Dr. Stephen Tenby as well as the other two Doctors in his office are exceptional. They always get us in even for no notice emergencies. It is very easy to schedule with them. All three Doctors are caring and extremely good at getting to the correct diagnosis and solving the problems. We have seen them for at least 5 years for our now 11 year old. They have made a huge difference treating her asthma. They have quickly resolved other issues a long the way. I highly recommend any of the three Doctors at Dr. Stephen Tenby’s office.

I have been sending my son to Dr. Tenby/Dr. Buehler for the last 5 years and we have had a great experience with them. They are both very kind and patient. In fact, since I don’t have a primary care physician, I see them myself for minor issues. I appreciate the fact that when my son is ill, they make an effort to squeeze him in the same day. They recently renovated the office and waiting rooms and every thing looks pretty spiffy now!

Just on a whim I decided to check and see if Dr. Tenby had any Unilocal reviews and I was SHOCKED to read the negative reviews. My experience has been the complete opposite! My two daughters love Dr. Tenby. We even like his partner Dr. Buehler! Initially, my oldest daughter was going to a different doctor. She developed a cough at 6 mos that just would not go away. I kept going to her fist doctor and they didn’t have a diagnosis or anything. I took her for a second opinion with Dr. Tenby and she was immediately diagnosed. From that moment we knew we had our pediatrician. Yes, I will admit that at first Dr. Tenby seemed to not remember our kids. But, I reminded myself that he had only been practicing for about 40 years, so I am sure that after all those years, it gets a bit hard to remember facts about every single child treated in those years. When it comes time to get to the nitty gritty medical treatment and recommendations, he is spot on. As time went by and he got to know our family, he remembers everything. As for the lady that commented that he was huffing and puffing about her refusal to vaccinate, I understand why. Yes it is her«choice.» Personally, I believe that vaccinations are necessary for the child and for society in general. Whenever my children have been sick, we have always been able to get an appointment. We may have to wait a bit in the office as we’re getting squeezed in, but at least we don’t have to wait another day. Since Dr. Tenby partnered with Dr. Buehler several years ago, it has been even easier to see someone. It is awesome. This past March, my oldest broke her wrist while we were visiting Lake Tahoe. The ER doc there splinted her and gave her vicodin. The vicodin took away the pain, but not the swelling which could cause nerve damage if the splint was wrapped too tightly. Since we were out of state and it was a weekend, short of going back to the ER we were helpless as we watched her cry and suffer. We decided to call Dr. Tenby’s Physician’s Exchange number and got Dr. Buehler who was on call. Dr. Buehler told us that she should instead be taking ibuprofen, rather than the vicodin. Sure enough, the ibuprofen did wonders! The bulk of her pain was due to the swelling and resulting compression by the splint. Dr. Buehler saved her from additional nights of pain. I have put my trust in Dr. Tenby for over 14 years now and Dr. Buehler for about 3 years and will continue to do so.

If I could give this doctor no stars I definatly would have. My son has seen six different pediatricians and Dr. Tenby is by far the WORST. He is very unprofessional and yelled at me for asking a simple question about the course of treatment he was prescribing. He is very pushy on vaccinations AND flu shots. He asked me 7 times during one visit if I wanted to give one to my son and when I politely refused he shook his head and huffed.(and here I thought it was the parents right to choose?). Don’t bother trying to call and ask him questions over the phone. He had to ask me 4 times what my child’s name was and told me I shouldn’t send him to school when he is sick when he was in fact sitting right next to me. These are just a few of the horrible experiences I have had with this doctor. Steer clear of this office and this rude, unprofessional and pushy doctor!

He’s been our long time family doctor for 2 generations and he truly rocks! He’s always been professional, very knowledgeful and knows what he’s doing. I was utterly shocked to hear the previous reviewer’s terribly negative comments about untrue things. Don’t believe them.
