My favorite flower shop! They are always helpful and have beautiful leis for a reasonable price. Just got a beautiful pikake and pakalana for my aunty’s birthday

I’ve been coming to Lita’s for YEARS! I went to Lita’s for the leis at my wedding and I continue to go here for my incoming visitors or special events.

I’ve been coming to this exact same lei shop for years now, ordered all my lei’s since my high school proms. Just recently, I placed an order for about 30+ lei ranging from a maile, christina orchid, crowns, and tuberose/orchids for a funeral and it turned out perfect. They had my entire order ready for pick up at the time I needed it by. If you’re in downtown and need a quick lei or need to place an order, this is the lei shop for you. Although parking is a bit tight, you can just park along the curb if you’re just going in for a quick purchase.

There are several lei shops in a row on S. King Street in Chinatown. I always end up at Lita’s. They have the best prices and a nice variety. The ladies are always helpful. They tie a nice ribbon with fern on your lei in your choice of color. Parking can be a challenge but I usually manage to park right in front and run in. If not, Maunakea Street usually has more metered stalls.

I usually get my fresh leis from the airport but I was pressed for time so I first tried out Longs Drugs at Pali. To my frustration and disappointment with their overpriced and old leis — I decided to try Chinatown. I went to three different lei stands which were all next to one another before ending up at Lita’s. They were the most helpful and patient workers out of the total lei stores. Their service is great in that even though I asked the lady about 3 times for the price of the same lei, she was very happy to help me out. I love that you are also given a choice as to what color ribbon to add to the lei and they ask if you would like all the leis bag together or separate. Prices are decent and they have street parking right in front!

My absolute FAVORITE lei shop in Honolulu, HI. Located in downtown Chinatown, Lita’s leis offers a huge assortment of leis. Cheap ones — plumeria, tuber rose, ti leaf, carnation. Medium priced ones — rose tuberose, kukui nut, orchid, octopus berry, sea grapes, etc. Expensive ones — pikake, puakinikini, kukunaokala, Maile leaf, Kikania, Ola’a beauty, etc. The owners are super friendly(and are willing to negotiate if you buy several leis). The leis are fresh and there is a good turnover in inventory. If you don’t see the lei you are looking for in the cases, ask the ladies. They sometimes have back stock or can make a fresh lei for you!

Lita’s is pretty much the only place I go to for lei! I live across the street so the commute is ideal– easy to grab a lei for events, birthdays, etc. But if you’re driving, there are a decent amount of metered stalls on Smith and Maunakea. The service is always spot on and you get great quality lei for a good price. The variety ranges from the basic, traditional to exotic, unique lei. The only bummer is if you go early in the morning, they don’t have puakenikeni lei yet. So if that’s what you want, I’d pick it up the afternoon or evening before. The cherry on top is when one of the gals unexpectedly gives you a bag of loose ginger and tuberose. Lovely smell for your car, living room, the airplane bathrooms. lol.

The leis here are beautiful but the price i paid for the bouquets didnt seem worth it. At the time i went to Chinatown alot of the shops were out of the bougquets i did want or sold out or just had Carnations, so in this case it was supply and demand. I normally go to Maunakea since they have a good arrangement and the ladies are very friendly, but the lady at this shop was too busy talking to her co-workers, couldnt tell me a price(seemed like she was guessing) and a peeve of mines is when things arent labeled with a price. So $ 27 for 2 bunches of flowers i could have picked at my parents house in Waimanalo. Of course the people the flowers were for was worth it, but i would pass this store next time.

I work downtown, so Chinatown lei shops are within a quick walk — parking would certainly be tricky, but there are plenty of metered spaces nearby. Anyhow, this week I had a budget of $ 10 per lei. I’m not sure if it was because I went late in the afternoon, but I wasn’t particularly impressed with the choices available. I did get a lovely green orchid lei, which the staff tied up and added a bow to, but I have seen nicer product in that price range elsewhere. They had tuberose lei, too, which have great fragrance, but they just look sort of plain. That said, their $ 25-$ 35 lei were STUNNING. They had a beautiful green/purple spiral lei that I would go back to buy for a special occasion. But if you’re more $$-conscious, you may not find what you’re looking for.

Lita’s Leis has been my «go-to» place for leis and tropcials. The staffing has been there forever too! Her quality and reasonable pricing for leis are a couple reasons to pick Lita’s of the many lei concessions in the Chinatown vicinity. I recently learned you can order tropical arrangements for shipment to the continental US. I sent a box of tropicals to a friend in Cali who called me upon receipt of the box raving about the abundance, fresh condition, beauty, etc of the flowers. And the cost? she charges the exact fed ex fee; not a penny more, There is a nominal charge for the box and no charge for the inspection. One not so good thing but I’ve overlooked this point and it doesn’t count for much to this review because Lita’s is special but the not so good point? ISTHEPARKING!!! None! Unless you’re lucky. But if you call ahead, give her a cc# for the order, they will run your order out to your car! Like a drive through… Oh! She gives you a few tuberoses to leave in your car or pin to your hair when you leave. Now how’s that for service?

Dear Lita, For the past couple of years I’ve used your little shop to purchase lei for a large special event and you haven’t let me down yet! Your lei are fresh, pretty, and reasonably priced. Your customer service is friendly and very helpful, in fact, you agreed to let me pick up outside of your normal business hours. In short, you come out smelling like a(tube)rose. Hana hou! May Leis were $ 4 to $ 5 and they look sooooooooo pretty. They do put leis in the pretty bags. They even do drive through delivery. I purchase many flower leis yesterday for Dad’s celemony. They were sooo pretty and beautiful, scattered with Dad’s ash.

I’ve gone to Lita’s shop several times now for excellent quality flowers and leis — and at much better prices than the lei stands out at the airport. All the ladies in the shop are so friendly and their handiwork is BEAUTIFUL… you can buy bags of loose flowers too for decorating tables at events — all you have to do is ask! And if you need to place an order in advance for pickup, it’s no problem at all… we did this with wedding flowers, including an exquisite pikake hair piece for the bride! We were so pleased with the results! This is now my go-to place whenever I have to buy leis for guests visiting from the mainland or for the events I’m planning! Go check them out!

In search of a birthday lei for a dear friend, we headed to Lita’s. I found an outrageously beautiful double ginger lei that was 3 inches thick for a great price. Lita’s also had some old school favorites in the refrigerated case. Mokihana berries, tuberrose and ilima, crown flower, rose-petal wrapped ginger, maile(not locally sourced), cigar flower and many more. We stopped by on a Wednesday and the case was full. The wonderful ladies at the shop were so nice and even gave us a handful of tuberrose just because. Please buy your leis here so they STAY open. Fantastic!
