You will find no other pool company who knows more about your parts and equipment. These are just regular guys who are working hard to do the best that they can with temperamental and sometimes spoiled and nasty customers who expect to have their questions answered immediately without all the information in. I watched one of the owners juggle three people in the store with the phone to his ear answering questions while directing one of his techs about a customer’s pool problem. I have read the reviews and I think the people who wrote them were not fair or rational and by rational I mean they let the personal situations hard as they were play into their attitude while dealing with the company and while writing their reviews. I think that if they had communicated the issues properly to the staff there would have been help but if they went in arguing right away the staff has every right to be defensive. I also have worked in retail for a very long time and I know that when you are dealing with people with an attitude and a mean demeanor from the get go you are normally dealing with someone you will probably not want to serve again. So I think asking them not to call again is acceptable behavior from someone who really shouldn’t have to defend themselves from attack. I highly recommend this company if they can’t answer your problem or replace a part right now they will work on it until they find what you need. The manager of the store worked for a distributer for many years before he moved to this store and he may not have the part you need on hand but he will know where to find it!

Wish I could also give this establishment a zero star. Their phone etiquette is terrible! In this day and age, you have to be professional and courteous. Not the girl that was on the other end. Lost my business. I try to support local businesses, but with front line people like her, she will only hurt their bottom line. Purchased the things I needed online, no fuss, no attitude, cheaper prices, and I got FREE shipping. Good luck to OP&S. They may have been in business for a few years, but might not grow with this type of reputation!

Oh yeah I get to be the 1st one to write a review. I wish they had an option for zero stars! I am home helping to take care of my dad who had a major reconstruction surgery of his aorta because of an abdominal aortic aneurysm, which not to mention he also had about 3 to 4 aneurysms behind his large intestines which they also repaired. My dad bought a brand new Hayward pump from these guys and had them install it in the beginning of April 2012. He went into surgery at the beginning of May 2012. I live in Washington and got here right before he went in for surgery and have been taking care of him since which is very time consuming. The pool has been neglected since my dad’s surgery and probably before that because he was sick. Well I just recently this week was able to work on the pool. Went to check the pump and it was not working. So thinking that the pump is on warranty, I called these guys up to come and check it. They did. The guy only took less than 30 minutes to tell me that there was a loose wire from the pump to the timer box. Okay I thanked the gentleman for taking the time to come out and fix it. Well today my dad gets a bill for about $ 78 telling him he needs to pay for the services. I called these guys up and inquired about it. I wasn’t too happy with the response so I told the gentleman that I would talk to my dad. My dad was pretty livid. So he called these guys back to complain. He asked why he was being charged when he didn’t even touch the pump. The gentleman, whose name was Richard, told him I don’t know Mr. Yanagawa. I can’t explain why. My dad continued to argue and Richard argued back. Then my dad said this is ridiculous I spent $ 1800 for this pump and you want to charge me $ 78 for a loose wire that was not my fault. He told Richard that he would not pay for it and Richard proceed to tell him that he would take him to court for it. Oh my over $ 78!!! He is telling this to a long time customer who has been buying his chemicals from them for years and just recently purchased an $ 1800 pump who hasn’t even been by the pump because he had major surgery. I also asked Richard isn’t the pump under warranty. He said yes but only the pump not the connection. What the heck does that mean??? Didn’t you guys install it? We obviously didn’t, so it should still be under warranty. I mean why the heck would we mess with the wires from the pump to the timer box??? I could understand if there was some kind of major thing going on with the computer that operates the pump and we pressed some sort of button that messed it up, then I would pay for it. Richard claims that how can all this time the pump be running for 2 months and only now there is a problem. I told him it may not have been working since it was installed and my dad didn’t know it because he was sick. I didn’t tell him this but I wish I did that a wire can still be loosely connected and still run. It doesn’t take much as long as there is enough of a connection to send enough electrical current to power the pump. I mean common that is some basic common sense. Maybe it was so loose that some kind of bug or insect like a gecko which is pretty prevalent outside our house knocked it loose. The point is the wire should have not been loose in the first place. Very very poor customer service. Richard told my dad that he would void the invoice but never to call them again!!! Obviously they are willing to loose a very long time customer over $ 78 and now maybe two customers because of my dad’s friend who referred my dad to them. I have been working in retail and customer service for almost 15 years and I know that amount of money is worth nothing compared to keeping a loyal customer that will continue to shop at your establishment which will give you even more revenue. Bad form and bad form for treating this customer poorly who is ill. My recommendation is to not go to this establishment. I will also be writing to the better business bureau about this incident.
