It is challenging to rate a boat ramp, but for those of you who have a boat that is not lucky enough to have it’s own cozy slip it’s important to know where you can go. Maunalua boat ramp is the Hawaii Kai boat ramp. There are two ramps, one big one(wide) and one small one(narrow)…both are relatively deep, but the big one gives you wiggle room. There is some times a wait to launch, which is fair, given that there is no usage fee for the boats. Parking is free and seems to be pretty safe. There are often families picnicing by the small strip of beach near the ramp, usually with some jetskis. So there are small kids running around sometimes. You should have your trailer registered and your boat registered to launch from here and there are often people hanging around to check you for the necessary Coast Guard safety items(whistle, fire extinguisher, life jackets, flares… etc…and none should be expired) Safety First! My hubby and I agree that there is nothing like being out on or in the ocean on a beautiful day… so maybe we will see you there! Happy Boating!
