I’m a black belt from Portland, Oregon, in the Impact Jiu Jitsu affiliation. I was visiting Oahu and asked around to see where I should train, and got Daynin’s contact number. Highlight of my trip! Kahala got a huge number of people to come in and we made a bit of a seminar-ish class out of it, and then afterwards Daynin unrolled the secret ninja scroll and showed me some new tools for me to take back and use on my Oregon friends. Super welcoming place and people, and most admirably, a coaching approach that makes all students aware of their own energies. I have never seen a more safe place to walk in and train; the students are well versed in matching their energy to their partner, vs only seeking to dominate or win. And as a result, they are a super technical and impressive bunch.

A family friendly atmosphere and knowledgeable Jiu-Jitsu instruction from a champion competitor. Daynin is particularly skilled when working with Keiki and teen aged students. She is really able to connect well with them while motivating and inspiring them to not only be champions on the the mats, but also champions in life. Both her youth and adult womens program are producing successful competitors on the local tournament scene. Daynin will get you in shape and increase your self confidence on and off the mats.

I’m not athletic by any means. I was looking for a place to take self defense classes. A friend of mine suggested Kahala Jiu Jitsu. When I walked in, there was a positive vibe and Daynin was super welcoming. I tried one class and was hooked! Daynin is an awesome coach, mentor, and role model to all of her students. I’m so grateful to be part of the Kahala Jiu Jitsu family!
