Nice hole in the wall place in China town’s market place. I use to eat there as a kid with my mother and little brother. Cheap prices for big portions and good food. Payed 6 dollars for two entrées and 2 scoops of rice. A lot cleaner from what I remembered. I recommend stopping there if you’re in the area. They don’t tax.

Yum! I will always remember this place because it is where my husband tried bangus for the first time. He loved it.

Today I’m in a Unilocaling mood and decided to go on my quest to find the best Filipino eatery that is affordable and unpretentious. My adventure began with Nestor Filipino Fast Food. I was recommended by fellow Unilocaler Andrea T. Nestor’s menu selection comprised of entrees. Additionally there were some few surprises like kiliwin and even fried Tilapia! Today’s choice was the Pork Gidantas. The entrée has generous portions of pork with sweet peas, with red AND green bell peppers. The sabow was not overwhelmed with a thick layer of fat. Nestor’s nailed it! I was so delighted that after completing my meal I asked who made this. Uncle came out from the kitchen and said that he cooked it and proceeded to ask why. I replied with«Thank You for making the best gisantas! It’ felt like eating at home!» The price point is comparable with the other Fiipino eateries in the food court! For anyone on a EATINGSAFARI, Nestor Filipino Fast Food is one of the places to go! BTW, Chicken Afritada, Pork Gisantas and Liver & Beef Igado look the same except for the main ingredient! TIP: For the food adventure type don’t be afraid to ask questions! Now onward to my next Food Safari!

Nestor comes pretty close to perfection when it comes to Filipino Food. I highly recommend his specialty Dinakdakan and Pork Adobo. Parking is a downside in Chinatown but a great meal deal if you eat here.

Being that today is a holiday and the kids don’t have school, I asked my sister to join me for lunch at the food court in Maunakea Marketplace as I had some free time after going to Kuan Yin Temple. As we arrived here, I told my sister of this place as I previously did a take-out order and because my plans changed I gave her the curry chicken plate from Nestor’s. She didn’t realize that it came from this place and because it was so good we got several plates from here. Unfortunately, as soon as we sat down everyone started to eat and I was not able to take any photos. With 2 hungry teenagers and 4 adults, we all scarfed down the food and left satisfied with full stomachs. Today I ordered something new — their chicken adobo but didn’t get a chance to eat any as it disappeared! I was told it was really good… sigh!!! My family appreciates good food and I trust their taste buds. I guess I have to come back here again to try the chicken adobo.
