WARNING: This entire area is government property and all laws apply here, but having said that and if in the area please be respectful because, yes, government eyes are watching you. Generally HPD& maintenance employees will look the other way if NOT in a big group and NOT acting like an ass! In a nutshell just don’t bring attention here and be respectful. The Nuuuanu Reservoir is very popular with locals in the area and outdoorsmen, open for PERMIT fishing in the months of May, August, and November. It is located up the Nuuuanu Pali, through a bamboo jungle. This«lake» holds various species of Catfish and Bass. Preservation is enforced at the Reservoir, appointments must be made half a year prior to the visiting date. This ensures a controlled amount of residents that fish out of the waters, preventing overfishing. ATTENTION: A fresh water game fishing license and an entry fishing card are required for the fishing! There is a two fish per license limit, and any catfish that is 16 inches or larger must be kept. This law is strongly enforced! License/Permit can be obtained directly from the state of Hawai’i. FINALWARNING: I’m sure some of you have seen those idiots jumping off the reservoir deck into the water on YouTube… Also note… Many have DIED here doing that! Why the warning signs and spikes are now on the gate! What’s worse than an idiot? A DEAD idiot! Don’t be a DEAD fool! Just be respectful here and clean up after yourself. If respect is given then we may continue to enjoy this spot for many generations. TRUST. LIVEALOHA… UnilocalREVIEW #232
