Iwahiro-Tanabe Marsha Y DDS

If you are looking for a great dentist, professional and courteous support, and an excellent overall dental expereince, look no further! I have been meaning to write a review for Dr. Tanabe for a while now, and finally getting around to it as another year is almost over.
Dr. Marsha (she shares a practice with her husband, Jon, thus the use of her first name) has been our dentist for about 14 years. Both my son, now 15, and I are her patients, and her dental care is top-​notch. The office is conveniently located and parking is easy. They respect your time and are ALWAYS on time (in all these years, I have ever waited only a few minutes… in fact, if I am running late I have to call to re-​schedule) and it is ALWAYS a pleasure to visit this office.
The office is nice, and very clean — but nothing fancy. I like that… who needs a fancy office?
If you’re a kid, they have fun toys and kid toothbrushes. (important!) :)
They will get to know you and you’ll get to know them, and you’ll feel like they genuinely care about you.
Dr. Marsha is the BEST. When I go, even just for the regular cleaning, etc, I don’t just get seen by the hygienist, as is the case in some offices. I always get taken care of by Dr. Marsha! She is kind, calm, competent and awesome. Her assistants are always nice as well. Liza, who works in the front, has been there for many years and is also terrific.
As a pediatric dentist, Dr. Marsha shines!
My son was never afraid of the dentist, because she takes the time to make sure every patient is comfortable. Let’s face it, going to the dentist is not really that fun. But he started there as a really little guy, and I know one reason why my son never had anxiety is because of the wonderful care he received. There are so many who hate the dentist, but this office shows it is possible to have an enjoyable dentist experience! :)
I’d also like to mention that Dr. Jon Tanabe serves by going overseas to provide dental care as a Reservist. It is tremendous to see how they give back in this way. And although we don’t know him very well, I can tell his patients love him, too.
Bottom line:
I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Marsha Tanabe and I hope that if you are looking for an excellent dentist for you and your family, you will check her out!

I broke one of my lower incisors at 1:30pm today, Chinese New Year’s. I called 11 different Tricare-​approved dentists without finding a single one who was still open for business this late on a Friday afternoon and on a Chinese holiday. Finally, I called Dr. Tanabe’s office and they were able to offer me an appointment at 2:45pm. Her office was easy to find, and the administrative staff were courteous and professional in taking all my personal and insurance information. I was seen promptly at my appointment time and well-​prepped by the dental technician. Dr. Tanabe is an extremely nice lady who showed genuine concern for my health and comfort, quickly assessed the damage to my tooth, and expertly repaired it in less than 45 minutes. No needles, no pain, just excellent restorative work that put me right back home with full dental function. My broken tooth looks cosmetically perfect, and my co-​pay was very reasonable. I could not possibly have expected a better outcome or dental experience. I would recommend Dr. Tanabe to anyone needing dental care on Oahu.
