Can we get some service! Veronica told me on Tuesday, she wasn’t out walking around the pool because she would be going home because it was slow. Ok, so each time I went to the window she was there funny. Funny, that I couldn’t find a chair but it was slow. She actually closed that day. So I’m back today and she is doing the same thing not walking around. No service! However, she left on break and we totally got device from another waitress. What’s going on here?

Where do you eat a cooked breakfast in Hilton Hawaiian Village without spending an arm and a leg? Read on. We had just arrived the previous afternoon at HHV, tired after waking up at 5am the previous day to catch an 8am flight that took 6 hours. 22 acre HHV has 20 restaurants, but only a handful serve breakfast. We walked a quarter of a mile from our room in the Kalia tower, to the Alii tower closest to the beach. Tropics Bar and Grill hot breakfast entrees $ 17-$ 26. Rainbow Lanai breakfast buffet $ 30. Restaurant price sticker shock! We check out the open tables of an eating place called Pronto Pickle, and see a line of people inside at the counter. Good sign, as all these people can’t be wrong about this restaurant, despite the garish colored green walls. Plenty of choices for breakfast: $ 8.50 ham & cheese croissant, $ 8.50 sausage egg cheese malasada, $ 6.50 egg cheese malasada, $ 9.50 kale burrito, $ 9.50 sausage burrito, $ 9.50 spinach kische, $ 9.50 kale kische, and $ 10 breakfast bowl. Didn’t know what a malasada was, and didn’t ask, as I was not in a mood to experiment, but went with the breakfast bowls, as most food for the buck. The lady behind the counter scoops up the scrambled eggs, 3 sausage links and the breakfast potatoes for myself, while the wife checks out the cost of the coffee –too high — before getting the breakfast bowl also, but with mango sausage. We eat on the tables outside, first having to clean off one of the tables –where is the local help when you need it? We finishing off our delicious hot breakfast bowls in minutes, while doing people watching, of all the tourists looking for a place for breakfast. Ocean view? What ocean view? Got to go to those two other restaurants, and pay the big bucks for the ocean view! There are pigeons and other birds walking along the tables. They are prompt to clean up any food dropped on the tiled floor, which is more than I can say for the hired help! We eat here only once, and only for this breakfast, even though they open real early at 6am. We buy milk and cereal bowls at the nearby ABC store on the premises, eating in our hotel room, using our plastic utensils from Pronto Pickle. Pronto Pickle also serves lunch and dinner 10am-10pm, mainly sandwiches and burgers. We eat breakfast two days later at Wailana Coffee shop, on the corner of Ala Moana and Kalia Rd, across from HHV, with the locals, with a full breakfast starting at around $ 7.95. No locals at Pronto Pickle, only HHV guests who don’t know any better!

Cheapest and Easiest place to eat in the Hilton Hawaiian Village. They offer breakfast through dinner. Grab & Go is their theme here. Options such as sandwiches, fruits and desserts are among your choices. The good– the breakfast sandwiches and fresh fruit are reasonable. The ham croissant sandwich actually has a pretty decent filling. The fresh fruit cups accompanied the sandwich perfectly. Of course the pineapple is the best you’ll ever taste. I believe I tried to eat pineapple everywhere on this island. Starbucks coffee is also sold here. If you want more of the Starbucks options, just truck it over near the Ali’i Tower. The bad– Whatever you do, avoid the pizza here. It was really awful. I would have rather had a $ 1 Tostino’s pizza than eat theirs again. The crust was bad and nearly burned all over. The toppings were obscure. Overall it’s ok. Some good and some bad. Nice option on the resort grounds.

While the food is decent it’s definitely nothing spectacular. And at $ 20 for two pre-made panini’s I just felt robbed. This is an example of ridiculously overpriced basic items just because it’s in a resort area. Need to come back down to earth.

Way over priced, 20 oz bottle of water $ 4.95, you can literally walk 3 minutes to the ABC store on the property and buy the exact same brand but 50.72 oz for .99 cents. I bought one hamburger and hot dog and it cost $ 21. They are ripping the Hilton Hawaiian Village guest off.

First time here — I had the turkey sandwich. It was fresh, filling + healthy, too! Not bad for a place that receives quite a few bad reviews. Maybe the other food isn’t good, but what I had was good. I wanted fried rice, but that’s only on the lunch menu. I’ll probably come back here while I’m here at the resort.

Convenient but very expensive poolside take out. Two salads and a chicken sandwich with waters ran us about $ 55. There are so many better, less expensive options within walking distance.

Quick bite to eat but don’t expect much flavor. We stirred here to eat twice for lunch on the beach. Teriyaki chicken was good, but the fried rice was terrible. My wife had the bbq chicken wings, which were okay. Second time I had a roast beef sandwich which was very bland and disappointing.

Was hungry after going to beach and before shuttle picked us up, so I grabbed a chicken teriyaki with veggie fried rice. It was $ 12.50. Picked up drink from ABC because it’s $ 2 cheaper. Food was fine.

Such an odd name for a small deli. But I guess it works! The Hilton Hawaiian has two of these on property and when your in a rush to get to the beach, it’s a nice place to stop by, pick up a quick lunch. They have prepackaged salads sandwiches, hot food like fries and hot wings and an assortment of drinks, fruit and snacks. Keep in mind that these prices are very much resort prices so prepare to spend a good chunk of change on something that you would think is $ 2.00. Regardless, the food is good and the service is not bad too! I must say, the best thing that I got from there is the spinach, mushroom, provolone and egg white breakfast wrap! Yummy!!! It was so good, I didn’t have a chance to take a pic. Whoops!

Now I’m not one of these Unilocalers who like to bash a place, but all I can say is don’t waste your $$$… Not a quality product in any way and insanely expensive! Save yourself the time…

People need to stop hating on the Pronto Pickle, because, at least for breakfast, it is delicious. Three of the seven days that I was in Honolulu, I stopped in for the sweet hawaiian loaf stuffed with gruyère and ham, along with a guava juice for $ 10. It was heavenly. I will concede that the teriyaki chicken with yakisoba noodles on the lunch menu left a lot to be desired… but that breakfast was amazing!

Their Fried Rice with Teri Chicken is super yummy. Kinda pricey for that Keiki portion but it’s worth it I guess if you’re hungry and don’t much have options. It’s nearby my working place so okay why not. Make sure you have your Discount Card with you if not no discount just what happened to me. And it’s okay! Lol

Hot dog is $ 9.50 and it’s only worth $ 1. Way over priced food and quality is not high. Burgers are pricy but meat tastes odd. Almost $ 5 for a small bottle of coke, just walk 1 min to the ABC store and pay 1⁄3 of that price for a coke.

The food is very overpriced, especially since the quality is just not there. We purchased a vegetable wrap sandwich and nachos. The wrap was largely tasteless without any dressing or sauce. Although even without any sauce the wrap was still soggy from being in a refrigerated unit until I grabbed it for lunch. The nachos were a hot item and not immediately ready to «grab-and-go». We were disappointed after we ordered and paid for them to receive a container of 7 – 11 style nachos and substitution cheese dip. This place is made for convenience, being just off the beach and next to the pool in the Hylton Hawaiian Village. However, we were disappointed and wouldn’t trade the convenience of the location and style of food for the poor quality and high prices.

Had the teriyaki chicken and pork yakisoba. It isn’t anything you’d write home about. Yakisoba is typically flavorful, but it wasn’t very here. I had to douse it with sriracha to make it more flavorful. The portion is generous though. I’d wish it was tastier.

There are two locations of Pronto Pickle at the Hilton hawaiin Village. Both are quick serve, grab and go type of spots. Perfect for a quick bite before hitting the beach or pools. They have breakfast items like pastries and muffins. They also have hot items for lunch, as well as salads and sandwiches. Nothing special, but it’s good for a quick meal. Prices are not cheap, but that’s to be expected anywhere and everywhere on the resort.

1. Slowest service. There is a line out the door. It’s noon. And they have 3 registers and 1 lady behind the register and 1 lady taking orders. 2. It is fast food… The food are laid out buffet style. You pick what you want and pay for it. 3. This place is expensive. They only serve cheeseburger for $ 10.75. It is ala carte. Chips was $ 2.50 and a beer for $ 7.00. A hot dog was $ 9.75. A chocolate milk was $ 2.75. In total, 2 cheeseburgers, 1 hot dog, 2 bags of chips, 2 chocolate milk and 1 can of beer for our family of 3 was $ 49 with tax. Most expensive meal ever and it did not taste good either.

Pronto Pickle does what it’s name says! …except for the pickle part because I truly didn’t see any pickles… but anyway, yes it is pronto. Their menu is simple… hot dogs, noodles, rice, pizzas, sandwiches(both hot and wrapped cold), wraps, drinks, desserts and pastries, coffee… It is kind of a mini mini ABC store grocery style… Was the food devine? No… but it satisfied my hunger. It was mediocre. It did what it was supposed to do, etc etc. I got a turkey panini which took 3 minutes to make… and free tap water for a little over $ 9. Expensive? Yes… but so is everything else around… you take your pick! Panini was filling but a little on the salty side as it was loaded with cheese. This place isn’t for the fancy… but if you are looking for something quick… something to grab n’ go. something to snack on… then this does the trick(hey that rhymes…). There are happy hour specials when the food is half off,… so ask for times if you are interested.

This place is hard to find. It’s been awhile since I’ve been to Hilton Hawaiian Village, but I’m familiar with the property and I still took awhile to find the place(and had to ask for directions!). It’s located to the left of Tropics, close to the beach and their large pool area. The Hilton’s chef created specialty cupcakes that is sold here. I’m a huge fan of cupcakes, so of course I had to go on a journey to find this new cupcake place. While it is called Pronto Pickle, the service there is not pronto at all. There were only two other couples in the place with us and four workers. It took at least five minutes for us to get helped while one lady was restocking the cupcake case that was in front of us. It was like they couldn’t even see us standing there. The cupcakes weren’t too expensive — $ 3 each. I’m used to paying about $ 2 – 3 for a cupcake at other bakeries, so these prices seemed reasonable. The cupcakes overall were good. Bubble gum — it ACTUALLY tasted like bubble gum! When I first tasted it, I almost started chewing it like a piece of gum! The cake was moist and not dense. Very good choice. The frosting was a little loose; definitely more on the liquidy side. Passion orange guava — this was a gluten free cupcake. The cupcake I had were recently taken from the back and I have a feeling that it just came from a fridge. The frosting was solid — it may have been a butter cream but its was very hard(i had difficulty poking my fork through the frosting and I could easily flip the frosting off the top of the cake itself). Also, the frosting was bland — it seemed more for decoration than anything. Right underneath the frosting was a jelly. The cake was vanilla with a cream filled center. The flavor of passion orange guava really came from the jelly and the cream on the inside of the cake. The rest of the cake was pretty standard vanilla. The texture of the cake was hard and pretty tough to cut through. The texture made me think it was just taken out of the fridge since the entire cake and frosting were solid and the cake was cold. Maybe it would have been better if I let it thaw out more. The parts with the POG flavor were yummy. While the texture was a bit off with the POG cupcake and the service could be speedier, I want to go back to try their other flavors. Keep in mind that if you go here, make sure you have at least $ 8 for parking at the Hilton garage.
