We came to Mr Mandoo to order two trays of mandoo’s for a party that we were attending. Preordered, First tray was your standard mandoo and the second one spicy. I wouldn’t say that it was the best mandoo that I have eaten, but it was good to bring something different. *But Sadly* «I DOMANDOO» «YOUDOMANDOO» «BUTMR. MANDOODOESN’T ANYMORE!!» At least they won’t be in a week! *BUSINESSISCLOSINGTHEIRDOORS*

Mr huge scoop should be more like it! The starch portions are pretty big, fills you up must cheaper. The meat is also very generous and decent. BBQ chicken is moist and flavorful. Steak is decent, about par with blazn steaks. Will come here again starving!

Wait, so let me get this straight… Mr. Mandoo DOESN’T sell mandoo anymore? *insert sad emoticon* I loved Mr. Mandoo when they first opened up, I thought the mandoo/manapua idea was genius and oh, so delicious! But over time, Mr. Mandoo has lost its sense of identity. So much so that they no longer even make the dish they were most famous for: mandoo. They still make the miniature, normal mandoo(steamed or fried to your liking) but it just isn’t the same. And the mixed plate selection? I’m not going to fib, the prices for the portions are downright great. But after tasting one of their mixed plates, I remembered exactly why I dislike mixed plates so much. The rice was dehydrated to the point of extinction, the mandoo was burnt, the meat was rich and greasy, and the greens were haphazardly thrown all over like withered confetti. Mr. Mandoo should consider changing its name to Mr. Mixed Plate(or is that name already taken?).

Heck to the yeah! LOL, but this place is pretty unique. Right in the smack, down, middle of Kalihiers and next to the housing, you can say its pretty unique. I’ve passed this place many time and I was a skeptic. I was totally wrong. Pro’s –Big portion –Price is right –Parking is available –Food is awesome(Fried Saimin) –Friendly service –CLEAN(LOL) Con’s –NOTHING

What the what?! Breakfast for $ 3??? Forget Zippys! I’m coming here for breakfast from now on! You would think that for $ 3, they would give you your rice, eggs and choice of meat in one of those small styrofoam containers. NOPE. They give it to you in a BIGONE! I was looking at the huge plate lunch menu while I was waiting for my breakfast and was pleasantly surprised to see a lot of different combination options for very reasonable prices.

I must have gone in on a busy day. I got the meat jun plate with toss salad after sitting for 15 minutes. Was okay, nothing to wow about. They did give a really generous portion. I would rather have a korean place that gives the veggie side dishes instead of salad. Some places do get for the same price… Korean food doesn’t taste the same without the ono vegetable side dishes. you know what I’m talking about, Kim Chee, Cucumber, Tegu, sprouts, water crest, or those crazy mayo potatoes. mmmmm

I think this place is confused. :/ When I first came here when the place opened, the only thing they sold was mandoo, which isn’t really mandoo, but these big delicious manapua buns filled with stuff like kalbi, pork, vegetables, shrimp, and kimchee. Their differences could be distinguished by the shape and topping of the bun. However, it seems as if this place has been sucked into the $ 6 steak plate hype. I mean, it’s called Mr. Mandoo, not Blazin’ Steaks. It’s a real shame because their ‘mandoo’ is really good. Last time I was there they were out of the kimchee one and the vegetable one. They even got rid of the shrimp one, which used to be my favorite. They should really stick to their specialty and stop losing focus. Bring back the mandoo, Mr. Mandoo!

Their homemade frozen mandoo is a value. You can steam or fry it at home. They have big, fat plate lunches for big, fat people. Some of the clientele are a bit rough around the edges. Some yelling and some vagrants but if you don’t mind, eat up. There’s a neighborhood store next door that you can peruse through while waiting for your order. They sell African fu-fu mix in case you’ve been on the look out for it. The kimchee mandoo, bleh. Way too garlicky,(yes, the taste of raw garlic is sickening) but their kalbi mandoo is sweet and yummy. All the rest of their food is OK and would go again if I were in the neighborhood. Otherwise, plate lunch at Palama is better.

Excellent, affordable menu. In the era of $ 6.00 steak places(Blazing Steaks, Times Supermarket, Bluewater Shrimp Truck) this place caught my eye. The menu it offers is a combination of a Blazing Steaks(steak, chicken, fish combos), regular plate lunches(katsu, bbq chicken, etc) and of course, the mandoo specials. My particular favorite items are the fried saimin, regular saimin and the special(steak, kalbi, mandoo) plate. Average plates run about $ 6 — $ 8 with the most expensive running about $ 12. Portions run from«adequate» to «hu-gan-gous»(speaking as a big guy who loves big portions) All in all, a GREAT deal for your dollar.

Still selling their mandoo specialty flavors that they had at their former Piikoi location. Now also plate lunches and breakfast. Prices are Kalihi affordable. Plate lunch taste and portions are yet to be determined.

I eat here at least once a week. Their breakfast is great at a great value. My sunny side up eggs are always cooked perfectly. Lunch is also great… I recommend the fried chicken! The owner is usually there and she is very friendly and welcoming. She already knows my voice when I call in phone orders!!!
