RadioShack– Nuuanu Shopping Plaza Closed. It is now a Walgreens that I think I also reviewed– so going back to make sure people know this location is closed. It was in a weird family corner location that it was more of a corner convenience store store — and now it’s a Walgreens. Hungry Lion and a flower shop also used to be there — which they are not there anymore either.

Does anyone actually buy anything from RadioShack anymore? On the occasion that I do visit, my intention isn’t buying something, but for information, or I’m killing time waiting for my son to be done at Supercuts, or waiting for the 15 minutes to pass for my Thai food order to be ready or for my Rx to be filled. Their prices are exceptionally high in comparison to Walmart, Best Buy or even Kmart. On a positive note, the staff are exceptionally attentive and generally very knowledgeable and they seem to be genuinely interested is answering any and all questions a customer might have.

I have been a fan and dedicated customer of Radio Shack stores for 50 years. Recently, I have noted a trend away from backing up their products and customer satisfaction. Whether because of corporate edict, or maybe they are going down the tubes(?), the customer service has taken a nosedive. Now, when a product is wrong, or defective, it’s because«you damaged it. We’re not going to exchange it or give your money back. And our manager and district manager will tell you the same thing.» I bought a simple cel phone earpiece. It literally fell apart within two days — while resting in my ear. When I went to return it to the Radio Shack store in the Nuuanu Shopping Plaza(Honolulu, Hawaii), G____was accusatory(«blame the customer»), cared less about my decades of patronage, displayed total inflexibility and treated me with disdain and amusement. This is the worse customer service I have ever experienced. Talking with friends, we have all noticed a change of attitude among Radio Shack stores nationwide. Someone at the top must be saying something like(at least in Hawaii), «…forget customer service. We’re not making money on it. We’ll give a bonus to the employee who has the least product returns or refunds. That’ll keep us solvent.» Too bad. I saw a similar lack of concern for customers and bad attitude before the demise of CompUSA stores. Buyers beware!

Very friendly employees… especially Anthony the store manager. Always treats us like VIP customers.

Unilocal Challenge 365 #180/365 I would have never thought of Radioshack if not for their advertisment and sale of portable dvd players. Actually, the portable dvd players were on sale all over town, from big box stores to regular department stores. I chose Radioshack because it was the closest to me at the time. No lines, no parking issues, no nothing! Walked in, asked for the dvd player, got it and I also got a cover for my IPhone… They have almost everything you would need for electronics and also for mobile phones. Their prices are comparable and maybe some items better than other stores. Service was great. I was in and out of the store in 10 minutes flat. I learned never to take for granted things which are right in front of me!

Radio Shack is expensive and carry a limited supply of parts. I was looking for a 20163v battery and they didn’t carry it, nor could they order it. The staff there provide great service and told me that Longs carried what I needed.

Well it is close to downtown although the store is one of the smaller Radio Shacks and has a limited supply of things for more common items it is a good bet to go to this one and usually never crowded.
