This is the 3rd walk/run that we have participated in this month alone. All three walk/runs I had to push an extra 50 plus pounds in a double stroller. The good thing about the Nite Run is it’s at night, when the Hawaiian trades are blowing and the sun is not melting me down. The Nite Run has had several different events held at different locations. My family and I participated in the Haliewa Night Run during the Christmas season and we had a lot of fun. So we were excited to participate again at a different location. We did see a few homeless people in tents but there were police scattered along the course. There were several people cheering us on and there were people dress in costumes. That included my wife and our kiddos. All of the race proceeds benefit JDRF. A charity that helps cure Type 1 Diabetes. The Nite Run is 5K. At the event there is a bunch of FREE stuff to do for the family. There is live entertainment. Free snacks such as popcorn and cotton candy. Free drinks fro coco cola. For the kids there was free face painting and balloon making. They also had different vendors selling food. Thank you Unilocal Hawaii and The Nite Run for a family fun event.

WOW! WOW! WOW! I am really #grateful #blessed to be a part of this event. Thank you so very much Unilocal Hawaii for the tickets to this event. Thank you Emi! Maka & Cathy! It was an honor! I truly love Unilocal!for the freebies & for everything else that Unilocal has to offer.( Unilocaling new business, getting the 411 on a business & meeting new friends, fun UYE& fun Unilocal events) Days prior to the nite run, I kept checking my email for confirmation, just to see if I got in & wow! I did. I was very happy! I submitted my info. right away via Google Docs. Confirming was fast & simple! On the day of the event, We got there close to 6pm, due to the parking situation & I was getting worried, since packet pick up was between 4 – 6. We found parking on Ala Moana Blvd & walked in to Kewalo Basin. I’m glad we were able to get our packets for the race. We just had to fill out an electronic waiver, before we got our packets. It was a very nice day, beautiful weather for this nite run! There were 3 food booths with food for purchase. &3 booths by the nite run. The booths were: drink/snacks, popcorn/cotton candy, & photo booth. We enjoyed the photo booth, popcorn, snacks, & drinks after our run. Once it got dark, this is when the race begins! At the beginning of the race, I realized, that YES! I need to start working out more! I couldn’t run but I walked my way thru the 5k. run. Me & my hubby walked it while my son went ahead & ran in the race. We both realized that we need to work out more.(LOL) We were way behind but we did it! We didn’t cheat & went all the way! Yay! The path for the nite run starts from Kewalo Basin, thru Kaka’ako all the way around and back. It is really easy to follow with the cones and signs. There are 3 police officers along the path making sure we are safe. We passed the homeless trail, not a great site, but it didn’t bother us. It was nice seeing & meeting Kim C. & her husband Paul, & family @ the run! I was in pain the nexts day, sprained a muscle, but over-all me, Hubby, & son, had a grand time! This was a very fun experience! Thank you so much Unilocal Hawaii! & Thank you Nite Run for raising $/proceed for JDRF!

What a heat cause to raise awareness and research for Type 1 Diabetes. This NoteRun is organized well but, sadly small in terms of participants. It gives me a chance to win my age bracket though(yea right). Also they have a costume contest but I only see one person in costume. May be next year, I may have a better chance to win.
