In the 2 times that I’ve been here, I’ve never been disappointed. The food has always been great. Some things I liked more than others. For example, I usually like chicken karaage that’s some what crispy and salty, but theirs looked and tasted like mochiko chicken. but nonetheless, it was still yummy. The best part, is that they even have COMPLIMENTARY valet parking so you don’t have to worry about the hassles of street parking. It can get a little pricy, so expect to spend a little more than usual. Especially if you decide you want a combination of things. For the 3 of us, we spent around $ 100+ on tuna tartar, spicy ahi roll, spicy rainbow roll, chicken karaage, Pork chop combo, oyster shoots, and a beer tower. I haven’t gone during happy hour so I have yet to experience that. Overall, this is a great place to satisfy that sushi crave.

Pleasantly surprised at how nice/modern the décor was as I walked in. At the last minute, a group of us decided to eat & drink here on a Sunday afternoon. We walked in around 130pm and avoided the lunch rush. They were very accommodating to the fact that we wanted to watch the basketball finals on their TV by the bar. They also let us stay during their break between lunch and dinner(3 – 430), which was awesome! No food was served during this time, but at least we got to stay to watch the game and continue to enjoy the drinks. I would say that this place is more of a restaurant than a bar(which I thought it was). Lunch menu was reasonable. Two choice lunch combo was about $ 15-$ 17. I ordered the grilled salmon and fried chicken(like chicken karaage style) combo. Also ordered some sushi rolls for the table. It came with quite a lot of food, fresh, and nice presentation. Valet parking is in the front area off of Kapiolani Blvd for $ 5 at dinner time. Reservations for dinner time is highly recommended as the restaurant seems to get busy. We stayed for five hours! I guess it was obvious that we enjoyed our time here and will be coming back soon.

Maybe we had gone to Odori-ko at the wrong time but our experience here was a NIGHTMARE! We came here on a Friday night during happy hour after 10 pm… you would think it’s prime time and expect the best service since it’s probably their busiest time day/time of the week… well that wasn’t the case. 1. After sitting down, it took at least 10 minutes for one of the servers to take our drink orders. The manager himself who was jumping from table to table walked by our table several times without checking up on us. Heck it wasn’t even busy during the time we were there. 2. We waited another 20 minutes at the end of our meal to get our check, my wife actually had to stand up and ask for the check. I base my entire experience on the customer service and they just didn’t have it here. What made it worse is how the manager never checked up on us once when he checked every table out there in the restaurant. I still give them 2 stars over 1 star because the Tuna Tartare was pretty bomb along with the sushis. The potato wedges were weird because they were cut too big and it didn’t have much seasoning and they only served it with a side of ketchup lol. This wasn’t the only dish that didn’t have much taste, the chicken karaage didn’t have much taste. Overall, cheap beer tower $ 10 and sake $ 4 during happy hour which is a plus. What just ruined our experience is the horrible service. Not sure if I can give this place another chance, we’ll see.

Odori-ko has been on my radar for the longest time… and since I pass by this wonderful restaurant a few times every week when I go to the 24 Hour Fitness gym… I’ve often wondered about how the grindz was, and noticed a lot of times this place would be pretty busy too. Upon reading all my Unilocal buddies — Ariana M., Liza M., Brigitte S., bruddah Daniel C., & my classmate homie from back in da dayz bruddah Joe Ho… I knew I really had to check this place out. Odori-ko is located on Kapiolani Blvd., and it’s sandwiched between the Papa John’s Pizza take out, and the 24 Hour Fitness Gym. The restaurant itself is not overly large, but the décor of the place is pretty chic & modern looking. Parking options are pretty slim, but don’t worry folks… you do have options. You can valet your car, park in the parking structure for Hawaiian Brian’s &24 Hour Fitness, or do street parking. As for me, I was pretty lucky as I was able to get free parking else where, as I have a friend that owns one of the largest locally owned parking management companies on the island. Upon walking into the restaurant, I could see it was pretty packed that night, but lucky for us my friend made reservations in advance, so there was no wait time for us. As we got seated, we were greeted right away, water & menu’s were dropped off. Shortly the waitress took our drink, & food orders. We ordered the following grindages - 1. Fresh Nalo Green Salad 2, Mac Nut Tofu 3, Miso Butterfish 4. Palm Heart Tempura 5. Croquette 6. California Roll 7. Chicken Sliders 8. Spicy Tuna Roll 9. Kake Udon 10. Buttermochi Ice Cream The Grub — A few items really stood out for me… I thought the Chicken Sliders was cleverly made and all so delicious. The Chicken Slider was a complete sandwich! Why to I say this? Well, the slider not only had greens, but it also had a layer of potato salad loaded in the the slider. When I bit into it… I thought they had put a large portion of mayonnaise, but I was lucky to find out it was the potato salad. Now don’t get me wrong gang… for you folks that know me, I hate mayonnaise, but the mixture of the potato salad, greens, & the grilled chicken loaded in the slider was just the perfect sandwich! YUM!!! I also enjoyed the Miso Butterfish… all so soft, smooth, & buttery… I wanna eat that again with some rice! Nom! Nom! Nom! Mac Nut Tofu… I’m not a huge fan of tofu, but I liked this dish because the tofu actually had a macadamia nut taste to it. The tofu was on the firm side, good texture, & very tasty too. On the bad side… it was expensive, and they gave very little, but it was still worth it to try it at least once in a lifetime. And last of all… the Palm Heart Tempura. I have no idea what a Palm Heart is, so I had to Google it.(Thank goodness for Google), but anything fried is A-Okay in my book! ONO! Winnah’s!!! Overall great grindages… didn’t have anything I didn’t like over here. The Service — Great service here! The wait help kept coming back to check on us, and refill our drinks. When we placed an order for a certain food item… it came out pretty quickly. No complaints here, that’s for sure! There’s a lot to be said when you have a fabulous meal with awesome childhood friends! As I get older, I really cherish my friendships that go back from my middle school, high school, & college days. Good times with great friends!

As we planned a girls happy hour, someone threw out this place as an idea and we decided to give it a go. Happy hour is 4:30pm-6pm and with our work schedules we were cutting it close with a 5ish meet time and no reservations. I was the first to arrive and was lucky to be seated in a spacious booth right away even though they had plenty reservations on the books coming in. The staff were super cool about letting us order in bulk including preordering a few of our drinks to make sure they were HH prices. Between the 5 of us we ordered 90% of the menu, not even kidding. Spicy tuna rolls, garlic edamame, gyoza, chicken karaage, a loaded oyster shot, trio of beef sliders, salmon sashimi with ponzu jelly, tuna tartare, tofu, salt & pepper pork chops, etc. Like I said, we ordered everything. Including various beers, sakes & wines! We were completely those loud, inappropriate ladies at after work happy hour venting about men, work, life, men. It was fabulous and the staff here did a great job of checking in on us, keeping our glasses full, trying to trick us into more sake shots and not killing our vibe. We enjoyed all of the food, everything was tasty. The food came out quickly but not quick enough to rush you. The restaurants vibe is very chill and spacious so you kind of can’t help but relax in the big white booth and enjoy. Just when I thought had moved on to alcohol only, Maka reminded us that Kathy of Sweet Revenge makes desserts for them and we pretty much had to order one. The Peanut Butter Chocolate Crisp was brought to us on a platter and looked like magic. Even better, it tasted like it too! Between that glorious sweet treat, the on flow of beverages and the fabulous company, I couldn’t have asked for a better weekday evening. Odori-ko is great at accommodating your party, has an awesome happy hour and a very approachable menu. I definitely recommend checking this place out next time you need a new HH joint! Even our bill was less than I expected split amongst us. Only complaint? Parking seems stressful, I was glad I got dropped off. Definitely plan ahead.

Dammmm this place is legit! Their happy hour is damm awesome! And their service is great! I always wanted to check this place out and finally had the chance and it was definitely worth it. Came here with a coworker after a long day of work and we both needed some drinks. They have a beer tower on their happy hour menu and if you feel like drinking a couple drafts then this is worth it. Its about four beers. Made us feel great lol. Food: their happy hour food menu has a good amount of food on it. We ordered the tuna tartare, hot edemame, chicken kaarage, salmon sashimi, California roll, spicy tuna roll and the oyster shooters. It was all delicious! We were so full on food and beer, it was worth it. Their happy hour menu changes a bit but from what I tried, no complaints! I totally recommend checking out their happy hour and their regular menu looks pretty good too. If you love beer then order the beer tower!

We came here for my mom’s birthday and it was really nice! First parking. Parking is valet parking, enter right by the entrance looking at the treadmills at 24 hour fitness. It’s literally right next door to the bottom floor of 24 hour fitness kapiolani. But if valet parking is not your thing, then street parking would be the next option. The seat in which we sat, was a circular couch, nice and comfy. Our family each ordered the combination teishoku and my wife came by later after work and got a rainbow roll. The combination teishoku has a choice of salmon, teriyaki chicken, soft shell crab, dynamite casserole or karaage chicken. I got the salmon combination teishoku. It comes with the main entrée with miso soup, salad, bowl of rice, sashimi(salmon and ahi), assorted tempura and shrimp tempura, and edamame. It was really good! The service was on it. I had a headache so as soon as I got there I had chugged my water and next time I looked it was filled quickly. Also I was clumsy, since all the food come with a lot of dishes, I give props to the dish washer person, I dropped a chop stick on the floor. The lady said she got it, next second I looked up and the server guy had another set for me and napkins. Dang that was speedy service! And all the servers were very friendly! The place was nice, the seats to the sides where we sat all had the circle couches. The middle parts had regular high tables. Some had this nice wood tree shaped tables. There is a full bar inside. And the bathrooms, I have to say were really clean and that is always always a good thing! Overall really tasty and good price and value Japanese food! Definitely going to check this place out again! My sister told us bout this place and has been here many times already. Nice choice to take our mom here for a birthday dinner! I would say if you were driving you might miss it cuz it’s right next to 24 hour fitness and isn’t exactly that viewable while driving. I don’t wanna compare other restaurants in the same post but this restaurant is very similar vibe, to me, as Doraku. I can see a nice after work socialization gathering here to have that one drink with a nice meal here. Any ways, again, we will come back here again :).

My friend and I decided to come here for happy hour and of course, we had to take advantage of that! You can park at the 24-hour fitness garage or do valet right in front of the restaurant. Once we walked in, we were greeted by the host and the ambiance is so relaxing & comfortable to be chit-chatting with your friends. If you are 21 years and older, should order drinks since it is a bar. Everyone around us ordered drinks but sadly we weren’t 21, so we stuck with water. This is what we ordered: Tuna Tartare(5⁄5): I recommend people to order this!!! Spicy tuna on the bottom, guacamole with mac nuts on top and a small bowl of pita chips which had a lot! My friend and I liked this dish the best. Garlic Shrimp(4⁄5): If you enjoy garlic then you will love it! Shrimp was a little fried with garlic, topped with garlic chips and had bean sprouts on the bottom. Salmon sashimi with ponzu jelly(3⁄5): a bowl filled with onions on the bottom, salmon sashimi and ponzu jelly! It was an interesting taste because of the jelly but I could do without it! Spicy Tuna Roll(4⁄5): Just like all other places, it was just a regular roll and the spicy tuna was good! Service was really good! Our waitress always came by and checked on us. Thumbs up for that! I would definitely come back to this place and try their other things on the menu and probably when I turn 21, I will come back to try the drinks!

Odori-Ko is located on Kapiolani Blvd next to 24 Hour Fitness. You can valet your car there or park in the Hawaiian Brian’s and 24 Hour Fitness shared lot. Some people opt for street parking because it’s free after 6pm. The few times I came, it was during Happy Hour so I opted for valet. No street parking was available and looking for parking in the structure would have been difficult with everyone getting off and going to the gym. When you enter, you’ll notice the modern décor. There is a bar on the right with counter seating, tables in the middle of the restaurant and booths on the left. Behind their Odori-Ko glass divider is a small private area that can seat 6 – 8 people comfortably. They sometimes have live music play in front of the glass divider. The staff here is very friendly and helpful. They make great recommendations on food. Seems like everyone here works together as a team to give their customers the best experience as possible. All the food here is good and I haven’t had anything bad. They have a full bar where you can order your drink(s) of choice to compliment your meal. The server or bar tender can also help you choose a drink if you’re not sure what to get. Solid restaurant so check it out if you haven’t already!

I brought the boyfriend here for a date night, as we were looking for a good sushi restaurant with a contemporary atmosphere(and Doraku was all booked for reservations for the evening). A friend told me that her mother in law really like Odori-ko, but warned me beforehand that service was slow and the food took forever to come out. With this in mind, I made reservations for us and we parked in the 24 Hour Fitness structure and walked down to the restaurant, which is on the first floor. For parking, you can do free valet from Monday-Thursday, but I think it costs money on the weekends. Once we got parking situated, it didn’t take us too long to find the restaurant. Since we had a reservation, they called our name pretty quickly. Even though I steeled myself to wait a long time for our food to come out, service was unexpectedly speedy and it didn’t take them long to bring out our dishes. In addition, our server was really helpful in decision making and even the general manager stopped by our table to make sure we were doing okay. I’d definitely come back to try some of the other menu items. Here’s what we got: «Steamed Clams»: You get your choice of garlic buttered sauce or sake infused broth, so we went for the garlic buttered sauce. The boyfriend devoured these clams and savored every piece, but he gave me one to try. I hadn’t eaten clams in a broth like this before, so I wasn’t exactly sure how to handle it, but he just told me to slurp it up and gave me a spoonful of the broth to try as well. I did end up liking the taste, texture and consistency of the clams – the boyfriend pays attention to every single detail, down to the clam shell – and the broth was super flavorful as well. I was glad I tried one but let him polish off the bowl, since clams are one of his favorites when it comes to seafood. «Dynamite Casserole»: This was probably one of my favorites of all the things we ordered for dinner and the boyfriend chose this one. This featured an array of seafood baked in a creamy, spicy sauce. I asked our server if this dish was really spicy and she said it wasn’t, and I was relieved to discover that the spice level was right up my alley(mild). I didn’t know everything that was present in this casserole except for shrimp and scallops, but I really enjoyed the medley because of that creamy sauce. The presentation was also unique(it came in a shell bowl) and I would highly recommend this dish. «Miso-Marinated Butterfish»: I was actually going to order the«Dynamite Butterfish,» but our server recommended getting the miso version because we already had one dynamite dish and she said the miso-marinated butterfish was one of the eatery’s best sellers, anyway. I was glad that we did end up ordering the miso option because it was delicious. It featured a black cod fillet that was marinated in house miso sauce then broiled. It was served with bonito relish(didn’t quite know what that was, but it tasted amazing) and hajikami ginger. The butterfish was a petite size, but perfect for us to share because we already had ordered several items. It was tender, moist and flavorful, and I really enjoyed the taste of the miso. «Special Roll»: I was going to order the«Spicy Rainbow Roll,» which featured a spicy tuna roll topped with assorted sashimi, but once our server told us what the special roll of the night was, I changed my mind. I can’t actually remember everything that came in it, but all I remember was that it had salmon and spicy tuna and it was really colorful. This roll had about nine pieces so the boyfriend and I were easily able to share. I loved the fresh taste of the different fish, as well as the aesthetics of the roll itself since it was so colorful. «Peanut Butter & Chocolate Crisp»: I had seen a photo of this dessert in a recent article and immediately wanted to try it just because it contains my favorite dynamic duo — peanut butter and chocolate. This dessert includes crisp chocolate phyllo layers filled with peanut butter mousse and comes topped with whipped cream and dots of strawberry sauce. While I was glad I tried it, this dessert was interesting, to say the least. I don’t have phyllo very often, and I almost felt that the chocolate layers would have tasted better if another material was used … maybe a brownie or cake layer or something, because the creamy layers of peanut butter mousse were a HIT. I love it when the peanut butter flavors in a dessert are strong, so this didn’t disappoint on that front. I didn’t quite know how I felt about the chocolate phyllo, but this dessert satisfied my craving for something sweet after all the savory dinner items we demolished.

Got here just in time for the last few minutes of happy hour so we saved a few bucks! I was worried that the food quality wouldn’t be up to par since all the reviews mentioned happy hour. I would highly recommend reservations! We got there a little prior to 6 and he said we could have a table if we would be done by 7. The host was very nice, and apologetic about it. But we are fast eaters so it worked out great! The only negative when I asked for the happy hour menu he said it was over I showed him my phone that there was 8 minutes left and he let us order from it. Food was great! from the warm edamame to the delicious tofu. The only complaint was the spicy tuna roll wasn’t rolled very tightly so it was hard to eat with chopsticks since it was falling apart, and the vegi tempura was great except for the fried ball of vegis that had too much dough the single pieces were spot on. And the gyoza was delicious! So go here it is awesome food for a really great price in Hawaii! We walked here from our hotel but they have $ 5 valet parking also, although a nice walk to and from your hotel if you are reasonably close is nice to work off the calories!

I like everything about this restaurant except one thing, the parking! We were lucky enough to valet before it got full but it was $ 5. There is limited stalls and if you’re not one of those lucky people, you will have to find either street parking or park in the structure with 24 Hour Fitness. Parking in that garage is horrible, not to mention all the stairs. It’s ok if you’re in sneakers but not so much fun in heels. Once you get in the restaurant though, you will be impressed with their ambiance and customer service. From the host or hostess to your server and runners, everyone is friendly and on it with requests. The kitchen was also very quick preparing all the dishes we ordered. We came here during happy hour and ordered most of their happy hour menu along with some additional items. Everything was good and presentation was pretty. If you haven’t been here, they are worth checking out. They have great items on their menu and a nice selection to choose from during happy hour.

Happy hour! Happy hour! happy hour is da bomb… The ambiance is really nice, lighting is perfect as you walk in and the customer service is excellent! We met some friends for happy hour dinner and I think we ordered everything that was on the happy hour menu, call me fat and roll us out! All the dishes had their own unique taste and it wasn’t too salty it was just right… Parking is in the Hawaiian Brian’s/24 hr fitness building you can get your ticket validated. Walking up the stairs after you just endulged into their happy hour menu was not an easy task but, ahhhh we need the exercise after eating so much, wine bottles and a few sakes! It also doesn’t help when you see people working out and you feel sooo guilty because that’s should be us after stuffing our faces! Yikes!!! Lol good incentive to hit the gym tomorrow morning, NOT! Lol All the staff that was working in the restaurant were really on it! Water service always filling our glasses, checking up on us to see if the food was okay and if we were okay, giving us suggestions to try some of their favorite dishes… Unbelievable and the noise was not so loud in there like you could have a decent conversation without having to scream at each other«Hellllooo Hoooow Aree yoouuuu doing over there? Lol, it was like«Hello I can hear you at a regular monotone volume… Lol! My favorite were the sushi’s we ordered, the edamame, fried chicken, and their chocolate/peanut butter mouse was nice! I got my sushi fixing for awhile!!!

I went here recently for happy hour(4:30−6PM) on a weeknight. I made reservations just in case, but they weren’t busy on a Monday night at 5:30. Their space is beautifully sleek & modern with clean lines. We ordered drinks(Almond Dandy for me & Watermelon Grapefruit Sparkler for my bf). We ordered food from the happy hour menu to start. Happy hour items are a few dollars cheaper than the regular menu. We had: Salmon sashimi with ponzu jelly(4.5÷5) — served in a chilled bowl, the ponzu jelly adds the perfect amount of flavor. Spicy tuna tartare with crispy pita chips(3⁄5). This was ok. Shrimp cocktail(4⁄5) — large, fresh shrimp, nicely chilled served with cocktail sauce is classic & yummy. Fried stuffed Ahi & krab roll(4.5÷5) — crispy roll with ahi & crab topped with a slightly spicy sauce(maybe wasabi mayo?) this was my favorite happy hour item in addition to the salmon sashimi with ponzu jelly. We were curious about other menu items & ordered some non-happy hour items. We had: Sukui tofu(3.5÷5) — it’s house made & comes with a dashi for flavor, but was ok. Miso-marinated butterfish(5⁄5) — other than the large pin bones we had to maneuver around, this was the best dish we had. It was perfectly tender with the right amount of miso. I love dessert & was curious to try their offerings. I wanted to order their lilikoi panna cotta, but it was no longer available(boo hoo) so I settled on the vanilla panna cotta, which was ok but the texture wasn’t as smooth as other panna cottas I’ve had. Service was quick & friendly. Parking is valet for $ 5(which I chose since I needed the convenience) or in the 24HR fitness lot for $ 2.

I really liked it here! The inside of the restaurant is nice and spacious. Our table of 6 got seated behind the large sign in the back in a sort of private booth. We shared a pitcher of the peach shochu($ 15) and ordered from their happy hour menu. I liked the butterfish, gyoza, spicy tuna, garlic shrimp, and the wafu steak. Note: the musubis are HUGE! My favorite of the night was my second cocktail, the shiso mojito. It was soooo good! Our super funny and attentive server said they were redoing the drink menu and taking off the shiso mojito, but you can still put in a special request for it. The desserts were yummy as well. I liked the chocolate crisp and the peanut butter mousse which was different from your normal, heavy desserts. They also had a warm butter mochi served with ice cream. I’ve had better butter mochi, but we chose the mud pie ice cream and that was just winner. This is a great place for any occasion! Super fun to relax and enjoy some good food. You can either find street parking, park in the 24 hr fitness garage for $ 2 with validation(no elevator; walk down the stairs and through the gym and the restaurant is to your right), or valet for $ 5.

Odori-Ko has redeemed itself from my last visit to them in the old King’s Village spot in Waikiki. Back then, it received one of my only 1 star ratings for comically erroneous service and poor food quality at high prices. This time around, the food was pretty good, the prices were extremely reasonable and we had a great experience dining here! My kids especially loved it here and they were treated well. I was pretty surprised when I walked in a was greeted by a beautiful, modern, clean space. I loved the sofa-like large semi– Circle booths. Lunch specials are a steal with great options and large portions. The garlic shrimp was very tasty as was the waggu steak. I had a little taste of the butterfish and it was moist and flaky. The kids bento box contained so many goodies like japanese style potato wedges(like a thick natural cut fry), gyoza, arabiki sausage, and a large nori musubi, in addition to their main entrée! It also came with a drink and drink options included calipico yogurt drinks. My daughters were thrilled to order refreshing watermelon yogurt drink and a peach yogurt drink! On Sundays this is only $ 5! Adult box lunches(although they were served on plates) ranges from $ 8-$ 14 and the portions were quite large. Parking is a little confusing. If you park in the 24 Hour/Hawaiian Brian’s parking structure, there are no elevators and you must walk through 24 Hour fitness to get to the bottom floor. Parking was $ 2 with validation for our 2 hour lunch. I definitely want to return for happy hour and dinner as there were lots of other items on the regular menu that I would like to try. Overall, a MUCH better experience at Odori-Ko this time around! I’m so glad they have managed to turn things around!

Odori-ko has a great happy hour(4:30 to 6PM)! I recently came to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The ambiance is very nice – tasteful and modern. We were seated at table that had a round couch for seats. The one guy in the group commented that the décor and some of the furniture seem to tailor more to women. Well, I for one am not complaining =p We ordered two rolls from their regular menu and a number of items from the happy hour menu. Both of the rolls we ordered were delicious! The soft shell crab roll understandably had only 6 pieces but the big eye roll was larger with 8 pieces. We tried the following from the happy hour menu: salmon sashimi with ponzu jelly, garlic edamame, garlic shrimp, tofu salad, tuna tartare, and gyoza. With the exception of the tofu salad, everything was very tasty with my favorites being the salmon sashimi with ponzu jelly and the tuna tartare. For desserts, we ordered the warm butter mochi with ice cream and the peanut butter & chocolate crisp. Odori-ko also gave a complimentary lilikoi panna cotta to my friend for her birthday. The desserts are from Sweet Revenge. I particularly enjoyed the lilikoi panna cotta and the others loved the warm butter mochi with ice cream. The peanut butter & chocolate crisp was very strong on the peanut butter and needed something tart or fruity to balance the flavor profile. Service was on point. The food came out quickly and our waitress was efficient and pleasant. Overall, had a great time at Odori-ko and would go back!

Late post. My friends and I went here for my birthday lunch. When we arrived at 11am it wasn’t crowded at all, we pretty much had the whole place to ourselves. We were informed it was«café style» so we placed our order at the front, paid, then sat at a table while we waited for our food. We were also informed to help ourselves to the ice water and hot tea on the counter. I ordered the karaage chicken. Our food arrived in a take out plate. Their portions are huge. The plate came with a huge scoop of white rice, potato mac salad and crispy karaage chicken over sautéed bean sprouts and mushrooms. Everything was flavorful and delicious.

I missed happy hour my first time, but like that they have early and late night options. Clean, hip décor. The food is fusion, lots of options beyond sushi though such as ramen. Garage parking available at 24 hour fitness garage. The restaurant will validate so the price is $ 1 per hour for the first three hours.

Tonight is our first night coming to this place for Happy Hour. We weren’t sure where to park so we parked on the 3rd floor where you have to exit from 24 hour fitness to get to the Main Street… Then we realized parking is right in front of the restaurant. The place is very nice with live music playing. We ordered most items from the happy hour menu and it was all delicious and great price! My favorites are salmon with ponzu jelly and tuna tartar, the waiter called it «heaven on plate.» Service was great, waiters were all attentive. Definitely a great place to chill during weeknights and of course on the weekends. Highly recommended.

We had dinned at the old Orodi-ko in Waikiki before and liked it… But this new and upgraded Odori-ko is way better! The décor and atmosphere is more contemporary and appealed to local folks! The menu still has some of their traditional dishes… But with better addition of more contemporary dishes. They also donate sells of some of their signature dishes to 3 charities: Junior Achievement, Touch A Heart and YMCA. — Macademian nut tofu, $ 6.95 beautiful texture with strong macademian flavor, melted in your mouth… Our fav! This dish is also dedicated to YMCA! — ika sugata or cuttle fish with light salted, $ 10.95; perfectly cooked, tender, perfectly seasoned. It is not easy to cook squid! — wafu steak, $ 18.95. This dish is dedicated to Touch A Heart org. The steak was perfectly grilled, juicy and tender with wafu sauce over the top and served over sauté bean sprout, mushroom and onion with fried potatoes! Must try this dish… Plus it is for good cause! — garlic shrimp,$ 11.95, lightly coated with bread and deep fried… A cross over between Chinese salted pepper shrimp and north shore garlic shrimp. — Kalbi $ 15.95, perfectly grilled pork and beef, juicy and tender. — broiled chicken $ 10.50; we tried both teriyaki as well as yuzu style. We like the teriyaki style better as it is more flavorful and slightly spicy. — maguro poke, $ 10.95; the tuna fish is fresh, melted and perfectly seasoning. — Hamachi and Maguro sashimi: best cut and fresh… — We also got some tempura and softshell crab rolls which are good and traditional. Overall, it was a great dinning experience. We did not try the desert menu since we were so stuff… They also have a live music show which is fun place to hang out! We definitely will come back!

I must say, I’m a real fan of their ambiance. The new restaurant is sleek and pretty. The lighting is a bit odd, everyone has a pink/purple tinge, including the food because of the spot lighting bulb colors at the tables. hmm… As excited as I was by everything I saw when I walked in — nice, new clean and the menu sounded good, I was far from impressed by the food. First of all, any Japanese restaurant should have impeccable rice. #1! Unfortunately, my rice was not good. Mushy! Maybe they had an off night. Next, there’s no way you can mess up fried food… wrong. Tempura wasn’t very crispy at all, oily and lacking seasoning. The karaage chicken was just gross. Chewy and flavorless. One of the good things we had was the mac nut tofu — this dish was delicious! I would go back, just to eat this dish! There was a subtle sweet nutty flavor with the texture of soft creamy tofu — I was sad the whole thing wasn’t for just me! Overall, I think the things I was disappointed in could be improved, and I’m hoping it was just a bad night in the kitchen. The menu is inventive and the environment is great. I’d give them another chance.

Odoriko’s happy hour gets 5 stars! I love that they have both a regular HH from 4−6pm and a late night HH from 10-close. I have come here for the late night 2x and both times I have been happy with my experience. I cannot speak about their regular menu, so this review is solely for their HH. FOOD: All the late night HH food was delicious. As true Unilocalers, even though we had dinner previously, we had to sample the menu. We got the chicken karaage, tofu salad, salmon sashimi with ponzu jelly, and the hamachi roll. All were solid and each were $ 7 I believe. My favorite was the salmon sashimi with the ponzu jelly! DRANK: The maiko is $ 5 on the HH menu and it’s like champagne with peach and sake, like an asian bellini! Also the beer«pitcher» is actually a short beer tower for $ 10. Everyone knows drinking from a tower ix 10x cooler than just a plain ol’ pitcher! They have other drinks on the HH menu as well including draft beer and wine. PARKINGANDTHELIKE: You can park in the 24 hour fitness parking lot and they will validate($ 2) but I recommend shooting for street parking. I haven’t had a problem with street parking later at night but I can see how it would be a problem during peak dining hours. Just chance um. They also have valet parking right in front for $ 5. The ambiance is also nice and cute except the bright colored lighting is intense. But they have a lot of comfy booths and larger tables so it seemed like they could accommodate groups of any size! I could definitely see this place being on the list of my regular go-tos for late night HH.

So tonight my sisters and I went to this restaurant for our christmas dinner. First of all, the setting of this restaraunt is beautiful. there was live entertainment when we walked in & we was seated right next to it which was nice :) as for the food i ordered the soft shell crab roll, it was really good. alot of taste & not dry at all. as for my rainbow roll, i love california rolls so i enjoyed that. there was sashimi and salmon on top of the roll which i enjoyed :) i ordered a cocktail. the cosmopolitan one and it was kind of strong. but i enjoyed that. the food is priced okay to me, not too expensive but i have yet to try the happy hour :) i would def go back again

So this is my first time to this place. I’m thinking it’s the same Odori-ko that was in Waikiki & if it is, then wow what an upgrade on the look & menu, but if it’s not then ok going to review it on what I did have. Came in for Happy Hour with my peeps & tried a bunch of stuff together since we were all virgins to this place(well maybe not me if it’s the same as Waikiki’s, lol). This place was cute, the feel was really modern, it’s a bit small, but not bad at all. Spicy Ahi Tartare — Spicy of course, very mashed, but still a bunch of chunks of ahi in there. The guacamole goes wonderful with it! This was accompanied with pita chips for scooping. The chips were a bit too thick & a lot of pieces were too small, but it went well together. I’m like, is this Japanese, Mexican, or Mediterranean? Lol jk, I know I know, sometimes fusions just work, who cares, if it tastes good, then good. Garlic Soy Beans — The taste is the same as anywhere else Mac Nut Tofu — This was surprisingly yummy! Don’t eat the flower, & as far as my pics go, you can’t see the sauce that’s in the bowl, but this was yums! Garlic Shrimp — Lightly breaded, nice size shrimp, but sorry, this was okay for me. Chicken Karaage — Typical Spicy Ahi Roll — This was good, I would order this again, but no real wow factor, but again, still ok! Salmon Sashimi with Ponzu Jelly — Sort of reminds me of the tuna tataki from Doraku, but different, well since its salmon & other different things oh yes ponzu made into a jelly. This was delicious! I would definitely order this again! Wafu Steak — This was ok, it’s hard because the people I was with like their steak well done & that would change the taste & texture for me, so yes, this was ok, while it was well done. Butterfish — So good, but I could do without bones in them. Service though was GREAT! Even let us watch the game we wanted! Our server that night, was awesome! Keep up the good work!

A local generation restaurant that engages food with the community. They are involved with organizations such as the the YWCA, Touch a Heart(homeless), & Junior Achievement. They also show case local artisits. FOOD Modern japanese food. Pupus and family style eating. I came here with my besties to celebrate a dual birthday as my friend and I are only two days apart. So, as you can see we ordered a truck load of food. The MACADAMIANUTTOFU was one of my favorite dishes of the night. You can taste the light macadamia nut flavor infused into the tofu. The texture and taste was subtly close to haupia. I loved it! The SASHIMISALAD was zestful and tangy. The PALMHEARTSTEMPURA was a unique idea. It was starchy like, oily, with the taste of cocount. The OYAKOROLL is a california roll topped with salmon sashimi and salmon roe. A refreshing roll especially if you love salmon and I love salmon. The WAFUSTEAK came out piping hot. It had a wonderful sauce, but the slice of meat we got was quite chewy and very fatty. The DYNAMITEBUTTERFISH was buttery and expected. The HAMACHI/GREEN ONIONROLL was light and crisp. The HOUSESAKE was good. The STRAWBERRYSHOCHU was fun and sweet, but not strong. Finally, we topped off our night with PEANUTBUTTER&CHOCOLATECRISP for dessert. The texture and harmonious flavors of peanut butter & chocolate were delectable and filling! They also gave my friend and I two complimentary birthday desserts! The COFFEE&LILIKOIPANNACOTTA. It was so creamy and delightful! So generous! Apart from it being a cool place to dine, it appears to be kid friendly also. There were a couple of tables that brought their kids. Cool! You know the kids will like the menu choices of miso soup, edamame, noodles, or chicken karaage. HAPPYHOUR 4:30−6:00 pm. I did not try this yet, but soon will. SERVICE Friendly and accomodating, but sometimes confusing. We had 3 different waiters stop by our table, so a couple of the orders were not communicated through. This left my drinker friend, a little irritated. They were quick though when we told them about the lost orders and the drink and appetizer came out briskly. Overall, it turned out to be outstanding service. Especially with the complimentary birthday desserts! Thank you! LOCATION Located under & next to 24 hour fitness. They have valet service or try your luck with street parking or paid parking. A stylish, contemporary setting. Cushioned booths for large parties, large bar, and televisions. CONCLUSION This is a great local Japanese restaurant that will meet all your needs for all occasions. A great place to celebrate a birthday, happy hour fun, late night cravings, and totally family friendly!

Location: right below to 24hr fitness in town. Parking: you can either valet on the bottom for $ 5 or park in the parking garage by Hawaiian Brian’s /24 hr fitness. The restaurant can validate your ticket. It’s usually $ 2 for an extra few hours. Atmosphere: ambience is nice. Came here on a Friday around 9pm. They had live music which was nice. Place can get a little noisy. But it’s great for good group of friends. Food: There menu is pretty expensive for it not being a high end restaurant. My bf and I ordered a big eye roll, beef teriyaki, beer, Uni and a pitcher of yogurt of shochu and our tab came out to $ 50. Didn’t really satisfied our cravings. Quality was decent. They had a special on Uni ! Which was a plus cause it tasted fresh. Portions are also decent size. Good to share for two people or one person if you have a if appetite. Probably would of came here during happy hour. I wouldn’t want to pay much for your typical«bar food» pupus. But hey if you have the money to blow off. Go for it ! Customer service: our waiter was really nice. Great service. They can be attentive to needs but we kinda had to wait another for our check towards the end. Recommendations: go when it’s happy hour and make a reservation !!!

Happy hour and birthday dinner. My friend wanted to come here for her birthday dinner. It’s located right next to 24 hour fitness. We came at happy hour which is from 4:30−6PM. It wasn’t too busy when we came in. The place was nicely decorated and displayed, similar to a Japanese traditional restaurant. We decided to share the happy hour specials: hamachi sushi $ 7, spicy tuna tartare $ 7, Salmon sashimi with grass jelly $ 7, wafu steak $ 18(not happy hour menu). The food overall was pretty good. The portion was pretty decent for the price. The spicy tuna tartare was interesting. The pita chips seems soggy and crumbled. Wafu steak was medium rare and yummy. The servers were awesome. When we asked them to take a pic for us they were so kind to help us out. Nice place to chill after work. We parked at Ala Moana and walked to the restaurant. Only 5 minutes or so walk.

Went here with my friends on a Wednesday night. We ordered a drink off the happy hour menu and also got a tofu salad. For our entrée, my friends got the yuzu chicken teishoku, and the dynamite misoyaki butterfish. I got the wafu steak. TOFUSALAD: the portion was pretty big, but I found the flavors of the salad to be boring. It was left unfinished YUZUCHICKENTEISHOKU: big portions and good quality of sashimi but the yuzu sauce was very acidic and a peppery citrus taste DYNAMITEMISOBUTTERFISH: my friends liked the first bite, but after a few bites, they got tired of it and left almost half of the fish uneaten WAFUSTEAK: I was excited to try this, but this steak was not worth $ 18.95 :(there were lots of bean sprouts underneath the steak, but the steak itself was mediocre in flavor and some parts were tough. I didn’t really taste a sauce per se, but mostly the daikon on top of the steak. Also, it only came with a few pieces of potato wedges that looked very sparse on the plate In all, this place was okay but I don’t plan on coming here again unless it was to try the other things on the happy hour menu. The prices were high for the quality of food, and my steak, a side rice, a tofu salad(Hh menu) and a $ 5 happy hour drink came to almost $ 40… Not worth it in my opinion :/ The atmosphere and restaurant itself, however was really nice, and the service was great. Oh, and the bathrooms were really clean and nice! Lol

This place is very«hip». In my opinion, the price is just a smidgen high for the quality of their food but the plating is nice. The biggest turn off for this restaurant was absolutely the service. Bad service is a huge pet peeve. While the hostess and servers were very friendly, they were inept. We called to make a reservation for 6pm. The hostess told us that sorry, they didn’t have anything open and would we mind sitting at the communal table. My husband said he would rather a table or booth and asked if there was anything available around 6pm, we were flexible. After being put on hold, the hostess came back on the line and said that yes, they had a table open. When we arrive, there were only 3 tables taken… the other 80% of the restaurant was completely empty. After we’re seated, the hostess takes all the plates from the table except for one… sigh. I then asked if we could have one back since there were TWO of us. When our food comes out, instead of setting it on the table, the server hands it to my husband. What is this? And instead of setting my food in front of me, he goes to put it on the other side of the table. And throughout our entire meal, no one came to ask if we needed anything or if we needed a refill. I waved the servers down twice, once to get a refill and another to order dessert. With about 6 servers, 1 hostess, and 4 customers(us included), this type of service is unacceptable.

I’ll be back! A cute place tucked right between 24-hour fitness and Hawaiian Brian’s on Kapi’olani Blvd. the décor is awesome and I loved their serving ware. Service was great! The bartender was very friendly, and I enjoyed talking with the staff who came to check on me. Kitchen is open late– til midnight so if you need more than a musubi at 7 – 11 across the street, come here! I just had a glass of house red and a salmon sashimi with ponzu jelly since I was flying solo after a hair appointment and didn’t want to go home in traffic. That small taste made me want more! The salmon sashimi was beautifully presented in a chilled bowl and came with 7 savory big pieces of salmon. Lots of shredded daikon, onions, radish sprouts and these little jello squares of ponzu flavor added salt and an interesting texture. There are many more things on the menu that look good. The freshness and generous portion of the salmon sashimi makes me think their sushi would be really good.

Odori-Ko is located on kapiolani in the same complex as 24-hour fitness(ground floor). They offer valet parking in front, paid parking available up stairs or finding street parking on Kapiolani. I saw this place featured on Cheap eats on KFVE. They were promoting the happy hour specials(available from 4:30 — 6:00pm). The Grub. [[ SALMONSASHIMIWITHPONZUJELLY $ 7 ]] The ponzu jelly goes great with the fresh salmon. It adds that extra flavor, you won’t even need to dip the sashimi in shoyu! [[ HAMACHIGREENONIONROLL $ 7 ]] This roll was tasty. [[ CHICKENKARAAGE $ 7 ]] The karaage was a good amount of chicken. And not overly breaded: D [[ TUNATARTARE $ 7 ]] This dish is great for sharing! I loved the crackers they used for dipping the tartare in. [[ GARLICSHRIMP $ 8 ]] This was definitely my favorite. Cooked to perfection we had to order is twice! Overall I loved the happy hour specials. Everything we ordered tasted good and felt like everything was made healthier. Nothing was oily or over battered. I will definitely be back for more!

Sorry but this was not my bf and my night during the din din time. Parking: VERYCONFUSING. Since I do not frequently venture to this part of town often or live nearby and own 24 hr fitness membership and come down, we had the absolutely hardest time figuring out how to get down to the bottom level aka the street level to the restaurant. There are no signs to direct where to go. FAIL!!! First impression: once we figured out how to get to the restaurant, we were asked by the hostess if we had any reservations because majority of the tables were reserved. Come on now!!! There wasn’t anything that said you are required to make reservations. Luckily we were able to have dinner if we got out by 7pm. Main reason why the food was so so. Food: miso butterfish was delicious and soft with some bones and my bf had the wafu steak with potato wedges tasted alright. Pretty much majority of the food is ala carte including the items we ordered that night. The wafu steak not worth $ 18.95 with tax. I can get a full meal with that kind of money. Happy hour ended at 6 pm when we arrived there so we got the tuna poke along with our orders. That was okay, nothing spectacular or we need to order more of that. Service: was slow and took awhile to get our checks. Plus the waitress thought no one took our order after a waiter took our order. Pretty unorganized. Good part was that they gave us 10% off our check and validate the parking so it costed us $ 2 for that entire under 1 hr we spend talking and dining in the restaurant. FYI: Remember to make reservations ahead of time or you will have to eat a fast dinner under an hr. Validated parking reserved for the restaurant cost $ 5 per car, but you can get validation if you park in the 24 hr and Hawaiian Brian’s parking structure facing the East bound for $ 2 per hour. In addition, the parking structure needs to have signs directing cars who exiting the building. My bf was real frustrated getting us out that smelly old parking building which staircase smelled like pee and human sweat. Gross!!!

Odoriko, the next generation. Opened by the son and daughter of the original Odoriko in King’s Village. The décor is trendy and modern. Service was helpful and attentive. We ordered the teishoku, which includes shrimp and vegetable tempura, Ahi and salmon sashimi an you your choice of a third dish. We chose the wafu steak and chicken karaage. Sides include a fresh small salad, edamame, miso soup and rice. Tempura was lightly battered and flakey. Sashimi was fresh and flavorful. The steak and kagaage had good flavor and cooked perfectly. Food came out super quickly, like within 5 minutes. There were many server that filled waters and clear dishes in a timely matter. Everyone was very nice. Parking is either valet in that little lot fronting the restaurant($ 5), the Hawaiian Brians/24hr fitness lot($ 2) or the pay lot next door between the surf shop. Good food in a nice hip location. 5 stars.
