I got my pinwheel ice cream sandwiches at Diamond Head Market and Grill, for 4.25 each. 50 cents higher than the retail price of the treats directly from pinwheel. Not too bad of a mark up until you see how small the sandwiches are. I tried cho-coco(haupia ice cream between two brownies) and it’s your birthday(milk and cereal ice cream between funfetti like cookies). The chocolate haupia one was my favorite out of the two, and only because of the rich, dark quality of the brownies. If you’re not a fan of dark chocolate it may be too intense for you(I loved it). Something about the ice cream though, didn’t seem to pair too well with the brownies, maybe too much of an authentic coconut flavor and not enough of the coconut cream(haupia flavor)…dunno, couldn’t quite figure it out. The other sandwich had great ice cream, I loved the concept of cereal and milk ice cream, and though the cookies were a good choice, they were a little too sweet and over powered the ice cream flavor. I really want to try the mint one next, and I hope they bring back the snickerdoodle apple pie flavor combo, that sounded Delish!

Pinwheel has a super cute concept: individually wrapped, heart-shaped, ice cream sandwiches made with homemade cookies. Great for parties. I could see these at a wedding, bridal shower, kid’s party or Valentine’s treat. I tried a Taro Mac-alicious. It was pretty good. The macadamia nut cookie might have suffered a bit from being frozen, but it was sweet, soft, and had nut bits running through it. The ice cream was a pretty purple with a sweet, very mild taro taste. Perfect for your next gathering, order your ice cream sandwiches from their website:

When I think of a pinwheel, a giddy feeling comes over me as I imagine the wind gracefully glide through the colorful spokes creating a mesmerizing sight. I always wonder who the genius is that came up with such a creative apparatus. The same applies to these scrumptious delights. Trust me-you will feel giddy and mesmerized after your first bite of these amazing creations. You’ll wonder who the geniuses behind Pinwheel Hawaii are. Well, Steph and Angela truly are geniuses and once you take a bite of these indulgent moist cookies surrounding creamy ice cream, you’ll agree. Just do yourself a favor and instead of deciding which flavor to get, order them all. Yes, all of them. You won’t have a hard time finding a friend to help you devour them and you’ll be pleased with yourself for deciding to try them all. The only«problem» you’ll have is deciding which is your favorite. Good luck with that.

I tried Pinwheel Hawaii today for the first time. I have to say it was so delicious that I went back to get another ice cream sandwich a few hours later! I had the Blonde Bombshell earlier, and I just had the Oreo Twist. Both were so tasty! I’m already hooked. Luckily, they are now available at the Fresh Café by my work downtown so I can get my fix whenever I want. I’m planning on using them for the next baby shower that I plan. I think my friends will love their gourmet flavors and different shapes.

Gourmet Ice Cream sandwiches plus delivery! These ladies get it done in a fun way. We had these sandwiches at our baby shower and they were a hit. People found themselves eating more than one because they were tempted to compare the unbelievable flavors i.e. Snicker doodle cookie + Dutch apple pie ice cream or Birthday cake cookie + cereal milk ice cream. You need to order through their website though due to no storefront.
