I just had my Lasik surgery done last week, and am very pleased with the results(I have 20⁄20 vision now yahoooooo!). I felt confident that Dr. Gee would do a great job because he did my mom’s eyes 8 years ago, and she still has good vision. Dr. Gee was one of the first few doctors in Hawaii to do Lasik surgery, and he has been practicing for about 20 years or so. Since the beginning of Lasik, the technology has gotten better, and they use new lasers(the fourth generation of lasers) now to cut the flap and reshape the cornea(some parts of this were manual in the past — but he still has to manually lift the flap after it is cut). Before the procedure, I set up an appointment to see if I was a candidate for the surgery. They offer payment plans if you aren’t able to dish out the price since insurance companies do NOT cover Lasik. It was easy to set up an appointment, and the receptionist/secretary Rae is super nice. If you are a candidate, Dr. Gee will prepare you by telling you what to expect. During the short procedure(I think I was in the actually surgery room for less than 10 minutes!), which was done at the Pan Pacific Laser Institute, on Keeaumoku St., Dr. Gee talked me through the whole procedure in a nice calming voice. The surgery didn’t really hurt, but you do feel pressure. I can confidently recommend Dr. Gee for Lasik surgery. I’m so happy with my new perfect vision(minus the night halos around lights, which supposedly will go away in a few months or so)!
