is outstanding if you can eat at sunset.

This will always be one of my favorite restaurants on the island, hands down for best meal and service! Service: 5 stars, every time we come here the service is on point. Friendly servers and wait staff. We were checked on throughout our meal & drinks were always refilled. Location: 5 stars, easy time find and outdoor seating overlooking the ocean is everything you could and more. Make reservations in advance to get the prime seating it goes quickly. Food: 5 stars, wish I could give it 10! Probably one of my favorite meals on the island from start to finish. The bread with the«hula sauce» is to die for. I always buy a bottle to bring back home with me, spicy olive oil with a real taste of the island i always have people asking me for it and where I buy it. Starter Cesar salad was also good, not the best I’ve ever had or anything but if order it again. **Now for the best dish ever, Their Steak Diane!!! OMG to die for! After having seafood for most of the vacation to have a really amazing steak at the end was perfection. Medium rare filet covered in the best butter mushroom sauce over potatoes and veggies I’ll never forget this meal. Everyone tried a bite at the table and was sold on it :) highly recommend this steak. Lastly end with a piece of hula pie and your amazing dining experience is complete

I love the ambience. It’s definitely breathtaking, and it felt awesome to sit where you have an awesome view of the ocean, and the nice cool breeze blowing in your face. Absolutely relaxing. Our server was amazingly friendly, she was so sweet and had a lot of energy. I wish I got her name tho, all I know is that if I ever go back here, I hope she is the one serving me. The food was delicious! I had a Portuguese eggs Benedict. It was fricken amazing, the potatoes are so soft, totally worth it! We also had a croissant toast, paired with a side of bacon maple syrup, it wasn’t the best toast in the world but definitely something you should try. The syrup was interesting. Overall, I think what got me most about this place is definitely the scenery. I felt relaxed and I was able to see Hawaii’s beautiful ocean. Thank you for an amazing experience!

Here’s why I love Hula Grill– and so should you. There’s nothing like a good breakfast with fabulous view, and the sound of the sea, mixed with Hawaiian music. and of course– an awesome server, like Megan. Hula Grill, is undoubtedly one of the best spots to watch the sunrise in Waikiki. Drop whatever you are doing, and Just grab a table! Seriously– right now, or you’ll miss out on a great breakfast treat: fresh, delicious, large plantation waffle, filled with pineapple and topped with fresh pineapple, mascarpone cream and coconut. Salute that breathtaking sunrise with of a fresh Kona brewed Coffee cup. Four and Half Unilocal

Hula Grill is on the second floor of an indoor plaza connected to a hotel. It was difficult to find the place. I loved the view of this place though. We got seated in 5 – 10 min and got seats next to the beach. on the second floor this was an amazing dinning experience. We came here to try out the breakfast. I think the menu is very similar to Duke’s Waikiki. Anyway, a solid pick for a beautiful breakfast.

This will be a short review because my friends and I only came here for the hula pie. Located right above Duke’s. Hula Grill seems to share the same kitchen. We arrived around 5:30ish for their hula pie and were told Duke’s was pretty booked for dinner and they had a private party, but the hostess suggested we can go upstairs to the Hula Grill to order the same pie. Once upstairs, our 2 pies came out in about 5 minutes after we placed the order. It’s essentially a mud pie, but instead of coffee ice cream, they serve mac nut ice cream. It’s huge, enough for 2 people to share, it’s covered with a rich chocolate sauce and chopped nuts. Very decadent and satisfying. The service was excellent. Even though it was dinner time, they didn’t seem to mind we were only there for the pies, and they never rushed us. We will be back for sure!

The food was good but the place was pretty pricy! I got chicken lollipops that were drenched(in a good way) in hot sauce and had this cilantro ginger sauce to the side. We also got the calamari which came out in thick strips and wasn’t chewy at all. The main reason we went was for the Shishito Peppers which were good! We were hoping to get some spicy ones but they were mild as could be :( Overall the food was very good!

Came here for brunch around 11am on a Sunday. It’s on the 2nd floor of the Outrigger Hotel in Waikiki. It sits on top of Duke’s, which only serves a brunch buffet on Sundays. The restaurant wasn’t full, but we had to wait about 5 minutes so we could be seated on the balcony overlooking the beach. The view was gorgeous and I’d eat here against just to sit at the restaurant. Our waitress was very nice, but kept forgetting to bring my drink from the bar. I had to ask her to check in on it after a while. We ordered: 1. Chorizo and sweet potato hash — this came out in a skillet with two poached eggs. This was good, not amazing, but good. 2. Fried Rice — This also came with two poached eggs. It wasn’t anything special, so don’t order this. All the ingredients were chopped up. 3. Polynesian pick me up — Vodka, OJ, and a hint of POG. It was mostly just Vodka and OJ, there was barely any POG. Order something else. 4. Iced tea — Just a regular iced tea with unlimited refills. I had some extra in my cup so the waitress gave me a take-out cup. That was really nice of her.

Went for breakfast and promptly seated. The Lobster and Asparagus Benedict was a first and really good. Added was the amazing strawberry waffles(sorry couldn’t get the names a 100%.) The food was well presented and tasted really good. Plus they were the only place we went to which served freshly squeezed guava juice. Overall a complete breakfast and a wonderful time.

Superbe.

HULAGRILL was so good that we went three time in nine days! Twice for breakfast, and another time for dinner. Hula Grill is located on the second floor of the Outrigger and has GREAT views of the beach. For breakfast I had the Kahuna Burrito both times. It was big and the bomb. It had three fresh Hawaiian eggs, Hawaiian chorizo, sweet potatoes, Maui onion, bacon, local tomato salsa and chipotle aioli. It was so freakin good! For the record, the croissant French toast is also good(had a bite). For dinner, the Hula Grill gave me one of my favorite meals while in Hawaii. I had the macadamia nut crusted Mahi Mahi with mashed potatoes and local veggies. Without a doubt, the best piece of fish I’ve had in my entire life. It moved me… The Hula Pie dessert was no slouch either! Easy 5 star score from me!
