Not a welcoming office. The moment I walked in, it feels like the mainland. I’d rather go to an office that’s filled with lots of aloha. People, this is Hawaii! There’s better eye clinics that can serve not only good treatment but better service. Don’t go to an office where you feel discriminated!!!

Dr. Clason has worked diligently to equip me with the perfect pair of glasses and contacts. My eyes are«special» therefore extremely challenging. In addition to custom made contact lenses, I’ve requested a «thin and light» pair of glasses which is difficult to obtain with my prescription. Dr. Clason and his staff have worked with the lab in order to provide me with the best quality glasses. I appreciate their patience and professionalism. I must also mention that during my visits, Dr. Clason has shared his knowledge on eye health and what to expect in the future. I recommend Dr. Clason not only because he is ophthalmologist but also because he and his staff are very personable, knowledgable and professional.

i have been going here for 10+ years, always professional and pleasant, even office staff is polite, dr clason is also a surgeon who did an eye operation on me awhile back, no problem since. he also has a optometrist(donna wong) on site to assist with glasses if needed a one stop shop.

This a one man practice, plus a receptionist and an optician. So patients are single-threaded through the queue. Dr. Clason is extremely knowledgeable, being an ophthalmologist, not just an optometrist(so a full doctor). Like the way he can bill both my vision insurance and my health insurance to get fuller medical coverage for me. He is a bit impersonal in the bed-side-manner department. But is has patience whenever I ask a lot of questions(and I ask a lot when it comes to health care). Office practices seem a bit odd. Had trouble getting a price on what my glasses would cost, and they blocked my insurance for glasses so I couldn’t go elsewhere(I found out about this on a Saturday when the office was closed, just took a phone call to get the benefits unlocked to use elsewhere. But had to wait to Monday). Overall a good doctor. And that is what my review is based on… not the parking, not the optician, etc.

They don’t validate parking tickets, I don’t like parking in their garage & paying more out-of-pocket, and occasionally, the metered parking will be all taken up!!! In addition, I’ve found my visits over the last few years to be semi-unpleasant experiences … the optician will be too busy to offer the personalized one-on-one service that she used to give. Noticing that the patience, kindness & individual attention I’ve always received has been deteriorating. Now, she’s always busy answering phones, taking orders from Dr. Clayson, tending to other patients, etc. They have another employee, but her duties are elsewhere. This last time, I was coming in for my annual vision exam … at da same time, another dingo comes in for some emergency … I’m sitting there just waiting … wanted to ask her just a few questions to determine what my coverage would be for a new pair of frames vs. contacts … just so I can determine the best choice on what to get … 5 – 10 minutes pass by … nothing. I interrupt politely to ask my question and get handed a curt and rude response to «just wait.» Wait more … get same response. Flock it already! If Dr. Clayson is too Chang(cheap) to hire more staff to tend to his customers, den das his problem. Won’t be frequenting here no more & gonna choose a new optician for my upcoming annual eye exam in 2011.
