Great food and great service, sad for the locals that this location is closing, but happy we got the chance to eat here!

I ordered wide rice noodles with broccoli and tofu for $ 10.95. I specifically asked that it not be greasy. Not only did the noodles come out shiney and slippery(difficult to pick up with chop sticks), but the broccoli was almost raw and there was hardly any tofu in the dish. I would have to say that they were quite expensive noodles. And caused me to have an upset stomach from the grease. The wait staff could have better attitudes as well. No one ever asked if what I received was ok.

Damn this parking lot is a nightmare. Jam packed with people going to the drive thru. Not in too good an area either so you’re gonna wanna park in the lot. I guess Thai food isn’t too popular in Waikiki. All the restaurants we found had low or very few ratings. We settled on this place after we couldn’t find the first one we wanted to go to. They could stand to get a decorator but I don’t judge based on appearances. I reserve that for people. Not too crowded unlike the seafood place upstairs which was packed. Small enough to eavesdrop on other group conversations which is what my mom did. We have nothing else to talk about. On to the food. These Thai restaurants sure know how to slather on the sauce. I got the Thai Basil with chicken, spicy of course, and it was drenched. But it was delicious and I ate it all. Good thing I saved my calories today. I also tried my mom’s shrimp rolls. Every restaurant I’ve been to the shrimp rolls all taste the same. I dunno why she keeps getting them. They’re not really that great as a dish in general. Pretty much the only bad thing about this spot is the location. Their menu spans far and wide and it took me a good ten minutes to finally pick something. Food is not fantastic but it tastes pretty good. Three and a half stars seems about right.

So delicious! I can’t emphasize that enough. Because it totally made up for the lack of great in the service. We were seated by the kitchen and could hear the staffs communication. I think the waiter was mad because we ordered just one appetizer and one entrée and I got the vibe that he wanted a table who would spend more than we were. Little did he know we were trying this place for the first time & he was our first impression. Regardless, like I said, the food made up for that tenfold! I could kinda excuse the«Know what you want?» but had our waiter not asked us after our meal«want dessert?» Then when we replied«no thanks but man that was so delicious!» he didn’t yell«TABLESEVENDONE» before he even got to the kitchen, I woulda given this place 5 stars. I will be back though. The food is really their lifesaver!

Food is always on point with service to match. When I go we usually get the fresh shrimp spring rolls, Panang curry with beef(spicy) and Pad Thai with fried tofu! Thank you Phuket Thai… My belly thanks you as well.

Cyndy’s Bottom Line: just ok Thai food. Be there eat that. We stopped in because we were craving Thai food. We were lucky to find a parking spot this congested parking lot so we thought good food is next in line. We walked in and noticed it was not terribly busy. We got to select our table. We already had in mind to order the stuffed chicken wings. We also ordered the spring rolls and long rice salad with shrimp. The long rice salad with shrimp arrived first. It had a nice even mix of vegetables such as onions, cucumbers, carrot strings, cilantro, mint and the delicious fish sauce and shrimp. Delicious favors well balanced and the light and fresh vegetables. The stuffed chicken wings were served with peanut sauce. The wings were coated with a thick almost corn meal type batter and fried well done. I didn’t particularly like the coating. It was stuffed with vegetables and long rice. The spring rolls arrived last you would think the best for last. Not this time. It was under fried, very oily tasting and the filling had no flavor, very bland. Served with lettuce leaves, and cucumbers with fish sauce. It tasted like it was sitting around too long. That was disappointing. :) Glad to try a new place but I won’t be back.

I love Thai food! We were in the area and others have rated this place well. I gave it 3 stars for the service, not the food. The food was great! We had the spring rolls, green curry with chicken and Phuket shrimp with cabbage and brown rice. The chef uses different spices which made the flavors come out more than usual. In regards to the«heat», the medium may be a little hot for most. It’s about a 3.5 — 4 star in most Thai restaurants. Here’s where they got down graded. The server was attentive at the beginning, but must have been new. She didn’t to appear to be totally engaged in the work. When the spring rolls arrived they were deep fried. She neglected to tell us they offer both fried and fresh. Most Thai places that I have been to that fried the spring rolls ask if you want fresh or fried. Rather than take them back she just walked away. We had to flag down someone else to get an answer. When the rest of the food came she seemed to not really care and was inattentive. The location is in a strip mall and is not easily visible from the street. If it wasn’t for the server I would have given it a 4 star, but service is a big part of the restaurant experience, so 3 stars is appropriate.

Spontaneous dinner plans lead to this location of Phuket Thai. This was my first time here, and it won’t be my last! With my three other friends, we all ordered separate plates and shared with one another. We had the Phuket salad, beef pad Thai, fried chicken, and papaya salad. You can choose the spicy level for most of the dishes, which helped a lot for me and my friend who can’t handle spicy haha. The food was pretty good, portion size was alright, and it definitely filled us up. Our server, Ryder, was a dear. He provided excellent service and made us feel very welcome! 5 stars for you, glen coco.

I love the curries from this place. My favorites are the panang and green curries with seafood. The prices have gone up a bit I noticed. It’s now $ 13.95 for the seafood curry and $ 2.25 for a serving of sticky rice. Sticky rice is a must for me, when I do Thai curry. The rice just sops the curry all up. I can’t choose between the green and panang curries, so I just take turns ordering them when I go. The green curry is made with eggplant and basil. The panang curry is made with peanut sauce. I get them both in mild and they’re both delicious. I’m never disappointed. This time, I was there with my hubby, son and parents. The hubby always get the mild yellow curry with chicken. He really likes that. My mom ordered the stir fried crab legs which she said was delicious. My dad ordered the stuffed chicken wings, since I was sharing my curry with him. I can never finish their portions, plus the sticky rice is a filler. The chicken wings were fabulous. It was stuffed with chicken, potato, carrots and onions. It’s served with a killer peanut dipping sauce. I also got a Thai iced tea. It was good but really sweet. They had put in too much condensed milk. The servers were friendly and the food came out in a timely manner. I have no complaints.

Granted everything in Hawaii takes a long time that’s just the way things are and you learn to accept that but there is a difference between acceptable and waiting one hour for a total of two entrées one of which was soup. Overall for Thai food this place is pretty average and the prices are average as well unless you have a lot of time on your hands I do not recommend coming here you can only wait so long for your basic Pad Thai dish, especially when the servers don’t come over to tell you they’re running behind or apologize.

I go here often. Like, so often I’m a little ashamed. So often that they KNOW my order when I walk in. I need to chill on the pad Thai. Food: I always get the same thing soooooo it’s obviously awesome. Chicken pad Thai, no bean sprouts, no chives(clearly I am a weirdo veggie hater) I love the spring rolls, I love Thai tea. Sometimes I do chicken satay but that can be hit or miss. Service: attentive and fast. I can run in during lunch, mow down my food and be out in 20. Not great for digestion but great for a lunch break. I’ve been here at dinner time too and they’re on it then as well. The space is cozy, it would be good for date night or a family outing. It’s BYOB so that’s awesome. Thank you Phucket for feeding my addiction to pad Thai, you’re my fave.

Whenever I eat Thai food I usually eat Panang curry with sticky rice along with Papaya salad and Pad Thai noodles but I wanted to try their famous fried chicken this time. The fried chicken here is the bomb! It’s very crispy on outside and still tender and juicy on the inside. One order feeds about 2 – 3 people. I also love their noodles whether it be Pad Thai or their flat noodles like Pad see ew. Curries from here is also pretty good too. Good service at this location. If I’m feeling in the mood for Thai then I will def come back when in this area.

Let’s be real about this. Phuket Thai is maybe the 4th best Thai restaurant within a 3 mile radius. It’s a fair place to dine in or take out, but there is nothing compelling about the menu that makes you say, «we gotta go back and get that one dish again.» So if you’re in the mood for Thai, Phuket Thai is just that. It’s BYOB, which is a bonus, but I’d only go out of convenience, NOT because of the menu.

Ok, first, parking. Eat lunch early, lots of parking, street level or down below street level(entry from McCullyheading makai only.) Mom and I went on a Sunday at around 11:30, parking, no prob. The restaurant was pretty empty, no menu visible from outside. Only a Specials board. Greeted quickly and very friendly. Three waiters on for lunch. Nice casual seating. Menu was extensive, unfortunately it was a bit dark in the restaurant so I couldn’t take a picture of it. Mom ordered off the specials menu. She asked for phở,(none listed on the regular menu). The waiter was quick to say it was available as a special. I had Broccoli Noodle with Chicken. Sorry, I can’t remember the Thai name. I know, I know, BAD blogger, so rookie mistake! It was $ 13.95 choice of seafood, shrimp(alone), or beef. Mild, Medium or Hot seasoning. I chose medium… PERFECT choice! Hot enough for a little burn, but not enough to block out the other flavors. Broccoli crunchy but not raw, nice tender bits of chicken, and thick hand cut noodles. Mom said hers was perfect too. Large portion, she got through about half, not bad for a 100 lb little lady. Service was attentive, knowledgeable and non vulture like. Very friendly. Prices within reason. In conclusion, 4.5 stars, only problem was no menu outside to tempt us in, a little dim inside, hence my pics not so good.(Hey, it can’t be my fault right?) Otherwise, a great experience! I will be back if traffic allows.(I live in Pearl City)

I love this place! It’s close to home and the food and service are always great. I have eaten here many times and only now getting around to a review. Usually I get one curry dish, some noodles and an appetizer. Tonight green curry with chicken, pad thai with beef and crispy eggplant. All three were delicious. The curry has so much flavor. Wish I could make curry like this. Oh am don’t forget to try their homemade ice cream, it’s a perfect way to end any meal.

First off, who’s Thai in this joint? The food tasted as if Thailand was colonized by China and Influenced by Vietnam, which is far from the truth. The Pad Krapow was bland with heavy, thick sauce that’s similar to what you’d find in a Chinese food meal. The Larb salad was bland. These 2 dishes that I ordered are supposed to be the tastiest offerings in any Thai restaurants. Being Thai/American who grew up in 2 Thai restaurants and had extensive background training in Thai cooking, the best way to measure a great Thai joint is by ordering those 2 dishes and in my case tonight, it failed. This restaurant is pedestrian at best.

Phuket Thai has been around for a long time. This place used to be busy. Tonight however I was the only party dining in. Where is everyone? Service used to be like fine dining too! Servers used to be neatly dressed and treated you like you were at 5 stars restaurant. They would check multiple times if you needed anything. Fortunately food was the only thing that was same as I recall. I think they used msg cause my family were super thirsty after dinner. So I did give 3 stars. Do you remember I said I was the only party dining? 2 of the server were unprofessional which I won’t go into detail. I had to ask for takeout boxes for my leftovers. I missed the old Phuket Thai.
