The Cookie Corner

Fresh baked cookies pretty much all day long, this place is right outside the elevator in Topa Financial Center and draws me in fairly often. Their M and M cookies or brownies are fantastic.

The cookies were okay but the location is a little odd… I would have never known that there was a Cookie Corner there. I had the M&M cookie and it was yummy!

Cookie Corner! What a great way to cheer up one’s day! @ $ 12 per pound, these cookies are pricey but worth every calorie and dollar. I’m not a snickerdoodle fan but I will eat a billion of them if they’re from Cookie Corner. These cookies are fabulous– soft, yet slightly chewy. Delicious. Happiness in a bag.

Usually I stop by the Bishop Street shop, but since we recently moved across the street from Topa, I figured I’d give this place a try.
The Good: It’s very close to my office, the building it’s in (Topa Towers) seems clean, with various eateries, etc. and the worker was quite nice.
The Bad: The customer area for this shop seems a bit small, but no biggie. My main gripe and reason for posting was the gnat (s) flying in, and landing on the cookies in the display case. Not saying it was full of critters, but even one is too many for customers to see.
Perhaps a closed display case would help.
For personal preference, I think I’ll stick to the Bishop Street shop from now on.

Love this place. I pass by here almost everyday when getting lunch but today I decided to stop by when i was running bank errands late in the afternoon.
It was later on in the day near clsoing time and the selection was bare BUT they always have the chocolate chip cookie which is my favorite. Its really buttery and flavorful.
The best time to get them is when they come right out of the oven. Also you can tell they are about to come out is when you walk by and you smell them baking. Just ask them when they will come out of the oven and just come back.
Over all this is my go to place when I’m not feeling cupcakes and this hits my sugar sweet spot.

If you work in downtown, it’s something of a conspiracy that Cookie Corner is located strategically near other lunch places at Bishop Square, Topa Tower, and Pioneer Plaza, like some Bermuda Triangle of temptation. The fact that their ovens are constantly churning out that warm, sweet scent of freshly baked cookies is criminal. Or it should be. How can anybody walk by and NOT want to turn into a furry blue muppet?
I feel like my trips to San Francisco Salad (two spots down) are always thwarted by the fact that I also stop and get oatmeal raisin cookies.
The cookies here are always fresh, warm and delicious. The staff are ALWAYS happy and friendly, too. Maybe I should go to work in a cookie store so I can be happy all day!

Who doesn’t love their fresh baked cookies as an afternoon pick me up?! I rarely can resist the smell wafting through the Pioneer Plaza Food Court… especially when I go to San Francisco Salad!
My favorite is the Peanut Butter Cookie!
The ladies that work here are all nice and friendly ~ never had a sour puss!

There’s a certain time in a month that I am craving cookies, and what better place to get it from… COOKIE CORNER!!! This simple girl loves their Chocolate Chip Cookie and Peanut Butter Cookie with a glass of milk. oooOOOO sooo good!

One of the things I love about the cookies from the Cookie Corner is the SMELL!!!
Aahhhh! There is nothing like the aroma of fresh baked cookies. As I get closer to the Cookie Corner; I can smell the fresh baked cookies. It’s the smells of White «Chocolate» Diamonds or «Cookie Corner» No. 5. Hhmmm!
I know exactly what I want to order if I am ordering cookies as a gift because I order what are my favorite cookies at the Cookie Corner. Especially if the cookies are Christmas presents for my mother or my aunty.
Cookie Corner cookies can be ordered in Small Box (8 – 9 cookies), Medium Tin (11 – 12 cookies) and Large Box (17 – 18 cookies) when you order the original size cookies. I always, always, always order the Large Box of original size cookies for my mother and aunty.
For my mother and for my aunty I pick nothing but the best; which happens to be my favorites.

You can tell I llooove chocolate… er, I mean you can tell they llooove chocolate!
The thing I love about the Cookie Corner tin and boxes are that they are so pretty and they give you «to and from» cards and a bow that you just stick on and you are ready to go deliver your gift.
The first thing I do is deliver my large box of Cookie Corner cookies to my aunty.
Aunty: «Oh Val! Thank you for remembering me at Christmas! I love cookies!»
Then I go to my mom’s house and drop off her gift box of cookies.
Mom: «Oh Val! So thoughtful of you! Thank you for remembering me at Christmas! I love cookies!»
Now I just have to patiently wait…
My aunty takes the large box of cookies that I gave her and changes the label to «To: Carol… From: Gladys».
Carol is my mom; and Gladys is my aunty.
My mom takes the large box of cookies that I gave her and changes the label to «To: Chaes… From: Grandma».
Chaes is my son.
My son takes the large box of cookies that he got from his grandma and changes the label to «To: Dad… From: Chaes».
My mom takes the large box of cookies that she got from my aunty and changes the label to «To: Jackie… From: Mom».
Jackie is my girlfriend.
This all may seem complicated to you but we have been doing this for a few years.
This is all the trouble I have to go through to buy myself two large boxes of my favorite cookies from the Cookie Corner at Christmas.

Their Snickerdoodles are soooo YUM! Just the way I like them! Light and crispy on the outside, soft and melt in your mouth on the inside. Just the right amount of sugar and cinnamon coats the delightful treat! The size is just right. Not too big and not too small and they are thick too!

Oh-​my-​cookie. My warm, soft cookie. Mixed with nuts and sugary sweetness, this cookie could be the making of a porn film. Or not.
Sometimes when you’re craving dessert but don’t want anything heavy, a cookie from The Cookie Corner is the perfect solution. I love it! If you have a friend that also wants one, you can make it a threesome. With milk, I mean. 2 cookies and milk special for $ 2.79. Can’t go wrong! ^_~

Promptly at 4:00 this afternoon, I hit that midday slump. I was in need of some SERIOUS assistance to help me power through the rest of the day when inspiration struck. Sitting at my desk, staring at the computer screen wondering where my motivation would come from, I suddenly thought, «What I need is a cookie! A soft, chocolate peanut butter piece of heaven. Yes, that’s EXACTLY what I need!» Sometimes I’m such a genius.
I just took the elevator downstairs and marched directly into the Cookie Corner, which every day taunts me with the RIDICULOUS aroma of fresh baked sweetness. The shop is located in the lobby of the TOPA financial center, which, conveniently enough, is also where my office is!
The ladies who work here are just as sweet as the cookies — so friendly. «One cookie please…» and then the choices began. But they were patient as I hemmed and hawed over the display case. I selected my cookie, handed over my $ 1.43 and was also given a scratch off card and the possibility of winning a 6-​day vacation to Vegas. Cheeehoo!
Fast forward 5 minutes. I’m sitting back at my desk, peanut butter cookie drizzled with chocolate (aka heaven) is in my belly and I am happy as can be. Scratch off card did not yield a trip to Vegas, BUT I did win a free cookie! Double cheeehoooo!
Right. Now back to work. :o)

Maybe it’s because I’ve been eating these cookies since I was younger that they no longer pack that POW like other more new and trendy desserts do (BHL acai bowl, Otto cheesecake, Hokulani cupcakes). But they do get kudos for remaining a tried and true dessert option. You can’t go wrong with a Cookie Corner cookie. I rank um three stars.
For under four bucks, you can get two cookies and a pint of milk — a great pick me up for those mid-​day workday blues :)
