Timi House

There was another customer there when I went in to the store,
the first impression of the store was similar to other stores that serve shave ice or bubble tea.
It does not feel like some other store where people could at least seat down and talk or work on their own business. It seems to be somewhat congested and tiny. I just was not super impressed at the time when I went to the store maybe I was not particularly in a good mood or maybe there could have been somewhere else I should be.

I’m all about the Boba lyfe. Had to try that hawaii boba. I wasn’t blown away but they had wintermellon. Wintermellon boba is pretty hard to find.
I always judge a boba place by their green tea boba. They were kind enough to add sugar even after I had started drinking. Pretty nice place.
It’s located near the very small china town. There are many small shops nearby. Lots of chinese people come here it seems.
They even have an upstairs section for seats.

i usually come to timi every school day to drink winter melon tea， the taste of the drink is awesome，I really love it. also I can go up stairs and relax on the sofa, there’s music next to me. most of the time me and my friends are handing out there the tables are clean and smooth I always play card games on the table.

Oh my! What a charming place… I just wish it was located anywhere else. Why does it have to be smack-​dab in down (china)town?! Plus I’m toting around a little guy now, so it’s not like I can just leave my car illegally parked somewhere nearby and run out anymore either.
I was visiting my friends new boutique so she introduced me to Timi House. I am now obsessed with their flavored iced teas!!! It just sucks that it will take me so much effort to come back since its on Hotel street and doesn’t have its own parking lot. We parked in the underground municipal lot across the street.
This place sells acai/​pitaya bowls, milk teas, smoothies, boba, and more! I love ice teas. And here, there are so many flavors to choose from. I got to try the lychee, the peach, and the strawberry. All made with jasmine tea. The man explained that he prefers jasmine (as do I), but you have your choice and can opt for black or green tea as your base also.
My favorite is the strawberry. It was SO good. Perfectly sweet, with little chunks of strawberry floating around! LOVE! Plus it was so reasonable! Around $ 3 for a small, and $ 4 for a large. (Note: your purchase needs to be over $ 5 to use a credit card)
I honestly would come back, even though parking is a big pain in the butt… that’s how much I enjoyed it! :) or maybe I’ll just get like 10 strawberry teas with no ice, take them home and hoard them.

The venue is super cute! There is alot of space to sit and a second floor. A pretty cozy place and has great milk tea!

I usually stop by for their iced coffee and milk tea. The inside is really clean and has a light, casual ambiance. The owners are nice, and sometimes they let you sit upstairs.

Got the thai ice tea with mixed boba. The boba was fine. But the thai ice tea was gross. Too powdery flavored and artificial. Also, due to the language barrier, attempts to make substitutions may end up in disaster. You’ve been warned.

I’ve been roaming around downtown as a student every other weekend. I’ve been wanting to come try the smoothie or milk tea here. Finally at lunch break I came here to check it out. It is a small chinese shop with drinks and dessert. They have a second floor which is interesting. Does it ever get that busy? Anyways, when I came on a Saturday afternoon, it was empty.
I looked at the menu and wanted to get papaya smoothie. I asked if I could get it without adding milk in the smoothie. He said it was okay and he will just add agave sugar and papaya with ice blended. After I ordered I realized he charged me for a large. He didn’t even bother asking me what size. But whatever. 5 minutes or so later I got my drink. I took a sip. it definitely tasted like papaya but it was sooo sweet, too much agave sugar.
I don’t think I’ll be back for smoothie. My disappointing attempt. BTW, they have 10% student discount.

Located in the middle of downtown right near a major bus stop, aka dirty crazy homeless hub, I saw this place after getting off the bus in Chinatown one day. There’s a really cool looking, but small, loft upstairs where you can sit. The interior is cute, and if you don’t look outside the windows, you might forget what you’re surrounded by outside. The menu here is pretty extensive; they even sell snow ice which is a plus.
I’ve tried a few things here, but haven’t ever returned to the place to finish filling out their stamp card. The pudding here is a little on the firm side, but it’s still not bad. The wintermelon is good here, and so was the grass jelly.

I used to just get milk tea but now I also order Kumquat lemonade, milk ice and smoothies. The other day I was in there late and didn’t want to get caffeine, the staff made me a smoothie with greens, banana, pineapple and lemon. it was so good and full of fiber. This place is my weekly stop on my days off!

I finally caught this place open and I was not impressed. The staff is friendly but the coffee milk tea was not good. It was a fail.
When this place first opened, I really liked the milk tea. I wanted to come back for more. The store sign said it would be open 7 am so when I tried to pick myself one, it was closed. So i gave up for little bit. Why put a sign they open and not be open. Then when I finally caught the place open and I was craving a coffee milk tea, it was a disappointment. Just wasn’t cold and the taste was not what I expected. Guess I should stick to my Coffee or Tea and Mr. Tea.

I woke up with some sniffles in the morning. I was not looking for something warm especially in this heat;). I wanted the opposite. A cold ice beverage or fruit smoothie. Walking through fort street a sign caught my eye. Timis house with coffee, smoothie and teas. Well that was a message from God that I had to stop in ;)
I noticed an array of bubble tea flavors on the counter. The menu was displayed on the wall to the right. There was little bags of chocolates up for purchase as well.
I looked around to see soft floral paintings showcased on one side of the store. Additional seating is also offered upstairs. The establishment was very clean and inviting.
It took me a while to decide. The young man at the register was very patient. He noticed my sniffles and suggested hot ginger tea. After much thought and indecisiveness I settled for the ginger. Within minutes a young lady brought it to my table. It was awesome and it cured my stuffed nose. Sweet and spicy with doses of deliciousness! I’ll be back!

If I want drink milk tea I will come Timi House ! there 辣条，and 咖啡雪挺，very tasty. 就在downtown，很近，bus很方便。

(01÷15÷16 — Two stars) We returned here because I found an Entertainment Book coupon via Verizon Smart Rewards and thought I would give them another try. We ordered two drinks and the coupon said, «buy one menu item get one free.» However, the proprietor informed me several times that they have not participated in that promotion for over two years. He said «sorry» and tried to hand the coupon back to me. Only after I insisted for the third time that he was required to honor it did he finally agree to do so.
The drinks themselves were shaken with ice but were still quite warm, since they were at room temperature prior to ice being added. It took a few minutes of swirling for them to get cold. I ordered a milk tea smoothie with bubbles and was given a drink that was with ice and not blended. The texture of the bubbles was very good. It was a hot day and there was no air conditioning, so I didn’t exactly wish to hang around. Since there are so many other bubble tea places downtown, I am unlikely to return.
(06÷17÷15 — Four stars) I was excited about visiting this place based on the other reviews. It was almost empty when I arrived (it was early) and the décor was relaxing and nice. I ordered the vanilla «snow» and was surprised to discover that it came with the toppings for the price quoted, and I didn’t have to pay extra. It arrived in a super-​neat bowl with boba, mango popping boba, jelly, green sweetened beans and red sweetened beans. There was a sprig of mint for decoration. I was really impressed by the presentation
Unfortunately, the snow itself had a strange, gummy texture, little sweetness and no vanilla flavor. It tasted like evaporated milk — not bad. However, the toppings more than made up for the lack of sweetness and flavor. I enjoyed finding a quiet oasis in the middle of a busy part of downtown Honolulu. They even have free Wi-​Fi. Although I didn’t have time to hand around I am sure they would have welcomed me if I wanted to stay and study or read.
I will definitely be back, and next time I will try something else on their extensive menu.

There used to be a different milk tea place here that I liked before it closed. Timi House replaced it and serves the same kind of stuff: Taiwanese milk tea and desserts.
There were a couple other people ordering when I walked in, so I had time to browse the menu and observe the family behind the counter. A man, who I assumed to be the owner was at the cash register, showing his young daughter the ropes of a family business. It was so cute! He would translate what the customers would order into Chinese and help her find the correct buttons, then tell her the amount of change needed.
I ordered a green tea milk tea with boba, less sweet. I was given a black tea milk tea with boba that was way too sweet. Since I’m kind of a milk tea snob, I can definitely tell the difference. I thought about sucking it up and not saying anything, but I went back to tell them I was given the wrong drink. The owner man apologized and made me the correct drink. It was definitely good. The boba was chewy and delicious and the tea was a bit watery, but good.
This may be the only boba place downtown. Although this establishment understandably doesn’t have parking, you can park in the muni lot nearby or try to find street parking. It’s definitely worth checking out if you’re downtown and I love the fact that it’s a small family business.

I came in here around 630 pm. It’s a very cute little shop, they have a pretty wide selection of drinks – hot teas, milk teas, fruit teas, juices, smoothies and even milkshakes. They also have a few light snacks and snow if you’re looking for something cold and refreshing. I ordered the black diamond milk tea and the honeydew juice with boba. Thai milk tea is still my ultimate number flavored milk tea but I definitely recommend trying the milk tea. If you love honeydew, you’ll definitely enjoy the refreshing honeydew juice. It’s conveniently located in the heart of Chinatown near Ross. You can find street parking or park in a garage – municipal parking is usually the cheapest.
This place does accept credit cards but required a minimum $ 5 purchase.

I’m on milk tea adventure. So I had to try Timi’s. It’s in downtown so there’s no parking folks except street. I parked on Bethel street.
I went at 10am so of course no one’s there. The lady server was nice. I could here some mandarin radio station which was soothing to my ear but no clue what they were saying.
I got my usual green milk tea. Okay, I think they use same green tea as kung fu tea. It was okay. I would come back except it’s really out of my way.
The best part was they have wrapped straws and they’re black!!! That makes me happy. It’s wrapped so that means it hasn’t been touched by however many people right?
Finally it’s a cute little café joint. There’s also upstairs with some tables and chair. It’s a clean place with cute things on the wall.
The locations is diagonally across from Ross.

HOLY BUBBLE-​SAUR!
There seems to be a new milk tea shop opening on every corner, but Downtown Honolulu’s newest addition, Timi House, earns the top spot on my list of favorites! In addition to your standard milk tea and boba, Timi House also offers Snow Flake Ice, Hot Grass Jelly, Juices, Milk Shakes, Smoothies, and a long list of additional toppings including Pudding, Kanten, and Aiyu. On each of my visits, I have been very happy with both the service and the milk tea!
Milk Tea with Pudding: After reading so many Unilocal reviews raving about the pudding, I decided to forgo my usual boba for an order of pudding instead! Silky, smooth, and subtly sweet, the pudding was a fun addition to my milk tea and an order I plan on repeating again soon!
Green Tea Milk Tea with Boba: When I order a milk tea, I like to taste the TEA. Timi House’s Green Tea Milk Tea provided the perfect ratio of milk to tea with strong flavors of green tea detectable amid the milk, sugar, and pearls.
Watermelon Milk Tea with Aiyu and Japanese Agar (Number 8 on Timi’s Top Ten): On my 3^rd visit in a row, I thought I would branch out and take a tip from Timi. Located behind the cash register, Timi House lists their Top Ten concoctions. I was immediately drawn to the Number 8 Watermelon Milk Tea and took a leap of faith. Trust me when I say trust in Timi. If the number 8 is as good as it was (and it was AMAZING) then I am definitely coming back to finish off their top 10 list.
Its convenient proximity to my office is certainly dangerous for my diet, but I am already looking forward to my next visit! Hey! At least I burn calories walking there… right?

Awesome pudding milk tea!!! And cheaper than coffee or tea?. Plus you can adjust the drinks’ sugar levels to your liking.
They have a great selection of yummies! Grass jelly desserts look pretty popular too.
They take card, but with a $ 5 minimum. Open until 7pm!

Hawaii seems to have these weird crazes every couple years. 2008: fro-​yo. 2010: food trucks. 2013: ramen. And 2013-​present: milk tea. These little Asian drink joints have been popping up left and right since early last year and lemme tell you, it’s about time! Pretty much the only option we had several years back was Coffee or Tea and… yeah… to put it nicely I’m not a fan of the place (see old review). But now there’s a ton of options.
Timi House is located along Hotel St several shops down from Marukame Udon. Yes, the owner and workers speak «chinglish» and have a difficult time understanding you but they’re very friendly. Just be patient and listen when they repeat your order to check if it’s right. The selections they have are AMAZING. Seems like a lot of the tea varieties I usually don’t find anywhere else and they have these interesting hot jelly desserts that I need to try next time.
I got the large pudding milk tea and my friend got a medium mango milk tea with bubbles. Total came out to under $ 8. Not bad! Ooh I loved my milk tea with the pudding. I definitely recommend, though maybe tell them with less ice.
Timi House is a really small shop but they utilized the space well! There are several tables downstairs and there’s actually a few tables UPSTAIRS. Good place to get a little studying done or just for girl (or boy) talk.
I don’t go to downtown often but now I have a good reason to! Can’t wait to try more of their drinks and desserts!
