Awesome food! Seriously one of the most underrated spots in Honolulu. Glad to be able to patronize this hidden gem. Great quality at better prices. Love the poke bowls, with sushi rice. Not many places in town are doing that now. Highly recommend this over the over hyped Ahi Veg across the street.

If you like your spicy ahi with less spicy and more mayo then this is the place for you. Just about the worst poke bowl I’ve ever had.

Best poki bowls ever. We tried the spicy ahi, ahi shoyi, and spicy crab and ahi– everything was incredible. Plus– the proprietor was friendly, helpful and generous with her servings. I’d come back here everyday if I could.

I didn’t enjoy my #SpicyAhi but I like the sushi rice. The spicy ahi was to much of the mayo. I know because I make spicy ahi myself. It’s good that it’s not that spicy but mayonnaise was too much. You should lessen the amount to the mayo on your sauce.

Biggest poke bowls that I’ve seen for the same price I’ve paid at other poke places that serves poke bowls. There’s a friendly staff and the prices are reasonable.

We come here occasionally when were craving for poke bowls. First off, the ladies there are ALWAYS friendly. They talk to you as if you’re good friends of theirs. Very kind people. They ALWAYS give out samples of the yummy samurai frostys! Never was there a day we went that they didn’t give us a sample. Secondly, the portions + price is UNBEATABLE! You pay the same for a poke bowl at times or foodland but get double the amount! The oyster poke is the best! PLUS you get to choose what kind of rice you’d like and they give you cucumber and taegu on top of your bowl. I can’t even finish half of it because it’s that big! For the price you’re paying, I don’t mind heading there whenever I’m craving for a poke bowl. Overall, I always have a great experience when I come here and I will come here again and again!

I was craving for a poke bowl and like a lightbulb my brain lit up – Local Cravings! I’ve been here many times and each time I’m always greeted and serviced so nicely. Such a warm, ohana feeling every visit. This place has it all: AWESOME poke, Freals, frozen yogurt, different specials each day, and I think they even sell Kendamas. I usually get the one choice poke bowl which is around $ 7. Comes with your choice of white, sushi, or brown rice. I always get sushi rice… which also comes with furikake seasoning. Also on top of your choice of poke comes kimchi cucumber and taegu(which is ‘seasoned codfish’ — I had to google it). lol! Just my kind of lunch, especially when I’m starving! I’ve tried the spicy ahi, spicy crab and ahi, and spicy crab and salmon. The last time I had the spicy crab and salmon bowl though, I found that it lacked the salmon. Even without it, though, it was still good so I didn’t mind. I definitely recommend this as a quick grab-and-go lunch place. I doubt you’ll be disappointed, especially with the great customer service. So stop by soon… you’ll probably be force fed some frozen yogurt samples. I was… but, of course I didn’t mind =)

I absolutely love this place. Uncle Jimbo is the man. Great family vibe with a clean and simple layout. They know I love the poke! This is the best spicy ahi poke on the island without a doubt. This is seriously a sweet hidden little gem. I especially love the sushi rice with the spicy ahi and I substitute the quinoa salad for the kimchee. Also as an added treat they put some taegu in with some nori. I highly highly reccomend this place. Best poke on the island!

I’ve been meaning to try this place after reading a review on Nonstop Honolulu’s top 5 places for poke. With my expectations set fairly high I was slightly disappointed. The day that I went they had spicy ahi, spicy ahi and crab, shoyu poke, and ahi limu. All preparations used fresh ahi which is always a plus in my book. Poke bowls start at $ 6.99 for one choice and a little over $ 10 for two choices. You can also choose between white rice or sushi rice. I decided to get the spicy ahi with sushi rice. Although I really appreciated all the accompaniments that came with the bowl(taegu, kim chee cumcumbers, and nori) it’s all about the poke. Despite utilizing fresh fish it was disappointing because all I could taste was mayonnaise. To be fair I personally am not a big fan of mayonnaise when it’s the primary flavor profile of a dish. I prefer my spicy ahi to be lightly coated and less heavy handed with the mayo so that I can actually taste the fish. Overall while it certainly wasn’t bad it wasn’t great either. It lacked that crack additive quality that Tanioka’s poke has over me. The prices are quite reasonable when you take into account that they use fresh fish for their poke. Next time I go I’ll order something that doesn’t have mayo in it.

So I came to find out about Local Cravings one very late night watching OC16. NOTHINGLOOKEDMORESATISFYING at 2:30am! So the next day, I decided to head down to China Town Market place to get my fix! Sure enough, I was greeted by the friendly local staff, and bought a Hawaiian plate which included lomi salmon, cucumber kim chee, and lau lau. THELAULAU was so good! i’m pretty sure it was homeade! WINNAZ! I also bought a quarter pound of spicy ahi. SUPERFRESH! In total, everything came down to around $ 15. Not bad. I’ll be sure to stop by here again if im in the area!
