When I first started seeing Dr Laurie Lee, I could tell she doubted my condition, but still helped me with treatment until I could see a neurologist, which she recommended and sent me to. About a month ago, I figured out I was having an allergic reaction to my medication, and wanted to see a different doctor because I moved far from my other one and felt my condition needed a different treatment. For over a month I have been battling for treatment, and I have missed a lot of work. I keep telling Dr Lee that I am missing work and going to lose my home and need treatment, yet I don’t get my calls returned and I am left to be in pain and in bed, calling and trying to reach her, only to be ignored and given no medication for my pain what-so-ever. I told her Gabapentin was making my throat close, making me pass out, and making me sleepy and sick and not be able to breathe, and that it was an allergic reaction to the medication, and that I need something else. She also asked me why I am seeing a neurologist when I should be seeing a rheumatologist. I told her because she recommended me to the neurologist! So she practically caught herself mistreating my condition for almost a full year! I feel like she does not care that I am in pain and that it is ruining my Life. Her receptionists either never give her my messages or she is ignoring me. The people on the phone never seem informed at all or have any clue what I am talking about, despite me calling over and over. I also have swollen glands that I have talked to her about for almost a year now, and whatever is causing my Swollen glands has never been treated either. If you want to feel like your doctor cares nothing about you or what is effecting your every day life in a negative way, this is the dr for you. But nobody wants that right? Nobody wants to feel like they are suffering and the people that SHOULD care the most, couldn’t care less. We feel like that enough in life, why from your own doctor, who gets paid good money to care?

I’ve debated for a year about writing this review. I finally decided I owe it to Unilocalers. Dr. Lee is quite nice. But her office staff is HORRIFIC. The receptionist gave me the typical HIPPA form to sign, saying I had been advised of their privacy policy. I pointed out that there wasn’t a copy of their privacy policy attached, so could I see one so I could sign the form saying I had seen one. I was told that«this is all there was and I must sign.» I said I can’t sign something saying that I received a form that I hadn’t received. The lady was nice, but looked so confused. She just kept saying«you must sign.» I tried pointing to the form, pointing out where it said I had received the privacy policy. She just looked more and more confused and kept saying: you must sign. I asked to see the doctor and she took the unsigned for away. I mentioned it to Dr. Lee. I stood there as she tried to explain to her receptionist that there should be another form(the privacy policy) that went with the HIPPA form, but she couldn’t get the concept across any more than I could. Odd. But the deal breaker for me was Thelma, the person who does billing. She is unbelievably incompetent. It took over a year for her to correct the insurance billing. I set up two three-way conference calls with her, me, and my insurance company. At one point, she told me as a patient it was my job to come down and code the insurance filling forms. She called me names. She said my insurance didn’t exist. That I was trying to steal from Dy. Lee and I was a thief. She left messages on my home phone that upset my family. I got notice after notice marked LATE. My insurance company told me I wasn’t responsible to pay for the charges because they were ones that could not be charged to me based on the agreement between the doctor and the insurance company. I called Dr. Lee and she said she would take care of it. The bills stopped for two months but then started up again. Like I said, over a year before it was finally settled. It shouldn’t be that hard. Finally it got coded right. Don’t know how or why, but happy it is over.
