Delicious dinner options! Had the lamb wellington and garlic shrimp salad. It was my first dinner experience at J.J. and the service was moderate but food was above expectations.

JJ Café is like Duck Butt’s lesser-known cousin but don’t let that stop you from going. My friends and I frequent this place at least every other week since it possesses a very chill and friendly atmosphere. And with Korean bartenders and wait staff, you can bet that an abundance of Asian-ness is included too. There’s about five karaōke rooms, which are usually occupied/reserved on the weekends, but the best part is that you only pay $ 1 per song instead of paying per hour(like other karaōke places.) This is perfect for my friends and I who are indecisive and take 10 minutes debating whether to belt out a Whitney Houston classic or embrace our inner boy band with an N’Sync song. Food is available to order from their menu, but keep in mind that prices are steeper than at traditional restaurants. For example, a plate of kalbi or chicken katsu will run about $ 15 – 20(with no rice included, unfortunately!) But if you’re like me and come here to mainly drink myself to oblivion, then you’ll enjoy their selection of alcohol. Regular bottles of soju run about $ 10, with specialty sojus such as yogurt and lemon running about $ 20 per bottle. Soju is a devil of a sneaky drink, where you’ll find yourself perfectly sober one minute then completely floored the next. So after having a couple drinks, you’ll start freely ordering more soju from the friendly Korean waiter like no tomorrow, so be careful not to overdo it! The staff here is really friendly and they start to remember you once you start coming regularly. Make this one of your regular weekend spots — you won’t regret it.

One of our«GO-TO» spot for Soju Whenever Duck Butt gets to crowded, me and my friends always end up here for their yogurt soju. The amount of soju is the same as Duck Butt and Geisha(without the young hostesses) and each bottle of soju is $ 20 without tax! They are located right across Walmart, right by Sikdorak with parking on the street and the front. Unlike many Korean bars, this bar has probably got to be one of the cleanest. The chairs are comfortable, the place is nice and dark, the waiter is very patient and nice. And the complimentary chips and popcorn they give is great! Their last call for drinks is also a little before 2 which is great because most bars nowadays do last call 45 minutes to an hour before closing.

I wasn’t a fan of soju until now. Their yogurt soju is delish, probably because it tasted like skittles. Taste the rainbow. Other than that, the food was weak. Kalbi had no flavor at all and the pancake stuff was okay. I liked the karaōke room though. It was pretty clean. $ 1 per song doesn’t seem too pricey. I was already buzzin by the time we started singing but I think the song list was good. The server was fun. Nice, friendly, and even sang a song with us. I would recommend this place as long as you’re not planning to eat here.

Great place to just relax and have a drink or two! I like to come here after work and just unwind with a few of my friends while having a cold ones! This place is great because of the outstanding customer service and $ 3 budweisers. The soju is the same everywhere and the food is pretty good too!

Do you like karaōke? Do you like Soju?!? Then this place is perfect for YOU! I like this Korean karaōke spot compared to others because it’s a lot cleaner looking and much more affordable(I feel). Sometimes it’s hard to get a drink but eventually you will get one! And you will get drunk especially if Korean kim is working! She was great! :). Oh and p. s. Kimchee pancake was delicious!

Korean style karaōke bar with the friendliest staff! I had reserved a room for a joint-birthday celebration. The room was chic with gold plush seats, cute pillows, and purple walls. Really nice. Songs are $ 1 each and no charge for the room. The song list is great for the Kpop and Jpop fans, and the amount of English songs are just enough to get by. Believe me. We spent 4 hours singing karaōke last night. The bar is clean and well decorated. The bartenders don’t seem to know a wide variety of drinks but they are hella friendly and great to talk to. The yogurt soju was well balanced, and they make their Hello Kitties out of Calpico. But be wary: Those things are hella strong. Really nice, chill, and clean! And they remember your faces. That’s definitely a plus.

Great place for some karaōke. It’s a dollar per song, and the selection of songs is really great. They have all kinds of languages. I believe they specialize in current Korean songs, but they have a lot of American, Japanese, and other language music. :) The ambiance is nice. The rooms are nicely furnished with pillows. The seats are comfy, and they give free platters of snacks and water. The food and drinks are reasonably priced for a karaōke place, and everything tastes pretty good. The bathrooms are kind of broken down and nasty, but it’s not a huuge deal. The rest of the place is awesome. The workers are all very nice and helpful. And I really like the way they dress and look. The guy in glasses who often accommodates us does not speak the best English, but he is very nice and helpful nonetheless.

It’s a Korean karaōke bar… what more is there to say lol It’s clean, decorated and furnished well and is good to just chill with friends and have a drink and catch up on things, or you can rent out a room and sing your heart out on the karaōke machines the prices are mediocre, and I pretty much know some of the staff members so I can’t really say how they are from a customers point of view but check it out if you’re asian, and want a good chill night to start off with

Small place in samsung plaza. The bar itself is really clean and nice. There is serveral karaōke rooms that you can go into and sing. The food is a little expensive but pretty good. I usally get the bacon wrapped mushrooms. The price of beers is pretty good and liqour gets a little expensive here. The staff is friendly and its a good bar to go to when you want to avoid the weekend crowds.

I really like this place. The staff is very friendly and its a very chill place. Not too loud and crazy. For those who like to sing, there are a bunch of karaōke rooms available. Food is good and reasonably priced. The bartenders are very nice and not bad to look at, as well. Great place to have a laid back night and a few drinks.

This place is in the samsung plaza right where tsunamis used to be. They redid the it by adding some walls, changing the color, decorating, and even added some karaōke rooms so it looks a bit different. First thing you’re going to think when you walk in is… is this a buy me drinky bar? Actually no, it’s a korean bar but it’s pretty legit. They even carded me once… Since it’s renovated it’s nice and clean inside, they don’t play the music too loud so you can actually have a nice conversation. I’ve only come here after eating so I didn’t try any of the food yet. It’s definitely a great place to chill and have a drink.

Why are there so many places that begin with JJ!!! Enter in «JJ» and you get JJ Dolans, JJ Diner, and now JJ Café?! What does it all mean?! Is it a secret society of awesomeness!!! Mind you, they’re all 4+ star places as of now. In anycase, I came upon this place for a friend’s birthday party. Like mentioned before it’s in the old spot as Tsunami’s(Samsung plaza). A lot of the original décor was maintained, from the cool blue glow on the roof, to the bar counter on your immediate right as you walk in. There are also notable changes, private(karaōke) rooms, new comfy chic furniture and carpet, and small intimate booths. This isn’t a buy-me-drinky bar, but some of the girls that work here look like they could pass as such. There’s an abundance of beautiful Korean girls serving drinks, cleaning, and waitressing. My favorite was the«mamasan.» She’s considerably young looking for a «mamasan,» and she’s very easily approachable. She made my friend down 6 glasses of soju in a row for his birthday, all the while standing over him with a dominatrix look in her eyes. I loved it! The food here is OK. my friend and I hadn’t eaten anything before coming to the party, we got the kalbi and kim chee fried rice. It seems as of lately that bars have really been raising up the ante when it comes to food, think Remedy! And because of that, I tend to have a high standard when it comes to bar food. It had all the aspects of great food; nicely presented, great smell, and appetizing(the kalbi even came sizzling in ala Side Street Inn style on a hot plate). But the taste was just… anti-climatic. In terms of a chill place(not overcrowded and loud) to drink with a small group of friend, JJ’s is a sure bet. Enjoy Korean girls serving you? Even better!

Nice night spot in the space formerly occpied by Tsunami nightclub. The place is very contemporary Korean. In fact, this spot is a competitor to the very Korean 777 Karaōke bar next to 24 Hour Fitness on Kapiolani. Food is very Korean comfort, with dukbokee(spicy ricecakes) and ojingo bokum(squid stirfry) as staples. But you really come to this place in hopes that you will be a part of a bar where everyone knows your name. It is homey, and fun. You definately partake in the comeraderie of the bar staff and the patrons. Doesnt’ compare to the amenities of 777(ie. no karaōke rooms), but it is cozier. Average tab is about $ 70 since you’re eating and drinking. Think of Side Street without the dartboards. Big plus if you speak Hanguk mal.
