Hoping that headquarters looks at my post. I enjoy this location and to date everything has been good but take the fried scallops off the menu because it’s a total waste of money. The scallops, all five of them was 80% batter. The scallop meat shrank so much leaving the individual pieces almost hollow. I’ve had better frozen fried scallops so it’s out there just find the right vendor.

LOCATION: In kamehameha shopping center next to jeans warehouse and kam bowl. SETTING: they have a dine in area. no outside though. pretty big and enough seats to fit a good amount of people. pretty small place but good enough FOOD: 2 words… CHICKENKATSU! soooo good!!! they’re known for it! my go to plate lunch! always cooked how i like it and crispy on the outside & juicy on the inside. yum! oh! and their mini plates are literally the size of a regular plate! :))) they put soooo much in each plate to make you satisfied. they also have a healthy menu too if you’re on a diet :) so good! a combination of local food all in one place. SERVICE: i lovvvvve the service here! the workers are so nice :) they always see me come in so one of the coworkers was like«i know your order, chicken katsu?» hahaha he literally knows! PARKING: they have their own parking in front of their store.

Been here only once for breakfast. Not too sure if the worker taking our order was new, but we had to literally repeat our order 5x. When we finally got our food, it appears they still got our order wrong although we repeated it 5x and had the cashier repeat it back to us. Food was OK. But, I can get better breakfast food from another L&L closer to home.

Not too crowded… Place and seating is pretty much convenient. Air conditioning environment is amazing, thankfully. Service was alright and good. So I ordered the Chicken Katsu Curry Bowl menu price is $ 6.85 plus tax would be $ 0.32 a total of $ 7.17. I was wondering why it may seem expensive. But I just wanted to see if it was worth the price value. I was served well with a nice shiny bowl thinking to myself, must be small. But then I realized after opening the lid, it was a good size portion and rice was good enough. Served warm and smelt really Ono! Local presentation looked awesome! Ambience around is not bad. Tastes really great! The curry is what makes this bowl worth the price! The texture of the chicken on the inside and even on the out is perfect! I also added sriracha to taste more spicy flavor and it was a match made in heaven per say but wow! I enjoyed it. Although I wish tables were cleaned well even seats. But food wise I would give it a 5 star.

Nice interior, friendly service, bad spam musubi. please see my pic. The fried swai was fried perfectly and tasted great so that was good. Prices are kinda steep but hey, this is what it costs to live in paradise, right?

Today i went to L&L for lunch before work and i ordered 8pcs garlic shrimp which cost $ 10.45. Not my first garlic shrimps but this is the worse. Expected the shrimps are gonna be hot and succulent but its the other way around. Shrimps was rubbery and warm. Lose money. I think if there are miss fired, and if it can’t be saved, make it a crew meal or something or if not, just trash it. Its like robbering the costumers like that. Then i nicely told the cashier what i had but looked @me like she didn’t care at all. Even had the cook right next to her and not even a word to say. You don’t get paid and bring out trash food to costumers right? Right. L&L drive-inn are worldwide so make it worth visiting no matter where is located.

I was starving, but I was going to dinner in a few hours, so I stopped here for a quick snack. I’m not familiar with the center so I didn’t know where to go. I always like to observed customers in front of me when they order, why do they ask a million questions? Why do they change what they’re ordering? Why do they have to find the exact change at the bottom of their purse? Why didn’t they just eat at home? Luckily for me, they had the saimin burger! It was one of my missions to eat one of these when I was out here. I had read about them in the Honolulu Magazine. The burger was tender and juicy with a teriyaki sauce on it, served with lettuce and tomato, and between two deep fried saimin rounds. Those were a little greasy, but that burger sure tasted gooooood! I know it’s not the healthiest thing, but once a year would be alright.

L&L Hawaiian Barbecue in Kam Shopping Mall I like L&L. It is different enough from normal burger joints that you would find in say Chicago here and there. Yes– You can get a burger just like you might find anywhere in the country– but there is enough of the local flavor and flare to make that comfort food feeling deep and lasting. I appreciate the local specials when I see something interesting I get that, otherwise I do really like the seafood platter. I just can’t ever get the batter to stick as nicely on fish when I cook it at home– they just make it better at L&L. When I’m out, sometimes getting a chicken katsu is on my mind and it too is a great thing to get that — I just can’t seem to do as well as L&L. The place is small– it is a small mall to begin with and the restaurant is just small small. Not recommended for larger groups — except for take-out orders. Nice people though– pretty good service and good quality food that is consistent with other L&L’s.

One of the tiniest L&L’s I’ve seen but one of the cleanest though. There’s only several tables available to sit since it is a small dine inn place. I would usually take out and enjoy it at home since I live only 5 minutes away. Service has also been quick and friendly here. Generous on their plate lunch portions and prices are affordable. I always love the chicken katsu here, probably the best I’ve tried compared to other places. The mini always suffices my cravings even with a little left overs for later. I shared a regular chicken katsu and we still had left overs. Recommended for a quick place to get some take out!

We’ve gone here a few times and always get the Chicken Katsu. Sometimes we buy a whole tray full for the entire family. Service is ALWAYS great. They are such nice people. Would I recommend them to friends? Yes I do! Will I come back? Definitely!

Customer service was okay, not all great though. Love the food, but sucks no kimchi. Other than that food is delicious. Okay portion comparing price. Overall I rate a 3 star also because the Andy at the register gave me a weird look when I tried to rider cheese on my fries. Thanks

Kenny’s next door had a 20 minute wait so we came here instead. Great kahlua pork. My wife had a teriyaki chicken bowl with lots of veg. She loved it. Would come back to this branch again.

The Kam Shopping Center L&L restaurant is one of the best locations. Food is always freshly made, hot and fast. The staff is very friendly especially Vivian at the front who is very personable & remembers many people’s regular orders. I like the location with convenient parking and the restaurant is nice & clean. Kam Shopping Center has under gone a lot of renovations recently and is fully rented and well managed. I also appreciate the high number of security staff patrolling the parking lot & mall which reduces loitering & trouble makers.

A local long time establishment turned franchise. Fast food Hawaiian menu. Our first intro to «native» food.

This location never does fail me! I notice that a lot of L&L’s in Hawaii have their difference in portions but at this location, the portions here are HUGE! Especially their mini! It can last me 2 meals! Well, cause i’m a tiny girl! Great food & fast service definitely gets a 5 starts!

This L&L is pretty tiny, situated between Kenny’s and Jeans Warehouse, one can almost walk past it and miss it. But for a small location, it can get quite busy. The inside seems newly renovated and very clean. The items there are not too pricey, about the same price as most L&L locations. My friends and I usually share a regular Chicken Katsu and it’s perfect for us. The employees are always friendly and efficient. And don’t make rude faces when asking for a cup of water.

Unilocal 365 Challenge 2015 #33/365 Recently, Kamehemeha Shopping Center has been adding new restaurants to their grounds, and this L&L is one of them. This L&L location is in the smallest space that Kam Shopping Center had to offer, literally. It’s about the size of a hallway lol. When I walked in, like I said, it’s tiny. There are only about 6 tables, but most people get take-out anyways. It was about 11:30, so I figured it would be busy, but surprisingly, it wasn’t. Usually when I go to L&L I order Chicken Katsu, but I noticed that they had Garlic Chicken on their menu, so I figured I would try it out. The wait for my food wasn’t anything to complain about, and when I finally got my plate, I was surprised at how much chicken they gave me! Not that L&L skimps on the servings at any location, but it was a huge pile! I’m a big boy, so I ate it all, but I gotta say, it wasn’t the best garlic chicken I ever had. I prefer the garlic chicken a few doors down from Kam Drive-In(Sorry!). However, this was still a fairly pleasant visit for me, as the cashier was very nice and polite, and I got my food in a decent amount of time. Maybe I’ll stick to the Chicken Katsu next time. :P

This is location is in the Kam Shopping center located next to Kennys. This place is recently new so when you walk in you can tell immediately that every thing is clean and bright. Its a very small place so there are only about 6 – 8 tables. This place is open early so if your one of those that need breakfast this is the place to go rather than going to McDonald. I went here for breakfast. I ordered 2 eggs, bacon and rice for about $ 6. Not bad the price. Compare going to McDonald. You know you will be having real eggs and bacon. They were pretty quick getting my order out.

Wasn’t much of a fan of L&L due to the prices and it always left a funny taste in my mouth, but I figure I give this new location a try since it’s right in the shopping center I work at & the owner is one of our customers so I figure I show some support. I walk in, and it’s kind of small but pretty nice and REALLY clean. The workers there are really nice, and they welcome you upon entering which I personally like. Prices are just the same as any other L&L location, but their portion size is awesome! Their mini is pretty much a regular sized plate, so I could only imagine how much they give for a regular since the mini always satisfied my hunger. I haven’t tried much from their menu except their chicken katsu curry(which was yummy btw. Curry wasn’t salty like some other places) and their mochiko chicken which was also yummy. Since it’s located in a shopping center, there’s LOTS of parking, even right in front. Open early & they even close late, so that’s another plus for me! That adds one more place I can go buy food if I ever have a late night craving!

Keeping this short since this is the 158th location the island(hahaha). I’m kidding. New location at the Kamehameha Shopping Center so it’s extremely clean, the staff was very nice and helpful, and the food somehow tasted better. The fries were perfectly salted. The cheeseburger was thicker and charbroiled perfectly. The garlic shrimp and chicken katsu was crispy and not soggy. And the best part… I was done eating about an hour ago and no bad after taste like I normally would have after eating at an L&L. They open at 8am and serve breakfast til 11am only. Prices and menu are the same as the other locations so no difference here. There are only 6 tables to dine in so you may want to avoid peak lunch or dinner time. We came in at 230pm on a Friday and it was perfect! No bathroom at this location but neither are there at the other locations. You can go to McDonald’s or Starbucks nearby. But you didn’t hear that from me. Whatever this location is doing, I hope they continue because it’s definitely better than the other L&L’s I’ve been to. Good job new L & L Kamemameha Shopping Center! Way to represent Kalihi! Yah baby! Ahaha!
